What's jail or prison like???
I spent 7 years in the California Dept of Corrections with the #J-15260 arrested March 3rd 1994 for forgery and convicted of Grand Theft. I dis-charged my parole on January 19th 2000 and in that 7 years that was only supposed to be 16 months with a 3 year parole, I managed to get busted 7 times and found out the hard way how prison sucks ass.
When I was doing my 4th parole violation in Tahachapi prison, I got into a fight with a Nazi Low Rider and beat him down so I could have my jaw broken by another Nazi Low Rider because I did not take the dive and cower to a man that I knew was a homosexual punk on the street and a wannabe tough guy in prison.
I refused to roll with a gang when I did my time and was respected for it, especially after my incident with the NLR prison gang.
I have been in county jails from here to New York's Suffolk County Jail in Riverhead and can tell you this, being incarcerated sucks more than anything I can imagine and is no place for anyone that has any kind of morales.
Since I quit doing drugs and drinking alcohol, I do not get into trouble with the law and my life is great. All my friends know of my past and do not hold it against me because I was a different person then. If you can consider a useless piece of shit drug addict a person that is.
Prison/jail sucks and you do not want to go there, trust me on that.

If people choose to engage in violent behavior or choose to steal, there will be consequences for it because they are real crimes and they deserve to be in jail with people of their own kind. I don't tolerate that shit myself.
I don't believe people should be in prison for drug use though. Drug "abuse" is a health concern and not a criminal matter. Hold people accountable for their actions and not for what they put into their body. Arrest the people who are killing others over turf so they can sell their crack.
Although prison is crowded with drugs, violent people do not smoke weed. They wouldn't be violent if they did.
When I get into an argument, it is all verbal and never physical. I never resort to violence. The violent ones are the people running and smoking crack and shooting heroin and speed. Happens all the time and its a shame.
If i were a federal judge, drug prohibition laws would be struck down immediately because no one deserves to be in jail simply for using or possessing personal amounts of any drug. But if you're high on crack and your robbing people, than your ass is going to jail.
BTW, you can generally tell people who are of "lesser character" too. Sometimes you really can tell a book by its cover.

it's not like the movies portray it being.... and for those who haven't went they all have this picture in their head of how it's going to be, and it's nothing like that....
it is hell.... it's boring as fuck, and you will have to fight unless you wanna get punk'd the whole way through your stay there.... even if you know you won't win you better fight back, even they beat your ass and they know they can, if you fight, they find someon else, who won't fight... someone they can walk up to and take their tray and they won't say shit....
but DO NOT go up in there like you're some hard ass... as that will draw everyone on you like flies on shit... stay quiet, do your time, fight when you have to, other then that try to stay to yourself... and never EVER snitch for any reason... even if they aren't involved, pretty much everyone in your unit/cell block will hate your ass and take ever oppurtunity to maek your life a living hell if they know you're a snitch...

jail is pretty easy but boring as fuck.
i have never been to prison but from what i heard, you dont want to be in there.
if your soft, cant fight, and or nice you will get punked out or theyll beat your ass.

snitching in jail is worse then snitching some one out on the streets.... about a week befor i got out of jail... i was bunked up with a guy... and he was always pissing me off... well... i called him a fucked up fucking idiot... and he got all but hurt about it... and ran off basicaly crying and told the guard...
well latter on, after rec, the guard came and pulled him out of our cell(they rarely pull you out of your cell after rec, during the guards break unless your going down to see the nurse...(it takes 2 minutes to get to the nurses office, and 2 minutes back...) this guy was gone for about 1 minute... and he came back in and said god damn that nurse is fucking stupid... and thats when i was like ok... im flushing all contraband right now.... and so i flushed my pens and penciles... the set of dice i had in my room.... the monoply boat... a few paper clips.... and 2 sets of cards(your only alowed to have one deck of cards in your cell were i was locked up at) and about 30 seconds after flushing the last card... they opend my cell... and serached it.... and i got put on lock down, because i told the kid as i was flushing everything, that if he said something to the guards... and they come in here and question me about anything, im kicking your ass... well he told them i said that... i got serached... they took the phone numbers of a few homies(2 of them back because i said that they were my cusians numbers, and the rest of the numbers i had were of people that were in my unit) but anyways, i knew i was getting out soon... so i didnt do anything about it... but i had 2 friends that were looking at 5 years...(the most i would have done was a year and got out because they droped a charge down to 3rd degree instead of 2nd degree) but anyways... while i was on lock down, my homie, who was looking at 5 years already, just beat the shit out of this kid... for snitchiing on me...
but personaly... im not sure what prison is like... ive only been in jail... wich is way different from prison... but i would have rathered of gone to prison... from what i hear the food is better... you have more free time...in the one i would have went to, you are alowed to have a CD player... they have a school were you can actualy get a GED... or become a certified welder....

One of my friends got out of prison like a year ago after doing 3 years for robbing a mcdonalds. What he told me was pretty much like stuff off of Lock Up or whatever its called on MSNBC. He always wanted to play speed or card games when we were smoking and had nothing to do, he said he would hustle people for snack cakes playing cards. He never said anything about fighting but he is the kind who wouldnt admit to getting their ass beat. When he was getting out everone punched him in the arms until they were bruised, he said that if he got sent back the that prison that eveyone would do the same thing but on his face.....and he got sent back a few months later....too bad for him, thats why you got to check in with your PO. But I never asked him about any sexual shit that went down cause I didnt want to piss him off, But he said that his cell mate liked this one diet infomercial where the girl had a really big ass in her before picture. Overall it sounded like he had a pretty shitty time. I think it would suck ass to go to prison but I dont think I would be dead either, Im not afriad to fight even if Ill lose as long as I dont look like a bitch.

It's not so bad. You get to lift weights, take long showers, write up appeals, lift weights.
