They should dry up and leave a little sorta dried-pumpkin-vine-ish appendage in not too long- if you wanna staunch the flow, treat it like any other vascular system. Usually die back as far as the node below the cut.

Seriously, if it's got you freaked out, you can use whatever to bandage/tourniquet the flow- rubber cement, cling wrap and rubber bands, string tied tightly enough to constrict phloem, whatever.

Oh- I'm pretty sure that Serenade is Bacillus Subtillus- copper just don't smell that bad.

Hey Rhizome, Thanks very much for stopping by...sorry this nutness is on T-day.

I took PC's suggestion and paper clipped with some paper towels and big black clips. There were some black edges starting elsewhere so I clipped them back) like 1/4 inch and since they have dried they look much more normal.....no sogginess or blackness to them with the little space heater near them blowing warm dry air.

It's actually pretty interesting to see.....as I said I would not have thought of this one myself but I think if we can get through this part she has a chance. The newer cuts look much better than the old wet ones. There are only few spots left that havent dried up so she's got some X-mas decorations on and Im changing the paper towels as needed. The rest of her looks pretty darn happy considering she's suddenly bald and half size.

This may amaze you guys.....but I'm really NOT like this at my job.....just around my plants.. :D

may try filling that hole. its for h2o, not o2.

put some safe glue or plastic wrag around it to seal it

WH, i agree with the experts here, plant is definately reacting and stopping the flow would be 1st concern.

glad it sounds like its getting under control a lil bit.

for the largest ones you mite try wrapping a metal twist tie or a thin cheezy paperclip that you can twist, maybe use pliers to help?

Quick report: So far so good....have 3 paper clips jobbies on the worst stuff and the rest seemed to have calmed down.......she looks no worse than earlier which I take as a positive sign.

I always remember somewhere in the back of my head hearing somebody (god knows who....Mom?) telling me NEVER CRUSH THE TRIMMED STEM ENDS OR THE PLANT WOULD IMMEDIATELY GET RABIES or something along that line so I was actually afraid to do that but it really IS the only way I can see to get it under control.

On the plus side.....dinner was great. :) But honestly she does look more stable to me and her ph has stablized (it was rising rapidly yesterday) so that sounds positive too I think.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and the moral support.....aren't you glad I don't do this every WEEK? :D

Yes.....Serenade IS Bacillus Subtillis....not a drop of copper in it. I just went and looked at the label.

So are you saying its normal for the ends to turn black like that down to the next node and I'm just a freaked out nut for nothing? Well color ME a peanuthead........:wtf:

I tried that before the paper clamps - the plants really didn't like it too much. They're fine now, with big fat buds that'll be ready for harvest in about three weeks, but at first they did kind of a rough transplant type of thing.

OK WH, once again just get it under control. No sense loosing it when you've come so far.

I have seen this many times in my plants, but I must admit not that bad. Any of my older stems are usually hollow like that. If you prick me do I not bleed? Same with a plant, usually. The reason I bleed is because my blood pressure is higher inside me than the air pressure is outside me. Same with a plant. There actually is pressure in the plant pushing the moisture and nutrients wherever it needs to go, and if you cut a limb off, it is normal for at least a little stuff to ooze out. It's just that in your case, it happens to be a lot. I've never seen them actually drip before. Maybe your plants are just so healthy that the stuff has too pour out, whereas mine are not as healthy so the stuff just kinda forms an ooze at the cut. Your plant does look very healthy for a plant at harvest time. Usually you see at least some yellowing leaves.

I have never done a thing to the ends of mine that do that, and everything works out fine. Most people say that you should cover the hole so that any diseases don't spread to the inside of the plant. Well, I my plants don't have diseases, so I don't worry about it, and the hole eventually kind of scabs over. I noticed Rhizome said that those parts of the plant will die off down to the next node. Obviously he has seen this happen, so I guess you should expect it. Mine have always healed though.

I have my doubts that blackish stuff is a fungus. It's been awhile since I revegged a plant, so I can't really remember if mine had that or not. However it kind of seems like they had something that was at least similar to that. Long story short I would not scrape it off or cut it off. It is trying to heal IMO, and just like one of your wounds, it will heal faster if you don't keep taking the scab off. Instead, if you're worried about a fungus, I would spray an antifungal on it.

A page or two back you said that you got some tips from Rhizome. If you don't mind, please share any that I have not covered. I'm always willing to learn the right way of doing things, and he usually has some good tips.
