No, there will never be a stop to piracy not matter how much they crack down, its a revolution that was started by a quiet 19 year old highschool drop out named shawn fanning who programed "Napster". I dont think the bands are missing out on money like people above said, TRUE fans will always buy the cd's and will always pay to see them live and thats where the real money is. The people who are bitching are always the ones that dont need the money, they are the ones with 20 cars and 3 mansions livin the life. STFU ALL YOU GREEDY PEOPLE! PEACE NOT GREED!

To add to that the last CD I bought was prob 4-5 years back, ive never bought a legit copy of microsoft windows or office and dont plan on it, none of my games are legit and i dont ever plan on them being legit. 50$ for a game that you will beat in 2 days then get bored with it WTF IS THIS. A 25$ dvd that you will watch a few times then throw on the movie collection rack and not watch until next year. 9$ for a fucking movie ticket + 15$ for a drink and some popcorn GREEDY MOFOS!

I have no conscience-problem with getting music off p2p programs. Wanna know why? The "film and music industries" (which in this case, refers ONLY to Hollywood and the grandiose music coportations) deserve it. Anyone see/hear the shit coming out of the radio/mtv and movie theatres? What garbage! It seems only fair that I take a listen or look see to make sure that the quality is there, instead of wasting $10 at a movie gallery or $20 on a cd. (that's another thing...why are CDs still so fucking expensive?!?! they've been the same price since I was born. Each cd costs about $1 to press...that's 1900% profit for every cd sold. And guess how much of that goes to the artist? Very very little, my friends. In Canada, if a band goes three times gold, they'd be lucky to get sixty grand--for an album that received 6 MILLION in sales. Who's the one that's really getting ripped off here?...musicians make their pay by touring, and their music is what brings crowds to the shows. What better way to get your music out there than through the internet?).
In reality, only the big corporations are losing out on the money, and I don't give a fuck about them. Independant film companies and record labels are thriving off this e-movement, and that's where the real art comes from. So in conclusion...YAy P2P :)

So long as the RIAA and MPAA learn to use them as tools. Just like they had to learn to use the radio, VCR, or any other tech.

Also not the BitTorrent is not annonmous. I try not to download files that I know are illeagal and people are sueing over.

if anything it will get me to buy a cd,,if i hear a song i like even if i can download them wont be the same as having a factory cd,and info it contains

it has already ruined them, people are starting to relize just how greedy these companies are becasue they have now started suing people who are using these applications. Even when there is no proof that p2p has any negative affects on either the music industry or the movie industry.
