I STILL have weed in seal-a-meal bags from 2009 and 2010. I don't smoke a lot but I sure love to grow it and share it....anyways, when I cut open those bags, the product smells just as good and smokes just as nice as it did when it was grown that year (fresh). My friends and I just smoked weed from a 2009 bag in Atlantic City in July and it was sooo good, they couldn't believe how great it was for being almost 2 years old. I find it's easier to store, too, I just put the small bags into a plastic container and go for it when I feel like sharing or selling some. Thanks for all the advice on curing and storing in jars, too. Right now my 2011 harvest is curing in mason jars until it's ready to seal-a-meal.
Always had trouble with the judgement calls when drying.
Snap, is too dry, bend is too wet, yada yada!

These sweet little RH meters fit in the jars.
> 70% will mold.
~ 60% is ideal and will keep for years
< 54% Too dry! curing ceases, and can not be restarted.
Our Hi. humidity often tops 70%
I keep a meter outside the jars so I know when NOT to "burp" them. :)
Some growers have talents and skills.
The rest of us use meters and tools.:o
Aloha,
Hope this helps the rest of us.

very interesting....WeeZard...
I put one in a jar; four hours ago...(different brand)
It started out at 55%/76 now at 58%/75 degrees. (it's warm in the house)
It's gonna turn much colder tonight/tomorrow.
I am curious if the lower outside temperature raises the humidity level inside the jar(s)?
This weed was dried for 14 days/Curing for 7 days.. These little thermometer/humidity gauges they have at Walmart for about $6...
are useful at every stage of growing...I would be lost without them...both C. or F. & records high/low readings..
Like Weeze said: 55-60% humidity INSIDE the jars is idea. Outside the jar humidity, is not a factor.
got a little excited looking aat that photo, lol!Quote:
