Lights question
Hi everybody,
I'm going to grow my first (1) mj plant. I would like to know what the best light (with the price) for 1 mj plant. I see on InsideSun, the 250w Kit for $95, I think it will be a great deal but I'd like to be sure ;) (It is very cool in my closet, it can down to 65f)
Thanks,

i have the insidesun 250watt hps i use it to flower and it dose ok but if i were you i would get the 400 watter its only a little more expensive but i think its worth it but if you are only growing one plant you could do fine with the 250

also, check out htgsupply.com for lights. I've heard the insidesun ones run really hot.
You can get hps security lights at most hardware stores for a lot less than $100. These are 60-150 watts and would be a better option for a single plant. A 250-watt lamp is more suited for 3-4 plants.
I think you'd be better off with a 400-watt lamp though. Not only are they about the same price as 250s, but you can grow more weed and there are better horticultural bulbs available for 400-watt systems.

Lights question
Yeah, that 400-watter from htgsupply is the one I have. So far, it's been great. The bulb burnt out after one day for me though, so I called them up and they replaced it for free, with a better bulb that they sell for like $60 on their site. I haven't had a single problem since. The magnetic ballast does get pretty warm, but it runs way cooler than I expected. They say their ballasts only add about 20% more energy to that of the light, and from what I've seen, that seems about right.

Lights question
Will I be okay with that?
Canadian Tire
I'm in Canada so I can't order on htgsupply...

Lights question
Ah! No! At least, not unless you want to cook your plants. Halogen lights are essentially just more powerful incandescent lights.
Canadian Tire doesn't seem to have them. What's the other hardware store I know of in Canada? Rona, maybe? They're called either sodium lamps or high-pressure sodium lamps.

Try eBay, also. Are you sure HTG Supply doesn't ship to canada?
