Thanks for posting that Rusty. In all my years I had never seen that happen. Probably because I will usually shit can them at first sign of being Hermie. Just a few weeks ago I found naners on 2 of the 4 non-auto full sized santa maria's (suppose to be lowryder autos) I had placed in the bloom room. Immediately they got taken out and shot. And every other day since I closely inspect the other 2, can't trust them, you know.

Thank-you Rusty and Old MAc . YOu just confirmed my 4 months of work down the drain!!!!! ;(
Sooo heres ONE more question I have CLONES fomr these plants in vegetative stage.
IS it really likely that these clones will turn hermies as well? we have NOT stressed them and they are growing GREAT.
I really dont want to trash them just for the sake of not having hermies again.
I REALLY can not afford to start from scatch!!!
Please advise.
Is it possible the vegetative ones will be ok IF not stressed?

If it was something you did to stress her like opening the room during lights-out, (or a light leak) ph swings, over/under watering...then it isn't a genetic problem and doubtful the clones will automatically be hermie.
Your best bet is to try and take extra precautions not to stress the clones, and keep a religous schedule for watering, feeding and lights. (and keep your fingers crossed) Especially once you put them into flower.

This is kinda sad and :o to admit. Although a lifelong gardener and pot smoker, I had never seen a "real, live MJ plant" in the flesh, only pictures and some vids. When the banana appeared on one of my Masterkush buds in my first grow, I suspected, but wasn't sure what it was. I never found any pictures of the occurance in my early research. I waited until it opened (to make sure and because I was curious :D) before I decided to cut it. Luckily, I had no seeds form.
Although the water will render the pollen inert, you risk mold or budrot by overspraying. Don't go overboard, and resign yourself to either growing femmed seeds, (which is what you will end-up with) or harvesting early. If you harvest early you will likely end-up with those little popcorn seeds that explode in your pipe, if not found and removed.

Funny, that's the only kind of hermie I've seen in my short time of growing.

I was between camera's at the time, but I had a lady throw-out a nanner mid-internode. I had to open my room after lights-out, and I was expecting the result. (I had left my smokes in there, and needed a lighter to find 'em) Point is...they can appear virtually anywhere from the base, up.
Anyway, if you didn't know to look in the bud for nanners, they would be easy to miss. A nanner looks a lot like a discolored calyx, so verify it's a nanner before you freak-out, lol.

I hate having to ask a dumb question...but... Could someone post a BIG pic of a hermied branch or bud ??? Or maybe kinda lead me in the right direction? I've tried the search but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Thankx.
