1. I don't think it is socially acceptable in the society we have right now, but we have a rather puritanical society, so there you are.
2. Well, I sleep nude for sure, & I would spend a lot more time in the buff except that I get cold very easily. So I spend a lot of time at home in soft, loose clothes (sans bra & underwear of course)... the closest I can get without being chilly.
3. I wouldn't care if other people saw me, but I live in a nice apartment complex, & some of my snootier neighbors might get bent out of shape & go tell on me or something. Also, even though I'm not a fan of the closed-mindedness of our society, I think everyone evolves at their own pace. I don't think it's necessarily good or kind to push others (esp. strangers) beyond their limits... that's not my place, as I don't know their history or circumstance.
Ousted, I see your point, but as you mentioned some of the people in scant clothing look bad because the clothes are ill-fitting... sometimes it's just the clothes making an otherwise decent body look less attractive. Another reason to favor nudity, lol. :) But I think our society puts too much emphasis on a golden 'ideal' body anyway, which has trained us to be so critical of our own selves & those around us.
I really believe that if we stopped emphasizing the need for perfect bodies so much, more people would have better bodies. We have created a cycle in which people feel ashamed about their bodies, then also feel resentful, then are acting & living from a place of negativity (discomfort with themselves, anger, loathing, etc.). Then in order to feel better, they turn to unhealthy 'food' which is all around us. It would be so nice (& rather utopian, I know) if somehow we could just forget about this whole 'fit culture' & just live contentedly & healthfully. I really believe that then obesity would drop dramatically, & we'd be a happier world.
And maybe if people spent more time in the nude or around nude people, more would begin to see the human body as an amazing entity & show a little more respect for it (both their own & others'). Hmm.
Geez, I just realized I wrote a damned novel! Sorry 'bout that.
Well if you look at some tribal cultures in different parts of the part, nudity is not a big thing at all. Parents are like, oh no, janet jackson showed her boob on TV, but then they let their kids watch the discovery channel showing naked men and women of some African tribe walking around. (Maybe nudity is ok if its not meant in a sexual/sedctive manner?) And lets not forget beeping out cuss words. I was watching formula 51 on USA and every cuss word was taken out, but they didnt edit out any of the violence and blood, because I assume parents think its worse for a kid to know fuck than to show him people being murdered. And the media wont show pictures of all the dead civilians in Iraq but they wont shy way from showing piles of corpses in Asia after the tsunami hit. America is sooooooo hypocritical.

Along the same lines, with some many other issues out there... is nudity really the the battle you want to fight? I've heard the drop food not bombs bit... how about the medicinal marijuana rather than relaxed nudity rulings.
I don't have a problem with nudity, assuming the situation was a socially appropriate one ie nude beach then sure I'll be naked. All this is saying, is I'd rather be clothed than offensive.
I rarely go completely naked as it makes my skin crawl. I try to have as much stuff touching as much skin as possible.
On an interesting side note... I think its fun having such an uptight society though... Think about how much MORE eroticicism there is because of it. There is more sexual subject matter because of our society, and I think its a fun little quirk.
The internet screwed up the nude beach at Sandy Hook, NJ, that we used to hit back in school. Nowadays, whenever a fairly hot looking girl shows up, a dozen guys with video cams slime their way toward her blanket. Sucks to be at a nude beach trying to be "free" when a bunch of guys are trying to get video to post.
Same thing happened with a clothing optional last day of skiing/snowboarding at Crested Butte, CO...fucking guys blew the event by posting vids.
Did anyone see the Queer Eye show with the nudist guy? You'd think that nudists and nuturists would be the more inclined to treat their bodies like temples and not Twinkie vacuums.
To ME, nudity has everything to do with SEX. Therefore I don't approve of public nudity.Quote:

My vote is for everyone to keep covered up .... :D
And thank you for your well thought out contribution, ghosty. :D Next time you think something someone says is stupid its probably a good idea to then elaborate why you dont agree. Otherwise, Im left with one conclusion: You're a dipshit. Read my sig.Quote:
