The strangest food that you actually ENJOYED
We've probably all tried some STRANGE food, but it's not always pleasant.
Have you found one you thought you'd hate, but didn't?
I'll go first...
Dark chocolate chipotle frozen yoghurt. Holy shit, that stuff is delicious!!! Chocolate and chilies are a great combination, but I'd only ever had it in mole... this was FANTASTIC.
Those little fried baitfish served at Korean restaurants come in second. They are surprisingly palatable, but I'm not going to run out and buy a packet.

Are you talking about those fish with huge eyes? When I lived in Okinawa everyone loved them and I thought they were really gross looking.
-

I don't know if it's the same, but they are like 2 inches long, silver, thin, and heavily salted.

I think you would know if we were talking about the same thing. The ones I'm talking about are around the same size and color but they have huge black eyes. They sell them in bags like chips in Japan. Maybe elsewhere in Asia as well
-
The strangest food that you actually ENJOYED
Okay, probably not the same, these have silver eyes.
Have you seen a bagged-fish product called "FishSnax"? I think it's Japanese in origin... good for bait, but not for eating!
-
The strangest food that you actually ENJOYED
no, but I can imagine any bagged fish product from japan wouldnt be very good by western tastes. They have all types of crazy snack foods there. Being a picky eater I was too scared to try a lot of them. They have some really good candy though.

alegator ... i was told it was pop corn chicken, and I really liked it.
I was mad I found out that it wasn't because I had been in florida and I went on a airboat ride where I had just seen a ton.

I used to love chicken feet when I was a kid in China. I still enjoy them occasionally now but I realized that they don't really have much to offer..just skin and tasty sauce.

Keep enjoying them, because from everything that I have read and heard, chicken feet soup is incredibly nutritious. I forgot to add that to my list; I once worked at a Chinese restaurant and that was what they made us to drink with our dinner- I don't think my hair has ever looked so healthy as it did then, and my nails were like steel.

Head cheese is made by taking all the little bits of meat off a pig's head and cooking it in a mold. It all sticks together and keeps the shape of the mold and it's sliceable.

I think the strangest thing I have ever eaten was Fruit Bat stew.... it was really good. I had some turtle gumbo too.... that was incredible.... almost as good as sex, only cleaner :D
-
The strangest food that you actually ENJOYED
alot of these things aren't strange... they're just uncommon.... like rabbit, bat, snake, aligator, turtle etc... it's all just meat from an animal... it's just not one of the more common animals people eat such as lamb, cow, pig etc...
now the headcheese thing and blood pudding, and bugs... those are kinda strange... i dunno if you see where i'm going with what imean or not... but most of these are just muscle tissue from animals not commonly eaten... so it's not really strange... just uncommmon o.0
-
The strangest food that you actually ENJOYED
rattlesnake for me. was pretty juicy but way tooooo many bones. was a bitch to get any meat from.
-
The strangest food that you actually ENJOYED
Yeah, I don't see any value whatsoever in eating snake meat. Far too many bones. I've tried that, too, but it wasn't nearly as strange to me as a handful of salted, fried grasshoppers.

it's actually pretty good.... it's got a tougher texture then chicken, but the flavor is pretty much the same.. (lol it's actually one of the only things that really does taste like chicken) but yeah, it's got more of a steak texture, and the taste of chicken... more juicy and flavorful then chicken tho...
