Is it like the movies?

do u 100% have to join agang?
do ppl get fucked up by other inmates or is that just TV?
TV makes it look so fun

I think this is a good idea for a thread and it'll be pretty interesting to see some answers but i definitely dont think TV makes it look fun.

It's hell... 6 days a week you sit in da same spot... you may come across weed once every 2 weeks... you can't piss in privacy... or shit.... it's hell for real

ok im being very serious here but TV and movies always put a lot of emphasis on the whole shower scene. what goes on there. Do you just shower and get out, or is there some funny business going on?

To answer your questions in order...

It is sort of like the movies.

Yes.

You don't neccassarily have to join a gang, if you either know enough people or can defend yourself pretty well you will survive. It just depends on what type of hate people have for you. Sometimes, it really is in your best interest to join a gang, but if you can beat alot of peoples asses, you eventually start to get a little respect. Or, if the ass you beat happened to be a high-ranked AB or MM head, you might end up getting killed. It all depends.

Yes, people get fucked there.

You think that sounds fun? Go to prison, come back, and tell us how it went. Guarantee you that if you go in there with the "Let's have fun!" mindset you will most likely end up being beaten by the people that are doing 25 or life. It's not fun at all. You don't really have any freedom, and in some prisons, even the guards rape you. Guard brutality is not uncommon in prisons at all, and since they use nightsticks, pepperspray, tasers, and they even put on SWAT gear, if they want to pick on you you are pretty much fucked and you can't even hit back because hitting that gear would hurt you more than it would them. And forget about thinking a prison-quality shank would go through a SWAT vest. So you are completely defenseless against the guards. But I gotta tell you, I'd rather do a 5 year US sentence than a two month Indian or Afghani sentence. Still, it's not fucking fun (unless you like being beaten and being everybody's personal bitch)


Edit: And about the shower scene, in the showers, alot of jumps happen. That's when you don't have anything to hide, so it's easy for alot of people to rush someone and kill them (especially with a fresh bar of soap) Some common weapons inmates use are a few hard bars of soap inside a sock, and a quick swing across one's head and he's be OUT. Shower rapes aren't actually as common as you'd think...atleast, they aren't that common down here.

If you drop da soap, it's OVER... that shyt iz real... i said fuck i didn't use soap! i ain't tryin to impress no body... i was seein da same people err day!! ain't no need for bein clean lol... but you have to be scared for your life at nite, in da mornin and pretty much 24/7....

ok well i kno a little about this because my cousin got 2 years in county for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (lived in a commonwealth VA) and had a lb and some change on him...and my uncle got 26 in state pen for cocaine distribution...county jails arent fun but much more easy to deal with then state...cuz u only go to state pen for large charges so everyone there is doing real time, murderers petafiles rapists gangbangers u name it their there...drugs run the show there, gangs own the drugs so yea tvs right in that sense, typically if u stick to urself ull be ok but u never know if these people were all the way on the rocker to begin with they prolly wouldnt be in the penitentiary

most jails don't suffer from gay sex issues, only in prisons where the long staying gentelman are looking for a soul mate... in fact an average jail is homophobic... you shit infront of other people... and the jail couldn't care about your court case, if your innocent, of if you have pnemonia
