My first question would be though, are you "a drug addict who is always looking for [your] next fix"??? If so then she probably has some valid points. But if not, then perhaps your mutual communication is just awry. Request to be examined medically for your insomnia, then when a physician diagnoses it, you can fall back on the "medical condition" card. If an MD recommends medication and she won't let you take it, she is probably violating the law (depending on what state/country you live in and how old you are). She may even be honestly just stressed out. Try to lighten the load if it seems harsh on her. Finally, a pathologic condition like bipolar (manic depressive disorder) is also possible, but one you can't really do much about until you move away. Sadly when a parent suffers from psychiatric/psychological impairment, the children are either removed from custody if the severety of symptoms warrants it, or left to suffer with pain in the ass parents. Good luck...
