When you say "down south" where exactly do you mean? I just spoke with the producer in Dona Ana County (the only one) and they will have new medicine available soon and definitely plan on meeting the criteria for the license renewal due December 1st.[/QUOTE
I think Ruidoso is the second
Wow - will have to give them a call. It is hard for me to understand how people could invest so much of their time and money and then just quit. I know they have had some setbacks and unfortunately, when the fee was in the discussion stages, there was a change from a percentage of revenues to a flat fee. This is really hurting the newest producers who have had limited income this year. They are all considered to have been in business a year as of Dec. 31st and are all subject to the $10,000 renewal fee. They undoubtedly would have been better off with the percentage. The older producers are subject to $20,000! Good luck to them all!
Producers Going Out of Business
Hello,
I am new here but have been in process of starting a producer/dispencary operation. We had a board meeting yesterday at our warehouse. I actually called the 4 corners producer yesterday to find out a few things. They said it was several things as to why they closed. They sited fear and cost as the major reasons. As they have 2 small children they have decided to focus on them instead of business. They said they have/had plenty of product but it was not working for them.
I also called Sante Fe today. Donna said " I can't tell you Not to send up the initial $1000 fee BUT they do not have the criteria for a producer on the website and there is no way for anyone to know what that criteria is as it is being updated as we speak and will not be available until after Dec 31". She said " So if you don't know what you need to include your packet will be incomplete and declined. It the past they would put a hold on a file until all info was submitted, but that changed. Now they just decline if not complete. She then went on to say that there are enough growers to supply the patients and enough meds for the patients. That is not what I have been hearing...
If anyone has more info please contact me. I would like to just discuss the process of getting licensed and involved.
Thanks

Although Donna works for the DOH, I don't believe she gave you correct information regarding the information NOT being on the website. If you will go to their website, there is an area where you can view and print the promulgated rules of the program. If you just include EVERY item they list under the LNPP section, you will have a complete application. If you don't have all of the required members of your board...don't expect to be licensed. They require 3 patients and 1 medical person. You don't have all of them, then don't apply until you have them. NOTHING can be pending. BUT, you do not have to spend the money on facility, equipment, personnel, etc. until you have approval. Just follow the rules....they are all spelled out for you and anyone else who wants to submit an application. Good luck.

Contacted the Ruidoso producer. They are definitely renewing their license as is the one in Dona Ana County/Las Cruces. Sorry to hear about the one in the Four-Corners area but certainly understand. $10,000 is a lot of money to come up with in such a short period of time.

Now we're back to the 20-30 dollar delivery fee. Oh well, it's better than not having any. :)
I wish I had the money to start producing. "It's hell being poor and hired out." ;)

Hey Sam! There is still one producer in the Farmington area. There were two previously.

Thanks for the acknowledgment CFO! The other producer is up and running in the Farmington city limits with a walk in clinic! Just give a call or shoot them an email and you can walk right into their shop, enroll and pick-up medicine. Its as easy as stopping at the convenience store for a pack of gum !(with a few questions of course!)

If a Producer is not running their Op right, maybe its Darwinian for them to go under......just saying.
