One more thing, get a timer for almsot everything. Im learing too and just had my exhaust fan and light set on timers so I don't have to plug and unplug it manually. It's saved my time and electricity so far and allows a steady, constant light cycle for your plants!

You should put your exhaust fan on a tempstat instead of a timer... Reason being you want to control the temp in the room.. The timer will let the temps get to hot unless you run the exhaust to whole light period.
