I posted a thread about this a few days ago, but i can't find it.

So here it goes again.

I was just thinking of ways to get bigger plants without as much power consumption, as it is worrisome to some people.

The only thing i came up with was to build a small room around a window into a small/medium grow room. Place the plants near the window, and position your artificial lighting nearer to the adjacent wall to the window, at the appropriate height for the plants size.

During 12/12 do you think it would be beneficial to leave the blinds up during 12 of light (of course you would have to schedule this time when it is actually light outside), and close the blinds during 12 of dark? You could combat the stretching your plants would want to do towards to window with the positioning of your lighs. possibly?

Just bored and had an idea and thought i'd see what yall thought. I know I saw a nice C-99 plant grown using only window sun, and i don't even remember that much stretching.

Not going to work.
-less control of light cycles
-you only benefit from natural light part of the day
-unless you have super extra WOW insulated windows, have fun keeping temps constant
-your grow lights are going to be visible from outside... you want to be more conspicuous than a big e bill? There ya go!
Read the power consumption and the cops thread.
Honesty you are NOT going to be on anyone's radar screen with a small op.

k.

as for the lights obviousely you would have the plants on 12 light at the optimum time of the day.

as for the window, there are windows you can purchase that are no see-able through but allow light through. That doesn't seem very practical though, mabe having the plants and lights a few feet back form a top story wouldnt be visible/noticeable?

temps would be hard you're right.

i mean like 2k w of light in small place though.

i thoguht this idea was neat while i was stoned but now it sucks, haha.
