Dirty "Porta-Scrog" Experiment
I've been playing with the idea of a pot specific SCROG design, i'm glad to see the idea is already in play with other growers. I can get many colas with full LST, and i enjoy doing it, but i was considering doing a side by side porta-scrog full lst next grow to see what works better for me- for future convince.
I i'm very excited by your post, it gives me a lot more motivation to do it. How is your screen working for you so far?
Dirty "Porta-Scrog" Experiment
hey Skrappie, welcome to the experiment.
for the record,
the Blue Russian got caged on Jan 19.
this Mystery Red got caged Jan 20.
well, the Blue Russian, from the other log and the link for assembly pix, has relaxed quite a bit. she was in some hardcore bondage, only a few inches above the soil and is now stretchin up to and some thru the cage.
the lil one in this log got caged today and is still young and small, but follow along, it should be fun.:D
Dirty "Porta-Scrog" Experiment
couple days later, here we r.
change- the screen was lowered about 3 inches couple days ago, is now 6 inches from the soil.
supplementing with Liquid Light from Dutchmaster, first application was yesterday.
topped last week, and we are in middle of week 6 for veg.
thinking of moving this and the other 2 'reds' to flwr area now,,,,,,,opinions???
kinda need the space for the red cups to be upgraded:wtf:

Dirty "Porta-Scrog" Experiment
SNS, hey man, i been givin it some thought, cause mine is still in veg also.
i would say i am going to raise my screen back to where it was when i started, another 3 inches back up again, around 8-9 inches.
I am also thinking, that installing the screen this early, may be overkill. I think it would be easier to do some lite LST in veg, then install the screen when u move to flower.
I may remove the screen altogether tomorow, just to allow for some ez LST. I will decide when we visit.
your question,
i would say, no, not needed around the pot and probably not needed early. I'm still trying to figure it out myself.:D
and yeah, WeedHound kicks ass!:D
Dirty "Porta-Scrog" Experiment
because of how our setup is (show ya in the pics i post sun) im thinking about putting some little o hooks in the walls, and running 25lb test fishing line criss crossing the grow area for my screen...whatcha think?..thats if the ganja gods help these lEDs make enough bud to do a SCROG....lol
Dirty "Porta-Scrog" Experiment
SNS, i'm thinkin fishing line may be too thin.
not because the line would lack strength, but because it may be so thin, that it may cut thru the stalks as the plant pushes against them as its growing.
there can be significant pressure exerted by plants.
for example, look what plants do to sidewalks,,,,and thats concrete, ya know?:wtf:
and then theres the way creeping vines bust up old brick buildings too.
if ur willing to put something semi permanent in ur space, i would get a piece of small fencing, and call it done.
Dirty "Porta-Scrog" Experiment
so mine are still one their first sets of leaves. when should i start training them through wire? 5-6 internodes? should i top them more before or let them go single. if you wouldnt mind, take a look at my set up and give me some suggestions. i think the scrog will exceptionally help me since im doing the LEDs. would focus light better. thanks man
whiskeytango:jointsmile:
how would i mount the fencing? lke a table maybe with four legs?
Dirty "Porta-Scrog" Experiment
