no drainage holes

Hi all. I've been growing in plastic storage containers. From the size of 4 inch pots to 2.5 gallon containers. I don't want the containers to get too big, I still need to carry them around.

So to prepare a container I put a one inch layer of pumice. To that I add a layer of fresh chicken manure. Then I top with potting soil and put the plants or seeds in. I water till the soil looks wet and then I allow the soil to dry out.

The reason I like this method of growing in soil is because there is no water drainage mess. Besides everytime you water with drainage holes your nutes are being flushed out too.

YOU DONT FIND THAT THE CHICKEN SHIT IS TOO HOT? I THOUGHT IT WOULD FRY PLANTS IF NOT MIXED WITH SOIL.

No, not all all. This stuff is really fresh. Like wet fresh. It never burns the plants. I don't know why all the experts say to age chicken manure first. I have never seen it burn.

I put in a layer of chicken manure across the pumice . The plants love it. I tried one container with chicken manure and one without. The plant with chicken manure was larger and the stocks were bigger too. I've got plenty of free chicken manure in my backyard.

Well dude, think about this.....if nothing drains out then it is bulding up some where ????? have you checked your PH lately . I bet its off the charts...Have you done this before? It actually worked , if you did ? I have killed a lot of plants doing just what you r doing....good luck
