No offense but isn't this just a bit dramatic? I don't recall "slavery" being and issue for YEARS.

No it's not if you can understand the different forms of slavery.

Do you honestly believe that we can pursue the lifestyle we would like?

Why not? I decided instead of a short haircut, suit, ties, etc...to get a Harley, let my hair grow out and go into the maintenance field of work. I CHOOSE to go no further with my education since I already have a degree so this is my field UNLESS I choose to do otherwise. Education determines job status and we all have the choice on what to pursue.
Home life; I currenty live with a lady 21 years younger than me....MY CHOICE. Also, if she decided that one of her girl friends would like to make me a Psycho sandwich on a regular basis I don't see anyone breaking down my door saying that I can't do it.
Who owns me? NOBODY! I choose to go where I want and where I want. I see whoever I choose to see and likewise, flip off those that I feel are a waste of my precious time.
If this is slavery........Master is awfull good to me.:D

Do you decide where you tax dollars go? Can you smoke weed freely? Can you walk down the street after sitting in the bar for a few hours without being stopped and arrested for public intoxication? How much control do you have over your own property? How long will you pay taxes on that property? Can you carry a weapon freely without having to get a gun permit? These are just a few examples on how much of your individual freedom you don't have control over. The best way to enslave a society is to make them think they're free and have choices.

1) That's the governments job....I try to elect officials that are within my beliefs as far as spending.
2) In my house....hell yeah. Nobody breaking down my doors for doing nothing. Granted it's illegal but still....they don't stop me.
3) After a few hours? DAMN...ease off on the shots my friend! LOL If your drunk to the point that they'll pick ya up you really shouldn't be on the streets anyways. Don't see how this relates to slavery at all.
4) I have total control of my property whether I want to keep it, give it away, or destroy it.
5) I'm also in favor of a complete change in the tax code....another issue.
6) No gun permits........sure would be great for the bangers. No, I can't but I'm also realize why this is a good thing.
If your going to look at the negatives and dwell on that; hell yeah...it would seem like gloom and doom. I look at all that I can do BECAUSE of the system we live in and appreciate the freedoms that I do have and enjoy daily. Slaves have NO freedoms...they're owned.

I agree. To call what we have in the US slavery is to really diminish the idea of slavery. It's not fair to those who suffer real slavery.
When you evaluate the American system, you need to compare it to what went before in history and to what it's like in the rest of the world. Our freedoms and opportunities here now in the US are far better than in most of history and better than in most of the rest of the world. It's certainly not perfect, but it compares well to what has been accomplished in other places and other times. If you ever don't appreciate what you have here, talk to someone who came here from somewhere else --- that has always been an eye-opener for me.
The only "slavery" I ever feel in my life is the need to spend more time working than I like to make ends meet and sometimes having to do work I don't really enjoy --- the idea of the wage slave. The real problem there is the mental slavery of consumerism, but you can always opt out of that system if you want to. If you choose to cut back on the material goods that you need from society, you can cut your expenses so much that your time can be pretty much your own.

No it's not the Federal Governments job. The only responsibility they have are to ensure are liberty's are not violated.
2. That is my argument of control. They have no right to tell you whats bad for you. Cigarettes are bad, but they're legal.
3. No I am 21 and I can legally drink. If I decide to walk home rather than drive I don't think that I should be arrested.
4. I don't know how it is in your state but in mine I can not put whatever I want on my property. I am talking about having a chicken coup and not something that would offend anyone. Also my family has land that has been in our family for over 100 years but still they have to pay ridiculous amounts of property tax.
6. Gun permits have nothing to do with your history. There is already a background check on everyone who purchases a weapon which I am in favor for. I do not think I need to have a permit once I have been considered safe to own a gun.
