Sunshine mix - where on the East Coast can it be found?
The #4 is what I see a lot of growers using. Hopefully, you won't have salting problems anyway, but soil lightness is a good quality. REad the why I shoudl re-pot thread in the FAQs too, whcih will help you avoid the most common pitfalls of soilless growing.
I can't stand when sites stick their catalogs in .pdf... my Adobe likes to crash my browser :( It's a lot better since switching to FireFox but still loads up slower than molasses in January.

Yes totally agree took me forever to open then crash double time to just open. That #1 may be good to mix with the #4 the hydro store I deal with in Brooklyn can get 1-3-5 Immediatly I really want the #4 will see what happens. They said I could speak with the East Coast Sales Rep of the product which they always let me do. You know Cathy from Hydro Farm. She is so so so much Knowledge. Well my fathers day gift arrived. One of those $1800 mounatin bikes. I can't beleive she went that crazy

OK they said they could get it but WHEN? I dont think it will be in time being that PROMIX is light and airy. I feel that the medium is to light for all the roots in the BED. STINK WH SNS everyone do you think some type of top soil w/o pathogens should be added. The FF shit is enticing but the headaches are to follow. I went to all local nursery's I called SunGro the girl in the hydro shop gives me her cell#. I really want to just get something that i will be comfortable with. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.......

Tell your Hydro Shop to Order from Hydro Farm It is on the 2nd page of their wholesale catologue..... Good Shit #1 is the same just less perlite 5% to be exact.

I have seen people have success with this mixture:
1/3 Sunshine #4
1/3 MJR potting soil
1/3 Perlite
Specifically in containers. The plants i saw were the picture of health. What da ya'll think of that mixture?
I am using Aurora Innovations Roots Organic 707 20L grow bags. I planted right into the bags with no added anything. The plants seem to be taking to it. It was 21.95 a bag at my local hydroshop.
Actually i topdressed them with .5 Cuft of ffof. Basically just to cover the feeder roots on top

I think that the sunshine is great to blast them with NUTES and not have a Prob. (Knock on Wood) The FFOF adding is just a potential possible problem with lock out or burn. I feel the FF soil is very troublesome. That just IMO I've seen people work with it and have good results. The mix I'm using now is sunshine #1 It is the same soil compound just with 5% less perlite. I think they will like it better in the later stages time will tell....
Good Luck GL
