Yes, as when it pollinates itself it stops bud production in puts all it efforts into seeding the plant instead and will add weight in seed to your buds which to my understanding is something you want to avoid, unless of course you would like more seed for future grows!
Also, I've found out the easiest way to cover up all your light leaks is to sit in the dark in the room your growing in and go about sealing it from there. I got lucky on my last harvest and it finished up just before it started to really herm on me. :wtf: I will be keeping up with this log for sure though! Can't wait to see the blueberry! :D

there are many factors that could make a plant hermie, light and nute stress are merely two on a laundry list.
italiano is correct on the seeding issue. the buds start to grow bigger to increase their chance of catching pollen. there is no need to try to catch pollen anymore if you already have gotten some, hence no bud growth.
how much longer do you have to go til harvest?

I will probably be pulling it in the next couple days. I planned on harvesting in 1 to 2 weeks but maybe i should reconsider to avoid seed pods everywhere in the buds??
My local friend told me to not worry, that it was too late in the flowering for the buds to change..Good thing i asked some pros on here.

for the buds to change? what exaclty are you talking about?
the buds don't change at all, they just stop growing as the energy used to make them is now used in creating seeds.
you can let them finish. it take somewhere around 6 weeks plus (can be much longer, strain dependant etc) for mature seeds to form. you will still have premature seeds in your buds if you wait though.

Im gonna pull them in the next few days and dry them. The smoke probably wont be that good considering there two to three weeks premature but i am excited to just get something back for the money and time i have put in. curing pics coming soon...:)

First. More bad news. The ice is also creating seeds so that plant is gonna get the axe in the next week and get delivered to a lucky dumpster.I talked with some local growers and i am gonna let the hydro and soil blueberry crystals and hairs ripen for another week and then cut it. I was told that i will have lots of feminised seeds from the plant because it was a feminised strain to begin with. dont know if that true, but it would be nice to have tons of feminised seeds.:)
On the good side. My Nirvana Ice clones taken a week and a half ago have rooted succesfully. And my hashplant seeds from (bcseeds.com) are doing great two weeks in. Soon i will be adding some ak47 crossed with kali mist to the veg room... My flowering room will be having some new company very shortly.:smokin:
pics. 1. Currently vegging. 2. Nirvana Ice clone.

first off the seeds won't do you any good unless they are mature. as previously stated this can take up to 6 weeks or longer. also, once a plant hermies the seeds have a tendency to do the same. so yes those seeds will have female genetics, but they can possibly have a lot of problems.

But in short, I disagree with a lot of thoughts on seeds and cannabis.
Disgarding plants because they are seeding is extreme/crazy imo. Decades ago lots if not all cannabis was seeded. Quite a bit of this weed was not crappy swag but kind like Golds, Reds, Mich, Oaxacan, etc.. The Mexican and Columbian, Panamanian kinds were often seeded and very potent, much more potent than some of the sensi I've smoked in the last few decades. The downsides...less bag appeal, less commercial value, you have to separate them seeds to smoke. If I have a hermie late in bloom cycle I'll separate it from the rest and try and pick off the nanners, if I can. Otherwise I would never consider tossing the plant out or using it for butter or hash only.
Also, I've gotten some nice, dark, mature seed in as little as 3-4 weeks from pollination.
No personal digs meant here, just my personal opinion. :hippy:
