ok, on your big bud plant i would start 12/12 at 8-10in tall, and on your ww i would start at 12-18in tall. i have grown big bud and she does get tall.
the widow gets tall to if you flower her over 12 inches she will grow more than 3 ft.big bud and widow would have to be lst to keep the hight down .i take it you haven't seen mobays big bud grow .search out the thread and have a look and you will see what size this strain can go to lol.but then again this was a mobay grow lol lol.i would go for lst on them both thats your best option. As for lip he generally gives out good info ,but to say no one understands what the knome means is simple inexperience at growing as all who know the knome knows exactly what he means.the thing is lip is he tries to give information not offer it and that gives the impressing he knows what he is talking about when some of the times he doesn't and that seems to annoy some peepo .lip if you haven't got the experience at growing then you should offer it in a hope this helps sort of way instead of telling it as fact because giving someone the wrong info can fuck up their grow and future grows if they take your info as fact when it is wrong so think about it mate and keep doing as you are doing as if offered in the correct way it can be great help to new growers. and PS dint fuck with the knome lol.the postman.
With indoor growing.. the height, shape and overall size of the plant can be manipulated to exactly how you want it... it just depends on what you want..
Notice the below pic.. she was grown from seed and only vegged for 2 weeks under minimal lighting.. then flowered under my current setup..
she pulled through and provided just about a half ounce.
only going to show that size does matter... but only if you let it.:smokin:
Hi, Iâ??m surprised that no-one mentioned pruning. Whenever Iâ??ve been in that situation (vegging â??em too long), Iâ??ve used Ed Rosenthalâ??s pruning technique. Basicallyyou prune them so that
a) you only have a manageable number of branches per plant (3 â?? 4 for plants in a 3-gallon pot, 5 â?? 6 if a 5-gallon pot).
b) then along those branches, prune away their side-shoots until there is only foliage about 1 foot down from the top/tip of the branch. Looks a bit extreme at first, but if you do it at the point youâ??re at now (just before going 12/12) theyâ??ll grow back plenty. Later youâ??ll wish youâ??d pruned â??em even more.
That way all the development will go to a few good-sized branches, theyâ??ll grow noticeably faster because the remaining plant is opened up to light (you can see the light hitting most of the plantâ??s surfaces afterward). And later not much will be growing beneath the level of light-penetration, once the canopy fills in in a few weeks. Also gives great air circulation at the lower levels, and mites seem to get started on the leaves closest to the pots, where the humidity is highest (from the potâ??s moisture).
Where youâ??re at now youâ??re going to end up with mass quantities of tiny underdeveloped trim/budlets as the plant divides itâ??s energy among a zillion tiny bud-sites, most of which arenâ??t getting any decent light.
Old Ed gives a lot of 'highly questionable' advice, IMHO, but this one seems to work well.
