I want to do a bubbler like a bubbling bucket for my Lowryders, but use a plastic bin. The net pots I am using are 6" wide and 4.5" deep. I was wondering how close I can get the airstone to the bottom of the net pot and still grow well. I am thinking of getting a 10 gallon rubbermaid tub that is 24"x16"x9". I hope I can put 4 in there with 2 12" airstones.

Solve for X in the picture lol, and this is the tub I want to use.

decent set up, will work, keep the water level just under the net pot, airstones should sit at the bottom of the tub. I would suggest using more airstones in there, or different ones that are bigger, lots of bubbles!

I am thinking about getting an Tetra air pump made for 100 gallon tanks and then getting 4 5" air stones to put under each pot. Does this seem like it would work?

i think it would work fine, i am on my first grow with DWC. I have a 7 gal sterilite tub with 2 plants in their 4 week of flower. I have 2 12 inch airstones, the roots have been pretty much totally submerged in the water the whole grow (Deep water culture, I think there is a difference btw DWC and aeroponics which doesnt submerge the roots), and they are meeting my expectations. I have a small chamber and tied mine down quite a bit, (2 x 150 HPS ) aS FAR AS SOLVING FOR X ... MY SETUP IS PRETTY MUCH EXACTLY HOW YOU HAVE IT ILLUSTRATED
