I have always used HPS lamps and never tryed fluro, with all this new technoligy , they seem a lot better and cost effective, how well do they really work? whats the grow rates like compared to HPS in veg? I really just want to use them to keep mother, and clones going.

Yes, floro lights are better for vegging and clones. Clones especially. You don't want to put freshly cut clones under and intense lighting, so a 40W tube is just fine for clones until they root.

Use Floro for vegg. and HPS for flowering. For best results, use an MH for vegg. and a HPS for flowering, and floro for clones.

Cloning/veg -only cool white- you want blue spectrum... you should end this thread and go into the cultivation section.
