Nothing interesting is happening, so here's some pictures anyway.
Root porn, that little funny plant is some of my own work like a cousin to the one Shov is growing, those leaves kill me
The one with one yellow leaf is Demeter's PPP, she grew FAST
And a sweet tooth that came down last night

Nice tour of the premises foxy! I see the PPP princess loves her new home! That sweet tooth makes me hungry. Very chunky buds.
I still like the car freshener idea. What if you hung dozens of them outside the growroom, like a mobile :D This sounds like such a good idea I must be high
Sorry about the sex confusion with the talented ms mtf- she's a real beaut! I am going to take her picture and post it with others in my log today, so stop by and visit.
Mr. Demester was in your neck of the woods recently and mentioned a restaurant called, I think, the Smoking Hippo? Is that a bbq joint? When I smoke, I could eat a hippo:D

1- Clones from the Pioneer Valley, OG Kush in the foreground.
2- Young from-seed plants that were stretched and then bent over double
3- Here's all the little guys. They are mostly Skunk#1 but there are a couple Yeag's MTF and a couple of my own work in there too
4- Here they are all back in their home, all tied down to even out the canopy and encourage lots of side growth for cloning
5- This is the same shot 10 hours later- they are already reaching for the light

Bud shot is that same sweet tooth, a little drier, ready to be cut off the stem and after sitting out in the open for the day, will be paper-bagged for the second stage of drying.

dunno if they are open monday but theres a place down 116 towards amherst, Bub's... or wait until you get back up 91 and get off at exit 4-putney- for Curtis' All American BBQ pit- and swing by Liquid Sun while you're at it!
As for other stuff around there, Herms in Greenfield is good, as is Mesa Verde for big cheap high quality burritos and shit, or if you like Thai, there's Blue Ginger, or for sushi, check out China Gourmet. Avoid the Wok at all costs though if you are going to be away from a toilet for a couple hours.
In Brattleboro, the MArina off exit 3 is delish and has riverside seating, and the river view has got a killer rooftop bar overlooking the river. Food is good but dinner prices are outrageous for how slowe the service is.

I wanted to add a little something to the log before I forget!
Cloning... I'm still tweakin' away on the technique... this last go-round I did not use ANY wilt-pruf, just clonex in rapidrooters, no heat pad, no lights, and just stuck the whole thing dome and all on the back of the toilet lol, where it gets diffuse natural light from an east facing window with blinds over it.
It has been about 2 weeks and not much is happening, BUT nothing is dying, and as of this morning most of the cuts appear to have struck, as I can't pull them out of the plugs. So I took 5 more (Bogglegum yum yum) last night and added those.
There's evidence of rot on one cut only out of the 15 that are in there.
The whole thing was bleached before use and I ran the plug holder things through the dishwasher, of course that means my coffee cups have coco fibre in them, but whatever.
The other thing I changed is I'm not really misting the cuts, only the inside of the dome. And there's a little bowl of agua in there too. Someone had posted about the 'tough love' method of cloning, giving moisture ONLY from the stem, forcing them to root faster... we will see how well that theaory holds up.
Next time since I have just run out of clonex, I am trying out dip n grow. Clonex is a thumbs up, Olivias is IMHO a bit meh, and all powders annoy me.

06-02-2007, 01:39 PM
Yeah that's what they were hoping for.. but... you can wish in one hand and shit in the other... you KNOW which one will fill up faster!
Smokin Hippo= meh. BBQ is okay but I think they thicken the sauce with cornstarch, wtf. The consistency is weird. But the brisket is excellent and the chicken gumbo is all smoky and yum. Decor is possibly the WORST I have ever seen, PINK walls with cheesy flower prints hung up, place needs some old license plates and deer heads, and they need to LOSE the cloth napkins (also pink, WTF!) because as everyone knows, polyester does NOT porperly absorb BBQ goo, you are supposed to put out rolls of paper towels, and not the dollar store ones either.
Here's some pics. That hindu kush came down last night, here she is untrimmed, plucked, trimmed, and then hanging.,
Not much waste on that girl. She had great bud mass for her size.

Now that Stinky has hijacked my log... hee hee :wtf:
Okay yet MORE tweakage to the cloning method.
Dip-n-grow!!! Oh holy CRAP how amazing is this shit. Screw clonex, I'm done with it. DnG has 2 different hormones plus a fungicide, which buys some time- time you don't seem to need!!! I'm getting cuts to strike to the point where they can't be lifted out by DAY 4~~
I have also found that the simplest way to sterilize the prop setup is that scrubbing bubbles shit, that you spray on and it foams up- you can't miss a spot becasue it's easy to see where the white sanitizer is in contact with the black plastic.
So it's rapidrooters, a single SMALL cool white cfl, and dip-n-grow... even the heat pads are uneccessary at this time of year! HAHAHHA I am the cheapest, stingiest chick out there and LOVE paying $9 for the dome, mooching 0.5mL per run of dip-n-gro off a friend, 10 cents each for the plugs, scrounging 6-pax out of the dumpster at the garden store (they go through the dishwasher before use), and having 100% success!!! Thanks friend who lets me be a total mooch! :D
Okay what else... BBQ!!!!!! I went to Curtis' for ribs on Friday because I was fiendin' for some red meat... First off, the ribs are HUGE. I was going to order a half slab, and thought better of it, and got the 4-rib plate... STILL too big, it was actually 5 ribs and they were like off the sides of the plate... And tender!!! And you can sit there at a picnic table and watch tourists coming off the exit ramp and you can literally SEE them sniffing the air and looking around for the sources of all that BBQ stank... oooooh it is yummy. Be warned that it's sour southern-style bbq sauce though. Not that northern molasses/honey sweetened stuff I'm used to.

Next time I run that strain (all 3 are clones of a Bushy Old Grower strain) I'm really cleaning out low in the plant. The low buds just get messy and nasty, and are a pain to trim up. This plant seems to want to be either SCROGged or grown in a tomato cage. It's very flexible and needs a lot of support for the bud mass.

So of of to glasgow for the weekend via the hydro store.

I don't know if xcrispi would even want it either for the same reasons that I didn't- security and time. Give me some time to get those things sorted out and we will see.
I used to work at a commercial facility running NFT and think that if I were to get into hydro again it would be that, or flood-&-drain. But NFT has a LOT of potential and is a neat system to build yourself too.
If you do go that route it's back to RO water for you though! lol.

Hey party people, long time no see (sorry).
I've been busy as usual.
I recently aqcuired a lovely population of mites from visiting an infected grow- oops- but they seem to be under control already with an application of rotenone, and I have treated EVERYTHING in veg with Avid to prevent them spreading.
I built a spankin' new room in the crawl space where I first started this growing adventure, but which has been sitting fallow for almost 2 years- I ran out of space in the rest of my house, lol. I moved my 2 halides in there to do the moms, and replaced them with shop lights in the old veg closet. Temps are much better.
I've temporarily shut off my HPS400 in the flower room for the hottest part of the summer. It will go back online in Spetember I imagine.
Here's a couple pics. I'll take newer ones this weekend; these ar about 2 weeks old. Since moving my moms upstairs, I've had to take 3 rounds of clones JUST to keep them from growing up into the light... I have a few extras, lol... I'm pushing them on my friends... here!!! Take a clone!!! Take a dozen!!!! AAAAARGH!!!! Get them out of here! :D
Yes, I am fully aware that the plants on the top shelf of the closet are leggy- they were REALLY crowded together and all bolted before I rearranged everything. The girls look a lot better now. Of course, anything that is grown from seed is not intended to really go into flower for any other reason than to sex since I take a bunch of clones off and stock up first, and draw the flowering stock from my supply of clones and retired moms.

Just a quick update!
Temps locally have dropped back down to a tolerable level and I put my HPS400 back on line today.
The new mother closet is working out really well. So is the improved veg closet. Crowding is not so much a problem any more and all the extra stretching and loss of lower, shaded leaves is a thing of the past.
I'm past the bunch of plants that were damaged last month and recent harvests are on the upswing- I just took down a MTF with an even ounce dry on it that was the last plant affected.
The mites are pretty much under control. They do not appear to have spread past that one plant, and I'm still treating for them, but I don't see any serious threat anymore. It will now just be preemptive Avid and Neem treatments before flowering, and Rotenone in veg.
This is a sexy pair of Foxy Seeds' (White Rhino x Yeag's MTF) F1 hybrids showing the squat structure of the MTF and the beautiful frosty white buds of the Rhino. I love this cross. I haven't smoked it yet but it looks mouthwatering and the plants are pretty hardy.

Hi Stinkyattic- I am in the homestretch now - one more week and school's out until Sept- yea! We've got a friend coming in from out of town to stay with us this weekend, but after that I am free as a wild bird- so let us know which weekend we should come out west to see ya! This time we've toasted the pine nuts so the pesto is even better- and now we have tomatoes too (as well as tons of yellow squash and zucchini!)
I need to take some clones of what I think is trainwreck for you- man, nothing helps me sleep like that stinky stuff!

Well... sorta...
Just thought I'd post a couple recent pics. Nothing particularly exciting, just a reminder that I haven't fallen off the earth.
Still having horrible temperature problems- it's September, almost October- we should not have 90 degree weather still! My lame a/c can't handle it, and I'm running on half the lights I should be.
Pics include a harvested plant, no clue what it was, I didn't get a good pic of the tag- oops.
Other one is my lovely clone storage closet, overflowing with way the heck too many plants. Would that we all had these problems!

Damn its a fucking jungle in there. And what in gods name is a hollyhock? Sounds like an injury to a horse or something. :wtf:

Ugh that's not even the worst of it. My flower room shouldn't see the light of day; it's embarassing. And my mother crawlspace is just... terrifying. That closet is actually the most presentable grow area in the house. I just realized that those plants need a drink in the pic too, lol.

First time I've ever seen a jungle just growing out of an entire house... (except for X-C's basement...;))

Hey girl, I know that problem, I'm living with jungle fever- now there are 16 plants in my cozy flower room and you should see the gymnastics required to water those girls! In about 2-3 weeks I will be harvesting 8 of those, so that should free up room as the other 8 get bigger (they just went in to flower last week, and there is a 3rd and 4th batch waiting in the wings). Oy!
