While I hear what you're saying Buck.... i personally have little respect for our American Government. We're supposed to be land of the free and more and more of our personal freedoms keep getting taken away. While I'm not saying I hate my country... I am quite unhappy with it and the decisions our government has made. As for moving to Amsterdam.... that's a bit on the extreme side Toking_With_Jesus... especially if you've never been there. Just check it out before you decide to start your life over there... because life isn't always greener on the other side. As for me, personally.... I am almost done with highschool and will probably stay in the states for a few more years... though I am seriously debating moving to Canada.... a place I'd much rather be than here... but that's a pesronal opinion. Peace Out!

yeah ive been to holland many times, check it out before u move there, it can be different to what people expect, like most of europe more expensive than the us, outside of amsterdam its quite conservative with no countryside (forest, hills, anything).
on the upside (besides the obvious), the girls are beautiful, the nightlife is good and it centrally located to the rest of the continent, germany france and the uk are but a short journey away.
My ultimate place to live would be southern spain, the weather, people and relaxed attitude suit me down to the ground.
Saying all all this, i believe in the the old adage "wherever you go, there you are", if your happy within the world around you doesnt matter as much, theres ups and downs to every place ya just gotta find inner peace........
if i sound like a stoned rambler its because i am

Thank you for your kind words. A few responses I want to make out to:
for those of you that disdain me for hating my own country (buck) I am happy that you love your country, but remember, the country and the government are 2 brothers that work in synergy. There is no such thing as loving your country, but having your government, its illusion. By being a "proud" patriot of America, you are supporting the government, and that includes supporting the manifestations of War, keeping the upper-class rich and the poor poor, criminalization of Marijuana, and the policy of George W. Bush. Some call me a communist, but I believe in freedom of rationalization and thoughts.
Yes, I have heard that Amsterdam sometimes doesnt live up to it's hype. The rainy and cloudy days DO dominate the atmosphere, but what the fuck does rain and clouds dominating the horizon mean, when your stoned the fuck out of your mind eh? As for the trip, I will most definite probably go to Amsterdam this summer, and check it out to validate the authencity of it's hype bestowed upon us by the review sites. Shit man, I could just envision this...everybody from this forum will save up, and one day we'll all meet up at the 'dam on a nice sunny day! Ill get back to everybody, my dealer just called and has the 8th of ak-47 ready for me, wooooo hoooooo~!

Have any of you guys ever thought about/had gone to college in Amsterdam/Holland? I hate this fucking country (USA) its gay, and I nearly throw up when I see the American flag (thats why when we say the pladge at school, I stay in my sit, and stick my middle finger up the flag. I want to start a new life in Amsterdam, where I can have freedom to express myself. There is no greater freedom feeling than sitting down on a curb with your friends and toking up the loaded bong on a crowded street corner in the city. Let me tell you...life is about fulfilling your desirements, indulging in pleasure, and living the FREE LIFE. Life was NOT made to work more than 3/4 of your entire life. If somebody works all their life, what is the fucking point of living huh????? As for financial stability, ill make a fortune off some invention or something, and live the rest of my life in peace. Let me tell you...doing nothing but working and sleeping makes you a victim of capitalism. By working, you become a slave of the currency, and your life revolves around with obessesion of attaining more funds. Can anybody relate to my feelings and plans? What do you think about going to college in the 'dam?
See... this is all why I'm moving to Vancouver. Marijuana isn't not legalized.. but there ARE some legislations going through, and things are changing. I want to do what I can.. If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem, you know? I don't like America too much myself, and so I'm doing something about it- moving out. It's good to see you are too, man.
I say take a chance, see the world. Ultimately it's your decision, so good luck. And if you want to come visit in Vancouver, I'll be there.

How are you going to go to college in holland? You speak dutch? They have english classes for the dutch kids, but i dont think you can take classes in english instruction. I loved amsterdam, and i love the dutch countryside too. I didnt find it boring at all. I find north american mini malls, parking lots, and drive thru burger joints boring.
I think it rained twice in the week i was in amsterdam, and the rest of the time i spent smoking weed on patios in the sun, and i went in april. There are a few downsides to amsterdam, like junkies, but i already see them and crack heads every day where i live right now, at least the ones in amsterdam dont have guns.
If freedom to you means a gun and a bible, stay in america. But if you want to be able to smoke weed and pick a hooker out of a window then go to holland. Weed is not going to be legal in your lifetime in america, too many jesus freaks who want to tell you its a sin to god. If you can live with that, stay. If you dont want to live your life in a pro war religious theocracy then move. Holland is way ahead of every other nation on every social issue, euthanasia, gay marriage, drugs, prostituion. Dont listen to people who tell you the taxes are too high either, they have the best social programs in the world. Try finding a dutch girl to marry, that might make moving easier.

I wish I could help show you the light... I recommend investigating our Constitution, Bill of Rights, Dec.of Indep. as well as the Federalist Letters, among many other historical documents which recorded the priciples our country is (was) based on. You may find it quite enlightening... But its not worth my time to try and preach it too you, if you give a shit you can find out for yourself :)

After reading this i jst get pissed off more and more about the fact that the legalization ballot votes didnt pass in Alaska, USA (Votes: 43% to 57%). now i dont live in alaska, but i sure as hell wouldnt think twice bout movin there if it was passed. I would bet any money on if they gave it a try with one state, the government would be overwhelmed with the number of people that move there and the increase of TAX. Plus when you have a dabate as devided as 43 to 57 percent thats jst a red flag to the government that something has to be done. AND thats just alaska! Imagine how the vote would be in California! at least 60% would say yes. so yea, FUCK THE SYSTEM. its jst harder when your living in it.
-thats my two cents.
PEACE
