Flowering 2 Master Kush

MVP I've grown 2 blueberries...neither one smelliing like blueberry EVER lol and one I picked at the the begining of the harvest windown (about 10% amber) and the second at about 40% amber and what a HUGE difference in the couchlock effect. No difference in the smell though. :

How is the high on that super skunk? I hear that one's a great yielder but always thought it wasn't very strong stuff......maybe because of the commercial talk I hear about skunk. How strong is the smell as its flowering.....is it one of those that just TAKES over your house like catpiss or one of those?

My Mass Super Skunk's would make your eyes tear- def smell issues. Can't speak for the related strains.

Power Plant rocks- Funny, I recently had a conversation w/ a commercial guy who'd just finished PP for the first time- He had the same impression going in that you have of the skunk - " can't be all that, it's a commercial cultivar".

He was pleasantly surprised.

Sorry I haven't checked in much- very busy. I am watching, but I don't log in unless I have something to say.

I like the buzz from SS as it isn't the heavy indica kick-yer-ass-into-the-couch-all-night type of high. It gives me a zippy, lets-get-some-stuff-done type of buzz so I can enjoy the high and also get things accomplished around the house at the same time.

As far as my grow, the strain and its potency - I'll have to report back to you sometime in December when the lil gal is done flowering; she is so cute - 1/2 inch shy of 2 ft tall but flowers galore. As far as smell, dunno since I'm running an exterior vented 449 CFM Vortex with an 8" x 20" carbon filter/scrubber (in a closet 4' x 2.5' x 8' tall) that is so WWAAAAAYYYYYYYY overbuilt it is ridiculous! :D

I don't have anything really set up for real odor control MVP....we're in a pretty quiet area....not a lot of folks around but last time I grew something really reeky (catpiss) I was honestly just sorry on general principles. :wtf:

Well nice to hear that you are going for the power plant...but i think you should buy the dutch-passion's power plant. They have another strain that could be a nice one too...its called Sacra Frasca...hybrid between Power Plant and Skunk Passion...it says.:"Very potent and energetic uphigh".

I LOVE growing from seed! Watching those little beans burst their jackets just makes my day :thumbsup: And ALL the different ones to try......MVP when I was young (in 1926 :eek:) you had NONE of the choices, selections and possibilities we have now in the ganja world. Jeez...there's a SEEDBAY for chrissakes, know what I mean? What I wouldn't have done to be able to order ganja seeds (whatever kind I choose) in the mail. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I guess cloning doesn't appeal to me at this point because I enjoy growing.....but on a smaller scale. :)

Yeah, I will have to rediscover my inner seed self once I get bored with my strains. I grow for personal MMJ needs only and cloning shortens my cycles so that is the reason for cuts. If I had more room to enjoy my gardening I would be inclined to do the seed thing again - after all that is how I did my first 3 grows and they turned out good - albeit 10, uh... I mean... 15 years ago or so... :eek:

They looked great in those last pictures. I was going to get some pics of my 6 MK's up but my camera doesn't like the HPS lighting or something and makes black lines run across all the pics!

Deja....hps takes TERRIBLE pics....I have to turn it off and take the photos with regular light.

You mentioned in another of my threads (the Rhino one) about e.c/ppm and "saturation" You said something about seeing a change...."a blip" in the trend and at that point...you have 'saturation."

One of my MK's is almost finished.....at 43-44 days. :wtf: It's as healthy as can be...looks gorgeous...but I swear the trichs are all cloudy w/ 5% amber; the buds are HEAVILY sugared and about 60-70% of the calyxes are swollen up....anad probably the same amount of red pistils. How common is this type of thing; does anyone know? My second MK is DEFINITELY several weeks away from finishing....and growing like a f*ucking tree. The breeders recommendation for the MKs is 8-9 weeks so I don't get why the one is almost finished at 6.?????:eek:

Ok, sorry, back on track. In monitoring the ppms on the finishing plant I've noticed in the last day or two what I BELIEVE to be 'blip." :cool: My numbers were at 1350-ish and generally stayed the same...neither up nor down.

In the last few days on THIS plant I've noticed reduced uptake.....the ppm is starting to rise slowly and I'm having to dilute the number down or it would climb to 1500 which is my limit. Does this sound like 'the blip" to you and should I honestly be thinking about flushing this plant at day 43?

Tare out any environmental changes which would change water/nute uptake ratios to be sure- ie, drop in humidity will lead to water/n ratio increase- but it sounds like you're there.

Cut way back for a day or two and watch yer #'s- if you don't see an EC plummet, then yer good to go.

Finish times distribute over a Bell curve- you could easily have one that's done. Keep an eye on it for a couple days and watch for a second wave of calyx development before you call it done.

Yer watching your numbers- that's hot.:D

Hey...I'm watching a guy on another site growing 3 foot plants in six inch RW cubes. Have you seen this done? He's talking about ruining the theory of rootboundness....have you heard anything about this kind of thing? Seem you could get better use of space with the plants under a light if they are in 6' rw cubes.

Ok....here they are. The one in the first pic is the one that's almost finished.....I will try to get some trich pics later today to show where they are at on that plant. It's funny but the red pistils never seem to show up very strongly in the pics I take with this camera so it makes the plant look less along than it is. :wtf:

The second one is definitely several weeks away and still growing happily. :thumbsup:

I LOVE the scent and look of these Master Kush plants. I was worried that the dark green leaves were a result of too much nitrogen so I lowered the level to 5ml/gallon (rhiz ;)) but then read that the MK's are known for their characteristically (sp?) dark green leaves and piney scent. The only complaint I have about these plants so far is the instability of them....which may be a result of poor breeding but I have definitely had some issues with unstable gowing patterns and results with this group of seeds. :wtf:

Done it- no problem. Root/shoot ratios and media/biomass ratios are differant in hydro.

Have finished three footers in 4" blocks NFT- many, many times.

Used to keep my moms in 6" Cultilene- worked like a charm. 3' ain't nothing- if I didn't get in there to mow for a week or two, they'd make 5'.

Biggest problem is stuff falling over as the block loses weight/ dries out. In NFT rig, blocks fit pretty tightly into rails.

Looks like I'm picking up an Omega- based on 3"X3" X2.5" grodan. They'll finish at 2.5".

Might hang on to it, might flip it- not sure.

They're looking pretty done to me on this one plant. ;) Rhiz....I took the number back to 600....by evening was up to 700....dilluted back down to 580 and this am at 598. Ph going up slowly....not really quick or abormally to me.

Should I continue to dilute back to a certain number (I chose 600 for no real reason) or should I let the number climb?

You might mention one of the desktop models for the bedroom.....save the large one for the centerpiece of your living room decor....:D

It's funny you said that about being in order....it DOES seem to be....just at fast forward speed. I WILL say I think yield has been affected.....I believe the other plant will produce double this one will but I WAS just looking at that plant and thinking that for something that flowered as QUICK as it did the yield will probably be pretty good....I'm guessing perhaps 3 oz-ish. Would you consider this a plus or a minus?
I am, however, waiting for a good, dry subjective bioassay sample to confirm my findings. :D

Esp. if the pheno occupies less floor space @ finish than median.

If the quicker flower is going to allow you to run 6 week instead of 8, you can get several more cycles a year out of the same space- g/w/m...

It's a plus if yer running straight-out 365 in flower- but if you need to tie up flower space vegging, advantage may be the other way.

I have a nice large pre-wired reflector that I'd love to get a 400w MH bulb and ballast for. It has 4" holes for venting but the way I'd have to set it up would be without any ducting because it would have to be something that I could take down easily. All the 4inch fans I see a pretty low cfms....how much heat does a 400w mh bulb put out?

Deja.....this stuff is COVERED with resin which is coating itself all over my pipe and doesn't want to come off easily even with rubbing alcohol. AWESOME!! :thumbsup::jointsmile:

400 mh isn't throwing much heat- 50-100 cfm sucking cross the bulb would be plenty to minimize hotspot. Prob get away w/ a lot less- muffin fan?

Only time I ever bothered cooling a 400mh I was using a 6" duct booster w/ maybe 6" of 4" flexi and a reducer between ref and fan- way under 70cfm throughput. Top of reflector maybe ambient +7F- plants growing up onto glass w/ no issues.

The only trick is, as I said it would need to be workable (not too hot for the room) but also something I can take down easily in a pinch.... I remember my 1k mh (same reflector) absolutely BLEW AWAY a smaller room (maybe 1/3 size) with the heat.

X-C was talking about some of the $25 at home depot....but he felt I should go with a six inch which would requite screws and things according to him.

Essentially you're trying to convince the plant that it went through a fall ( reproductive) season, then got through the winter/short day season without a hard (killing) frost- come " spring" it'll start to veg again.

In practice- you leave a small amount of bud material on the plant, put it back into a veg lighting cycle ( reduced intensity is fine, often beneficial), feed it very lightly, and watch for new growth- you'll see some elongated calyx development, then single blade stress leaves, then normal veg growth. Takes a month or two, depending on plant, strain, degree of harvest sesenence, etc.

Always had best luck leaving miminal, lower- the more flower mass remaining ( generating hormones), the longer the trans period. Need to leave enough to not kill plant- seat of the pants typa thing.

hung for about 10 days, and got too dry too fast.
jarred the other day and got drier, ultra crispy.
i put a piece of celery in jar yesterday cause its all i had in fridge.
took it out today and whole batch is freshened.
still smells too fresh, lil harsh, but a very up n peppy high.
total head high, almost energizing , and creeps up on ya after a while.
i like it alot.
i think prolly shoulda waited another week or 2, but this is pretty good for my 1st shot:D
im hopin i can make it last long enuf to cure better, but, im a :stoned:head and its awesome to know its MINE!:D

I think he's talking about the same fan I used, more or less- involved 4"x6" reducer, aluminum HVAC tape. No screws that I remember, but I've been into the bubble...:jointsmile:
