I need to know about HERMIES
I have plants that are 3 weeks from being DONE. They are flowering great.
But these girls have been stressed in more ways then one. I have now found seeds on 4 limbs on one plant (HERMIE). Can i cut those branches off, cure them and allow the rest keep growing as females. The branches are the bottom branches.
I can post pics if really need. but if you have been growing enough you done this so i am curious can you save the rest of the plant.birdboy Reviewed by birdboy on . I need to know about HERMIES
My last grow did that. The thing is, after i saw a few seeds, they just multiplyed. There were 2 plants in 1 large grow box. Too small and also the bitch i live with chucked em off my deck. I taped em up and they grew, but after a month i got seeds comming on. It was to early to harvest so i grew them out. It was hell to clean but the smoke wasnt bad after you got by the taste. Good luck but i think your headed for the same thing in less you can harvest. Im not an expert but i read a lot and never came across stopping a hermy. I read a thread that said the seeds will produce all females tho. If thats true it could be your silver linning. peace man:rasta:

Hey birdboy,
I actually wrote but could not post (server busy) an answer for you abr 4hrs ago. I am going to try and repeat it, sorta. I see you provided a pic now and all I can say it looks like a 'tard.
There is no need to cut off the bud, tho maybe you did. It would grow out ok just have some seeds in it. Willing to bet you will find more seeds when plants are done. The plants continue to grow as females, just seeded females.
The problem comes from what is called "naners", these are pollen sacks that are shaped like small green bananas located by the nodes. You need to check all your plants carefully for them and remove them. You can use your thumb and forefinger, but then dispose of them in a little cup with water.
Next you need to get a spray bottle and fill it with plain water. Spray your plants well to wet them all over. Then spray your pots, floor, walls, ceiling with water, this will render the pollen that may be around inert.
You need to keep checking your plants every other day for 'naners now, plus figure out how you stressed them and correct that. And next time try to keep an eye out for them.
Good Luck with them, it's not the end of the world. You have just created "feminized" seeds, maybe not the best genetics but fem seeds anyway.

Seeds don't spread seeds, only pollen can make a seed in the bud. The green thing you found in the bud is a seed pod. Over trimming during flower could possibly do it. More common is a light leak or disrupting the plants night cycle.
Some strains will turn on you very easy others strains take more abuse. But it is always a good idea to check your plants. BTW did you find anything near the node on any of the plants that could have been a pod at one time? It is very possible the plant with the seed is not the one with the naner, it could be any of them.

Although the water will render the pollen inert, you risk mold or budrot by overspraying. Don't go overboard, and resign yourself to either growing femmed seeds, (which is what you will end-up with) or harvesting early. If you harvest early you will likely end-up with those little popcorn seeds that explode in your pipe, if not found and removed.
