I woke up around 8:30 this morning, got the clearing up and general house hold shit done. Sat down and rolled my first J of the Day sparked it up then opend the curtains to see about 30 police officers in my street. Put that J down and went outside to find out what was happening. A man from 10 doors down the road was stabbed to death at 5 this morning.

I didn't know the guy but it sucks having this on your doorstep.

Yeah, to say the least. You cant really see alot now as they've erected a great big tent in front of the house. My neighbour reckons they killed his dog too.

Where abouts are ya in the UK? Sucks when it's on your door step. There's been quite few stabbings here in Bedfordshire, some just round the corner. What's the world coming to?

That sucks!!
Find out everything you can about the incident and use that information when evaluating your safety.
Be careful! Random things happen in random places at random times. Don't let your guard down, but don't get paranoid.

Edit: Oh! you are in the UK! Guns are completely illegal there, aren't they? :(

No you can have a gun if you have a lisence and keep it in a safe, for sports like clay pigeon shooting and that. But no you can't buy 'em in Tesco.

I'm in kent by the way, i'm sure someone asked.

That does suck.

I remeber when we first moved to Alberta in this small town, and in the morning, we were on our way out to go to the city for shopping. About half a block from our house, we turn on the radio and they say there has been a murder this morning in so and so town. We drive right by the scene and only 1 officer was there so far, but I remeber seeing the blood coming out from underneath the white sheet on his head. Poor bastard got his brains blown out aftre a drunken party, over a girl.

Murder is so pointless. Most of them you see are due to someone being in a fit of anger over something so minor.

There was once a deadly stabbing new years eve at a bar a few years ago, over a girl too. So stupid.

Shit, that's not good.. I live on an island with about 1 murder every 500 years, so I don't know what it must be like to have murder in my life.. Damn...

Few weeks ago, bout 1am I was smoking a jay and i heard a loud ass BANG! My brother got woken up by it and his window was shit, my shit was open and it was loud enough to make my dogs bark... Im a good citizen and i called the popo to have them look around, not come to my house lol, but i never heard anything about it except in the newspaper it says a guy got shot in my neighborhood... i assume he was OK because i never heard an ambulance or anything siren just a cop... thing is i live in a decent area... so its weird. its not uncommon to hear shots every few days in the distance but never close enough to actually like hear them in your house unless youre by a window.
cant we all just get along...

I find it rather disturbing that its not uncommon to hear gunshots near your house. If i heard gun shots near my house i would be paranoid.

i think it was a year or two ago, but we had a murder on our street as well... but this house is only like 3-4 down from ours...

apparently there was some argument over a bottle of pills and one guy shot the other a few times... i heard the shots, i even heard the grandmother scream in agony... i ran outside to see what was going on, to see a car hauling ass down the road with no headlights on.... my suspicion was that he was the shooter and now a murder suspect..

my suspicions were right... he was caught....

and it was by far not the first violent act in this neighborhood... this place is bad >.< and yet my wife wondered why i was so damn set in the fact of not letting her walk this neighborhood after dark... i dont' even like her to do it in the daytime...

someone in the house behind mine killed someone with a shotgun, and i heard him talking to his dad about it.

he was crying saying he couldnt believe what he had done. then i heard people going "just get the truck, just get the truck well handle it"

i called the cops and they arrested the guy, and i havnt seen him since.

I asked the cops what happened and they just said it was a domestic dispute.

im curious about the avatar as well lol

it was a phone in a butt

one time me and a bunch of buddys were smokin some danky dank at like 1in the mornin. and there was a murder on the street next to ours so like 10 houses down. and we were outside on the side of my house and could see the street but it was really dark that night and apperently the killer after stabbing someone in the house walked down to my street right in front of my house and washed the blood off of his hands in the house across the street's sprinklers. he then continued down my street and broke in to a house about four doors down the street to try to hide out. apparently after that we all went down my street to a near by school to chill there. we went home later and passed out after hittin a bong for awhile. we found out the next day about the murder and how close it was. it scared the shit out of us. i was spooked for awhile after that. but im in seattle so... ive been around a bunch of murders, unfortunately. but it was just the fact that it was so close aand that it was a stabbing. most killing around here are usually pointles shootings- seattle

In the late 70's, a kid brought a gun to my school and shot himself in the bathroom, killing himself. There is still a bullet hole in the upper corner of the wall that no one has bothered to remove, seeing as our school never gets renovated or anything.
And last weekend, i was driving my friend home, about 3 cops passed me going realllly fast with their lights and shit on... and on the way to this kids house we passed these apartments that are kinda notorious, more or less projects because its mostly section 8, anyway, there was like7 or 8 cops out front of the smaller building... i dont know what happened i wonder if someone got merked on lol

Yeah, not alot happens around here so when it does every cop in town wants to be up the front.

My road is still closed off today, got a police car at both ends stopping traffic from entering. There's still around 10 cops just standing around while what i assume is a forensic officer is looking for clues. Rumor has it so far that the victim "dis-respected" the killer in the pub the night before. That could mean he looked at him funny or didn't look at him at all. Who knows, another life lost to senseless violence.

About eight months ago there was another murder about a mile or so from my house. This was 4 kosovans on one somolian. They beat him to the floor with bricks, stabbed him numerous times then cut his tongue out and left him die in the street.

This is Margate, a small sea side town. I actually felt safer in London.

i fuckin hate being stabbed to death
just the other day i was breakdancing with my dog in the cemetery
i was playing aqua - barbie girl when a random ginger haired little boy pulled a knife on me
so i took of my wrist band, did a 360 spin and stamped on his toe
2 minutes later a gang of midgets came round, all with screw drivers and sand paper

i got stabbed to death
and my dog is now bald
not the first time its happened, but it still pisses me off

WOW!! That's a statement, isn't it? I am an American, and I have never been to the UK, but from what I understand London can get pretty rough (stands to figure given it's size, no?)
If you felt safer there...

I live in a big American city (Chicago) and I have heard a gunshot or two in my 3 years living here, but I used to live in New Orleans, pre-Katrina. There were so many gunshots and sirens in the ambient sound that you learned to tune it out. That was a rough city to live in.

(pardon my rambling)
