It sounds like you should have this discussion with your girlfriend.
You disagree over whether you should smoke pot, so you do so in a way that may be drawing unnecessary attention to yourself and by extension could be putting both of you in danger if by some chance the police DID arrive, smell pot (that's all the 'probable cause' they need to enter your home), and charge you or both of you with possession. Worst case scenario.
On the other hand, if the neighbors already dislike you enough that you suspect they are capable of pulling a slimeball maneuver like that, you have bigger problems.
Time to offer to help your neighbors shovel their driveway next time it snows... a little ass kissing goes a LOOOOOONG way.
And really, anything you are doing in a home should be to the approval of everyone who has to live there. You guys should chat.

what i do is go up to my attic, which is vented out the roof. if smoke goes up from the roof vent, nobody is gonna smell it cuz smoke rises, and if for some reason the smoke falls and somebody smells it, they will have no idea where it came from.
im paranoid like u man, it sucks, but if it pays for your freedom one time, its all worth it

I'd say have a few words with your neighbors. If you think about it, your neighbor is almost like a roommate. Where I live, the houses are like 5-10 feet apart lol so going out the window you are basically face to face with a neighbor...my friend's old house was 3 feet apart from the neighbors, and we'd go onto the 3 feet of roof that connected the houses together and smoke on there.
Most people aren't dicks, but I'm not gonna say no one is going to call because there will always be the type of people that call police for anything because they 'worry for their children' or w/e. In their own minds, they are doing the right thing and no one can tell them no, you get it? But chatting it up with the neigbhors, or simply saying "hi" and smiling at first or something can really do a lot more than you think.
Also as someone mentioned, the talk with your girlfriend. Let her know that you love her and would choose her over the ganja anyday, but it shouldn't have to be that way. That's like if someone said "choose...your wife or your left arm" Just because you'd choose your left arm over your girlfriend in a scenario like that doesn't mean you have to do it in real life.
Basically if she loves you the way you love her, she should more accepting of it. It's a little hobby you like to do...it's not like you're a wreckless alcoholic who comes home every day to beat her. If you're still with you it's because you're treating her right. Let her know how important she is to you and how much you value your relationship with her, but that you also enjoy to smoke here and there to let loose and unwind, but you still knwo what you're doing and not letting it intervene negatively in your life.
She should be understanding...i know my girlfriend is...she just hates when i kiss her with weed breath but i counteract that with her 'ashtray breath' after smoking cigarettes so it's a little inside joke we got between each other. I'm weedman and she's the human ashtray ;)

If a gf doesn't tolerate something I do that I really enjoy, then we don't have enough in common. Plus it's soo easy to find something you hate that they do...or watch...or wear..etc.. that you can use on your side. Yes that can cause a bigger issue possibly, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do...:jointsmile:

If you are talking about the U.S. you are totally wrong. To begin with "probable cause" has no bearing whatsoever upon the entering of a dwelling. As a cop you either have a warrant, or you are given egress. There is no such thing as "probable cause" even in the grand request for a warrant from a judge. Either you have witness to a crime, or you don't.
