When I went to community college that was a 30 minute drive away..I loved that damned drive. It would get me all psyched for class..I would just blare the music and sing my little heart out....I looked forward to that drive. It was nice...
The drive back was the one that sucked though....

...now my drive to school is only like 8 minutes..but whatever..makes it a nice drive back!

I lived on campus for awhile...and yeah it was nice having my classes like literally accross the street..but student housing sucked my asshole.

My gpa in high school was 3.8. I took a few ap classes but I have a stigma of not taking any classes seriously so I didnt do good enought o get any credit.

College is for so so far is alot easier than high school it seems. Everything is more laid back. You have to write some harder and longer papers but besides that its about the same or even easier. I dont even go to half my classes and I get Bs in most of my classes. If I really applied myself im sure I could ace all the classes.

Exactly. College is pretty much cake once you get the hang out it. I can whip out a 10 page paper in 4 hours and get a B on it.

Why just a few weeks ago I whipped out a 7 page paper in 3 hours...got it back Tuesday..and I ACED that biotch. I thought it was a really hard subject matter too. I literally did it right before class..hahaha.

Anyway, college is easier for me because I find it more interesting than high school. Sure I ditch a class here and there, or I leave early...so yeah, I am sure I would get A's if I applied myself..rather than the B's I'm getting now.

..but I'm chill with B's. There's a saying...."C's get DEGREEs!"...hahah.

I feel what I learn in college better applies to my real life and I like to learn it. Learning is fun!

i slacked off MAJOR in junior and senior year. i earned maybe a 2.3 GPA and didnt study for the SATs. I'm regretting it cause I didnt get accepted to any of the colleges I applied to, I ended up going to my safety school. it isnt so bad, but I know that if I hadn't fucked around so much, I would be at a better college.
So now I'm working really hard, getting 3.2 last semester, I'm trying to transfer. As mush as it blows, it really does pay off to work hard. I hate the whole system but there's no way out of it. I went to a private school with brilliant, driven kids. We were all flashed these bright and shiny private colleges that were so cool and so edgy. All of my friends ended up going to really great places like Barnard, Cornell, Hawaii Pacific, Brown and Drexel. I was almost guaranteed that I would get into a really great school. But I took advantage of that and suffered the consequences. Pull yourself together. College is amazing, but you have to work to get there.

yea some of u are the exact people i cant stand(school wise) i dont understand how u hav a 1.0 or 2.0 gpa and still get into a college. im taking ap spanish ap biology ap geometry ap world geography and ap english. all this and some dickheads dont do shit and still end up getting into college without even trying. idk sometimes it seems pointless. also sometimes since these classes are harder my gpa isnt quite what it would be if i took a regular class. would colleges rather see a little bit higher gpa or all the ap classes?

well honestly half of getting into college is your extra-curriculars and performance in class. not the grades you get, but how you apply yourself. I was a good kid, I made real friends with my teachers and they reflected that in my personal reports. Your teachers have to write reports about you and send them in. I of course picked the teachers that I was friends with, so they wrote accordingly. One of them was my AP Spanish teacher, whose class I always excelled in.
also I was very involved in my community. I did a lot of builds for habitat for humanity and I tutored after school and organized a county-wide bike drive for poor local folks who needed bikes. these are the things that got the admissions board's attention. you also have to send in a list of extra-curriculars and awards, not just your transcripts.
I also wrote thank-you letters to the admissions people when I visited and emailed the offices frequently. I was a rela stick in the mud, I made it a point to make myself known. I scheduled meetings with the admissions boards and with the heads of the foreign language department. they really like it if you stick your neck out there
so while my grades were mediocre, i was acting like a star student.
remember, its more than just good grades. supposedly colleges are looking for good people, not just good grades.

The only AP class I took was english/literature, and let me tell you - it definitely paid off! If I put effort into a paper, I get at least a B. On papers that I am passionate about, I never get anything other than an A. Being able to write well is a HUGE asset in University for sure.

As for University in general, it's pretty awesome. I really liked last year, but I have sort of lost motivation this year. It's super important to choose classes you like, and are interested in. That's what will keep you going. Good luck! :)

ok well im in 9th grade so u think it'd be ok to just chill this year or should i just say fuck it and start working hard now? ...id really like to just chill lol

9th and 10th grade are the most important ones. If you do good during those years you can slack a little junior year, then if you don't do too bad junior you can do nothing senior year.

^^^ i was always told its sophomore and junior year. after all, junior year is when youre supposed to start looking for colleges.
