Yet another football thread

In the thread that started all this, I was told American Football was called that, because the ball used was a football. Why is it called a football? :D

American football was inspired by an English public school game called Rugby. So they nicked our game as well as our language!!!

techincally....You gave us your customs and we didn't like your government so we went to war with you, won, and afterwards there was a development of new customs in which we exchanged over the years, abdopted independtly and altered.

Football is known as Soccer..

American Football... is... American Footbal. Canadian football doesn't even have the same rules.. and it's the same bloody game!

Hockey or Baseball for this cat.

which war was this then? i know the americans didnt go to war with us in WW2 or WW1

Ya, we kicked some ass in the Revolutionary war and then they had to come back for seconds in 1812.

Well, in eighteen and fourteen we took a little trip
