2300 pages of taxes......no real help for folks with nothing, no protection against frivilous lawsuits, no increase in choices for people to save $, THOUSANDS in fines for not having insurance or jailtime,500 BILLION in cuts to already crappy medicare.
There is nothing to celebrate in this for anyone....from either group. We ALL got jacked straight up. Disgraceful.
Now its on the the House of Representatives for another 2 weeks of bribery and closed door deals. Just wait till the general public gets ahold of this bill in its final form. Its gonna be hystericle. I bet some wont be able to return to their homestates for awhile outta fear of retribution and attack.:pimp:

Name a single government program that isn't bankrupt. Given the governments history of running things into the ground, what do you base your faith in their ability to run this properly?
If I had Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, USPS, AmTrak, as my resume, I'd never get a job, they're all bankrupt and government run. So why is it anyone trusts the government to do anything efficiently? I'll base my opinion on their record, not what they say. Anyone that wants you to buy into something too quickly has something they're hiding.

So, what you are saying is you trust private insurance monopolies and their spin-offs????? Frankly, albeit I have minimal trust in the government at this point, I still have more trust in it then the private insurance racket. We can change the government and its will, but corporations with the rights that only an individual should have, I don't trust as far as I can spit. Kind of like Glenn Beck hawking gold.

okay, full disclosure, I'm only up to about page 2 or 3 but
here is my question for anyone. Why is there no inter-state competition for insurance?? :wtf: if there is some logical reason to protect individual States or something then that is great but what is the reasoning behind this and why wasn't it corrected in a page or two of this 2300 pages?
and prediction .. :D Tom Coburn, 2012, running mate Steve Forbes, or visa versa for the Repub nom. sorry Dems, no offense. :hippy: :rasta:
btw, check out Ron Paul's newest bill to start auditing the fed, it has support from Ron to Barry Sanders. that pretty well covers the political spectrum, reinforcing something a lot of us have been saying for a long time, liberal vs. conservative means nothing anymore. the true test is Libertarian vs. fascist. :twocents:

I don't think ramming thru a bill, without anyone READING it, during a holiday season, and BUYING a senators vote, by giving his state of Nebraska permanent free Medicaid, could be called 'forging' ... more like 'swindling' , and some people have the nerve to call the republicans the bad guys ??? ... gimme a break :wtf:

I'm not too happy with the way this is turning out. If the Blue Dogs can be bought off with lots of government pork did they really intend to filibuster?
What I hope is that Obama will pull a Bush and strike out all the offensive language with a signing statement and add a public option of allowing any citizen to join the same health plan the govt gives it's employees.

I don't know where the idea that government employees receive free health comes from but I can tell you it's not true. Those in the military receive health benefits along with their families and military retirees get Tri-Care but regular civil service, postal workers, congressmen, ect. purchase their coverage each month.
Each year they receive a list of carriers such as Blue Cross, Mailhandlers, and what options they offer. The employee may select the one(s) they find to best suit their needs. They may also select their payment option as well, bimonthy or monthly. The cost is lower in some cases because of the sheer numbers of employees enrolled in certain plans, but it is Not Free by any means.
In my opinion I think all American families should have the same option as the government employees. With the "public option" being what is now call Government Employee Health Insurance.
