Thoughts On Nudity
I was going to post this in the sexuality forums but then it came to my attention that nudity has nothing to do with sex.
Do you all belive that nudity is socially acceptable or complely taboo?
How often do you take the chance to be nude?
And if you do spend time nude do you care if other people see you even if it's in your own home?
Here's my awnsers but don't let them reflect on what you have to say.
I think nudity is completley acceptable. I like to be nude whenever possible as it is more comfortable than your baggiest pair of clothes could ever be.
And I don't really care if other people see me nude (except children) because they got the same equipment I do. In closing I think that if your uncomfortble with seeing people nude than your uncomfortable with yourself.Zero Revolt Reviewed by Zero Revolt on . Thoughts On Nudity
Nudity is natural. I really don't see what's wrong with it and why people make such a big fuss over people being able to view certain body parts in public. It's probably a cultural thing we inherited from the Europeans. Peoples native to warmer climates frequently lived without clothes and their societies were not affected by any sort of mass degradation of morality as some would have you believe is the natural result of seeing such body parts.
You're right, nudity really has nothing to do with sex, but it is equated with sex in our culture because sex is one of the few times people ever see anyone else naked. In societies that developed without clothes, for instance, the female breast is not typically viewed as sexual. But here everybody gets in an uproar when a female nipple is visible at the Superbowl, as if it had some sort of potential to cause any harm to anyone more than a man's nipple could (which seems like a pretty sexist idea to me).
It's usually religious Christian moralists who rigorously oppose nudity in public, in the media, and yes, even in art. These are people who are motivated by the idea that anything remotely related to sex (even nudity, which is only associated with sex because we hardly ever see nude people outside of sexual situations anymore) as sinful and wicked and against God's will and so forth, and they wish to impose their religious viewpoint on the rest of society.
To answer your questions:
No, nudity is not socially acceptable, but in an ideal society it would be.
I hang around my room naked sometimes, but other than that I rarely get to be nude due to social stigmas and the highly successful campaign of the aforementioned Christian moralists which makes it a crime (!) for me to show parts of myself their religion doesn't like. Which change over time, by the way. A hundred years ago it was taboo to show a thigh in public.
I don't really care if people see me naked. Again, this hardly ever happens, but it doesn't trouble me when it does.

Thoughts On Nudity
I personally am not a fan of public nudity. Not because I dont think people should love their bodies, but because...most people dont have nice bodies, myself included. If I just see someone with visible flab poking out of their jeans that are way too small, or shorts that are much too short showing cellulite I get really embarrassed for those people, cuz that to me says "I dont care how I look." Same if I saw someone who didnt bathe for a week.
However, if I see someone, male or female, with an incredible body and showing it off, I also get uncomfortable. Because it makes me feel bad about myself, or inferior to them in some way. I know its silly and unfair to those who have worked for a nice body who are probably paying no attention to me, but thats just how I feel - thats my personal issue though.

i always think about jerry seinfeld when a question comes up like this, he talks about people will feel more comforatable in clothes because you can always make those little adjustments to your clothes but when your nude your just there...... thats why he wairs a belt when hes nude so he can still make those small adjustments

i think nudity should be socially acceptable.....there is nothing wrong with seeing someones skin.
I speand as much time nude as i can.....which isnt very much cause my parents tend to just walk into my room when they feel the need to.
I dont really care if people see me nude....im sure they would feel more awkward than
i would.
