what a stupid question
Come on now. I'm high, but it isn't that stupid. Would it clean it? Or would it still smell like shit and have resin caked all over? I'd way prefer that to boiling it. I can't stand the smell. And I'm lazy.

Dishwashers reach high temp. heats and what will probably happen is either the sides of the dishwasher would be covered in tar after, or the filter where the food (tar) goes down into the pipes, will get clogged. The water will heat up the tar, causing it to melt and stick and clog things up.
I'm guessing it would reek up your house too.
So I would advise against this. :)

I usually just use hot water from the tap but this would probably only work if your tap water gets REALLY hot like mine. Also I have heard, but not tried, rubbing alcohol but I think that might leave a funny smell or taste.

Rubbing alcohol... good stuff... soak for an hour, clean with Qtip.
No aftertaste... isopropanol evaporates clean... safe even to use as a solvent when making goo-hash.

^^yeah rubbing alcohol works the best. if you just wanna do a quick clean of your bowl or pipe, you don't even need to soak it. Just dip a q-tip in the stuff and wipe away (i just did this last night)!
My step-brother and bf just made 'goo-hash' actually and it worked just fine using isopropanol...the finished product still smelt a little alcohol-y so I just left the stuff unsealed and the rest of the alcohol just evaporated.

It's been said, but rubbing alcohol (99%), then rinse out really, really well with really hot water.
It gets the taste out, so what I do before I stop, is I take an empty air hit from the piece being cleaning. If you can't taste alcohol, it's clean.

lol wait until you walk away from the stove and hear a vary quiet *pop* while making goo hash... and turn around to find a beautiful blue fire coming out of the pan... yeeeeah.... that was when I started making it in a double-boiler...my mom uses hers to melt chocolate and make pastry frosting... lol... if she only knew what I use MINE for....
hint... goo hash seems to improve a bit with age anyway... sweeten up... be less harsh... I may be imagining that though.

they used a double boiler method too for making theirs. I was a little worried when my step-bro came and collected by bf for some "male bonding time"! I was like "please don't blow up my boyfriend" lol!

I tossed my pipe in my dishwasher. Its a small 4" pipe. Exterior and bowl came out clean clean, but the inside wasn't really clean either.
Nothing wrong with it in my opinion. Cascade can handle it.
