When you can find a link that provides information regarding "Past Presidents that attended churches where the Reverend gave hate speeches".....then I'll buy into this.
Like I stated with others in here....IF this shoe were on the other foot with either McCain or Clinton, the news agencys would be calling for their immediate withdrawl from the race.
Have a good one!:s4:

Holy shit, can you imagine McCain making the statement that Bruther Al Sharpton is just a "typical black person"........Sweet dear gezus.............
I was thinking that same exact thing when I heard the speech.
At first I was thinking I should vote ron paul, now,I am thinking maybe these Votes are rigged.
I think Jon Mccain will win, but I will vote Democrat maybe this year.
Maybe Hillary is a hopeful,I dunno.

You're saying that if McCain or Clinton called their grandmother a "typical white person," the news agencies would be calling for their immediate withdrawal from the race? Seems unlikely.

This whole stupid hullabaloo is not about "reverse racism." It's not about whites being portrayed as racists no matter what they say. This is about a black guy being portrayed as racist when he tried to day something meaningful about race relations.
You are right about one thing though, "Words are not the issue, behaviour is the issue."

Don't you think that is true? In my experience, a lot of white people who aren't necessarily racist still react funny when they meet blacks on the street.
I always hate it when black people jump on your exact wording when you are trying to make a point about race. How many times have you seen some poor white politician trying to make an honest effort to say something reasonable about race to a room of black people and make the mistake of saying something like, "You people."
"You people? YOU PEOPLE! How DARE you refer to us as 'YOU PEOPLE!'"
Now you guys are doing the same exact thing with Obama. Can't anyone get past this oversensitivity? This is why no one seems to be able to have a rational discussion about race. Here, I'll "sanitize" the quote for you so that it means the exact same thing but doesn't contain the offensive term "typical" that seems to have hurt your tender, delicate feelings so badly, "The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity, but that she is like a lot of white people. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know (pause) there's a reaction in her that doesn't go away and it comes out in the wrong way." There. Can you deal with that? It's an absolutely 100% true statement --- a lot of white poeple react to blacks in a way that comes off wrong, even if it doesn't come from racial animosity. Try to use your brain to think about what a person is saying.
You, Sir are very correct. You must be another one who sees. :wtf::cool:

I think he meant if Clinton or McCain called anyone a "typical black person", the media would give them a very hard time about it... possibly to the point of demanding that they withdraw from the race.
Obama deserves no special treatment because of his race. Even though Rev. Wright and Al Sharpton would be quick to claim otherwise, he's not anything special just because he's black. Nobody is special just because they're black, or white, or Asian, or Hispanic, or whatever. What makes the person is what's inside their heart and their deeds/actions, not the color of their skin. It amazes me that certain groups still wish to see their race get preferential treatment, just because of atrocities committed many years ago. They feel like society owes them something. Society owes them nothing, until they've done something to deserve preferential treatment. This goes for every race and nationality in this country. The day civil rights dictates who's 'entitled' to become our President is the day that I move to Holland. But I don't think I'll ever have to worry about that.

Or, they could be completely past all this racist shit. What he said was exactly "Wright" :D, as i can attest to my white grandmother who is afraid to go to walmart @ night because she thinks you will be robbed by blacks lol.
The only way to get past race is not to give such attention when someone says white, black, brown etc...

I can't see J.F.K. going to church, and listening to a priest who denounces blacks. That must be why he was the only Catholic president. Typical America.
