Have you ever been told by your partner to stop smoking pot?

My girlfriend recently changed her opinion on my pot-smoking, mostly because I did it every day alone, instead of occasionally with friends. I chose to submit, because she's more important to me than pot, and because I wouldn't want to seem like the kind of guy who would give up a girl for drugs.

How about you? Has anyone ever been asked by their girlfriend or boyfriend to stop smoking weed? What did you do?

Haha, yes kind of, except I was the one demanding she stopped. Ha I have changed so much since 15. Now I'm considering trying to land a job dealing with cannabis activisim. I'm currentlworking on an English major (though it may not be obvious here) and am looking for something to do with my life. Can't think of anything I would love, so I just set a goal to at least got a job (not even career as a writer for weed. I can go to my shitty tech writing job every day but I will always have the one I like on the side.

God I'm rambling like a mad drunk woman...

Oh yeah, but 6 years ago I was trying to force my girlfriend of the time to quit smoking.

ya my gf of 3 years told me about 8 months ago to stop

i tried and tried to get a reason but she couldnt come up with a good reason that i didnt have a counter for....shes always been bery stubborn and very close minded and basically it was just another way she could try to express her dominance over me...i mean its not like i smoke everyday alone or choose pot over her or sacrifce time with her because of pot...im completely responsible about it but and she knew about it and was fine but one day something just went off in her head and she freaked

shes really important to me and just like you i would never choose a drug over some1 i love...so i quit for her....lasted about 3 weeks at most until my mates convinced me for a smoke and i went back to my ways...she doesnt need to know that though

Yea, girls can be real bitches when it comes to that. I was talking to this girl for 3 months and every time we were suppose to meet up and fuck something would come up with her. Comes to find out she wouldnt fuck me cause i smoke weed? Wtf?

Yeah my old GF got a job that drug tested. Told me I had to stop since she couldn't do it anymore. And thus she is an "old" GF.

Why?

I was very religious and straight laced when I was youn and bought into the bullshit. Than I slowly started seeing the light and enjoying life.

I was the same way. I feel like such a dick about it now.

I had a girlfriend with lots and lots and lots of medical problems. Chronic pain, severe glaucoma, weekly ear infections. I loved her dearly, but at that point in time I had this HUGE thing against weed and alcohol. I told her so profusely how much I hated people who did those things because for all I knew she was straightedge.

The relationship lasted about 13 months. A year after that, I found out she used to smoke an 1/8th every 2 days and had five plants in her basement. I actually called the exact location when I found out... I feel really bad, because she stopped using weed for her glaucoma because she didn't want me to get angry at her. Now that I think about it, I really wish she had brought it up and told me straight out, because if it's safe and it takes away the pain, do it.



I wish I could go at it again with her.. but current situations aren't exactly working out.. (her boyfriend was killed in a car accident two days ago). One of the most amazing people I have ever met..
