New shoots on mature buds!??
That came out all wrong! I didn't mean any offence StinkyAttic, I meant it was me that didn't know what they were doing and didn't know what to do next as you said it depended upon whether it was bagseed or not, I said it was bagseed and needed just a lil follow up advice.
Planty plant got the chop anyway, all is good :)

Looking at that plant, I'm going to guess that you had 100 watt equivalent cfl's, not true 100w's, so you actually had about 100 watts. That's just not enough light. When talking about cfl's always refer to the actual wattage - the "equivalent" doesn't mean squat.

So CFL's are used because they run cooler? I thought CFL & Led were going to run cool and save energy.

The glass on my 65 watt cfl is 110f. The glass on my air-cooled 600w HPS is 103f. The 65w cfl cost about $12, including the socket it's screwed into. The 600w HPS, with related vents, fans, reflector, bulb etc. was around $650.
Some grows, because of their small size or enclosure, can only use cfl's. Other times, growers wish they had hid lamps but can't afford them so they do the best they can with cfl's. Once they grow their own smoke, instead of buying it, most people find they have a little more money they can save to buy hid lights.
LEDs, at this point, are not a fully developed technology. Some day they may be THE thing to grow with, but not today.

you sure? ive seen many posts suggesting that 3 26w cfls per plant is a good ratio? and 100w=4 26w cfls

Lol, seems this threads taken a swerve!
I've grown 2 plants now under my 4x100w cfl which is only actually 4x20 if you're looking at real wattage and not equivalent. Both plants have done well, not had loads off them, 1oz of the first and 1.5oz off the second, but both plants have grown pretty well, reached a good height and produced alright buds for someone that doesn't know what she's doing! I've put up a pic of my last crop.
The results would of course be better with more light but for somebody that just wants a lil bit o' percy every couple of months it seems adequate enough.
Here's some pics of my latest baby girl, put her into bud 3 days ago and the first pistils are there :D She was a stray seed out of a bag of lovely cheese, any ideas on the chances of her actually being cheese?? I know from apple growing that what you think you're planting ain't always the same as the parents! She looks like a nice indica anyway :hippy:
