what is used as soil here, i have always wondered but never found out........
its not soil.. i forget wat its called.. they're lyk these balls.. they're mad ill..
they are clay balls
Yeah, soil looks like dirt, that isnt dirt. I still dont know what they are used for but that isnt soil lol.
I have a sack of these things. Is it easy to grow in and are there any advantages to it.
I might be tempted to give it a go.
They are called "grow rocks", which are clay rock balls. The clay is formed into pellets and fired in rotary kilns at 1200°C. This causes the clay to expand, like popcorn, and become porous. Used in hydroponics gardening. Also known by the brand name Hydroton.
Dboy
ive been wanting to try these what are the pros and cons tho......lol i highly doubt any cons tho because i know they are like gold to a hydro grower
hydroton is probably the best medium out there to grow in...retains moisture well, great aeration...goodluck
the best part is...you don't need anything else...(certain hydro methods)
