As hard as it is to stop yourself from MAD munchies, I will do it. The problem is.. well.. honestly I used to be at ~167lbs or so, I'm 5'8", 17yo male. Currently, after the past 2-3 weeks of smoking nonstop, I've gone up to ~175lbs. This pisses me off and it can be terribly depressing if you don't know about that type of thing (burn in hell you metabolic machines!)
My goal would be 160lbs flat. Anything below that would be a godsend. I know, I know, "get off your ass and go do something you stoner!" would be a plausible way to possibly lose weight. But I don't want to gain muscle at all, I don't want to pay to go to a gym, and I don't want to eat bacon or some other dumb fad diet (only to gain it all back).
If you have gone through a similar situation at some point in your life (or even now), and you would like to relay that information here, I would be eternally grateful to those who could do so. Even if you don't know any working tips, kind advice or support would be beneficial to myself and other slightly (or more) overweight persons here (I know there have to be tons of them). Thanks for the help, guys!

Wait a minute, a bacon diet? How come I was never told about this. :p
To lose some weight, you need to burn off that fat by burning off more calories than you take in. Eat sensible meals, with healthy snacking inbetween, and go walking, or running, or biking or whatever. Outdoor exercise is the best way to lose weight, and you won't gain muscle.
You want to lose the fat first, then gain muscle. Not muscle then fat, doing that will just make you fatter. To gain muscle, you eat big, hearty meals, but in your case, avoid that.
Eat oitmeal for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and something else for supper. Avoid cheese, milks, any dairy stuff really, and keep alcohol consumption low, mainly beer. A bottle of beer packs about 180 calories.
So exercise and eat well, and you will lose weight. :)
Im kinda in the same boat. im 6'1" and about 195 pounds. I used to be about 170 or 175 which is where i wanna be at. I used to be at 205 a month or so ago. I havent really excercised alot and i should. but i have cut back on how much i eat and i have lost weight.

Yea.. I used to like OD myself almost on adderall and shit, it made me sweat like a dog, and also didn't make me want to eat.. period.
Even now, I don't eat. Ever. And I mean it, seriously.
The only meal I eat all day is 1 at ~7pm. After that, I only eat some chips or something if I get munchies from smoking. I eat no breakfast, no lunch, and nothing in between, and have no idea why that would affect me badly. Any time I even try to eat breakfast/lunch, my body doesn't even know wtf to do with it, and I feel bloated and shit all day because my body isn't used to it.

You'll do better and lose more weight if you eat several smaller meals then one large meal. And I find fruit to be a better munchie then chips.

It's not as easy as that. I don't have too much free time in order to just "exercise" at will. Mostly from the weather here, and it getting way too dark / cold to get outside and do anything by the time I get home every day.
I can't "eat right" either, having no job and being a dependent on my single father, it's kind of hard not to be forced to eat frozen / fast foods every night, I have almost no option there either.
But if there's something that is easier to ADD or to SUBTRACT from my diet that would make things easier, or certain activities I could do easily, it would be very beneficial. Thanks for your concern.

If you got a DVD player go get the Tae-Bo workouts. I did them back when it first came out and lost about 65 lbs from it. Also got me into Boxing and martial arts.

Sorry, but not doing that.
If I even consider following those things, I'd rather pirate it online and get it for free, lmao.
oh and, which videos did you even use? "Tae Bo" is pretty unspecific.

Throw in some gym time and you're good :)
I've also noticed I've gained some weight, too much munchies and too little excercise. ;P

Well, I smoke before I leave for school, sometimes at school, when I get out of school, maybe a couple hours after that, and then a few after I eat dinner and stay high till I go to bed.
So... munchies are never a problem till late night..

Dont eat, cake, cookies, and doritos when you have the munchies. Eat fruits or yogurt when you got the munchies. Dont guzzle a 2 liter of pop drink water, or flavored water instead. Get rid of all the junk food, out of sight out of mind. Last but not least you have to exercise. You may not want to gain muscle but you dont want flab either.

Do some sit ups, push ups, jumping jacks, take a walk and smoke while your walking, or get a exercise bike and ride it. I use to have one and would ride it and watch tv at the same time. Time flew by when I was doing that. But as someone has already said I like to do the workout DVDs. I recently bought some off ebay and love it. But since I read your not into that you should just do what they made you do in gym class. You should keep your heart rate up for at least 20 mins. Whats 20 mins out of 1440 mins in a day.

dude, eating mcdonalds every night can be quite a bit more expensive than cooking at home. think about it. A pack of pork chops is what $4? Pork is an uber easy food to cook with pretty much nothing. Grab a $1 of rice and go to town.
A meal for 1 costs around $5 at most fast food joints (cheap). you could pretty much spend less than that and feed 2 people.
Not telling you to eat pork chops every day, just giving an example.

Yea, I know, but my father works 10-12 hour days, 6 days a week, and his off day is to go to church/grocery store to buy food. Plus being someone who could give two shits about nutrition, he thinks eating lots of protein for meals is acceptable (hell, throw some fries in there and there's your veggies too, right?)
damn.

who cares if its dark or raining that doesnt stop you running
I dont know why you wont lift but it will make your metabolism much faster so you lose weight even when you are chilling
Your height and weight arn't that bad, you could turn what you have to muscle quickly (3 months), why not be ripped for the ladies?
Once you get started its easy to keep up, lazing around doesnt help anything or make you any happier so whats the point?

just sounds like your not motivated to do anything, your not going to get anywhere with that attitude. If you really wanna get in shape its gonna be hard and your not gonna like it for a little while, you will get use to it just have to do it. But from your responses doesnt sound like you want to do anything you just want it to happen, not gonna happen that way man.

Actually, most of the weight gain will probably be water/temporary waste gain. As you have upped your junk food intake alot of the weight will just be undigested food or other debris in your colon. You get a water gain from the dehydration and then rehydration, this process causes your body to store more water so it doesn't risk dehydration. Get in the gym or just go for a few 20 minute runs around you block. Mild running for about 4 days a week for 2 weeks will sit you right back down.
This is all based on the fact that you noticed the gain in a single week. Had you gained this weight over a longer period of time then the losing process might take a little longer.

Pork is horrible for your heart even if you perform regular cardio and weight training exercises.

What I do is grab a bottle of water when i wake up and do jumping jacks while watching the tv in the morning(so about a half hour) that kick starts the whole metabolism.About 6 months ago I was up to 285lbs. I'm 6'4 and now im at 235-240.Oh yea, and what zimzum said eat about 4-5 small meals a day, it keeps your metabolism firing.

Lift some weights, put on your ipod and run. You don't have to worry about what you eat as much.

I used to weigh 235+ pounds (I stopped weighing myself then). I'm 5'4", female and 59. I now weigh 175 and am working on the last 40 pounds. It is harder for women to lose weight than men. Even harder if you are over 50- metabolism slows down.
Kid, you sound like you want a "magic" cure for your weight gain. I don't want to exercise. I don't want to change my lifestyle. I don't have the power to change things. Blah Blah Blah! Stop whining and get moving!
Those potato chips are uber bad for you. The salt holds water in your body, the oils are likely full of trans-fats, and the small amount of fiber was removed when they peeled the potatoes! They are just carbs, fat and salt! And have you ever figured out the price per pound??? OUTRAGEOUS!!! Apples are cheap- just bought some at 79 a pound. Eat an apple instead of those chips. Apples have 80 calories- those chips can have 5x as many! DUMP ALL JUNK FOOD! EAT NATURAL FOODS! I'm not saying be an organic health food nut- just eat more natural foods- fruits, salads, veggies, whole grain foods. Avoid white rice, sugar, flour etc. They are processed to a fare-thee-well and are almost nutritionless.
Volunteer at the local "Head Start" daycare center if you need exercise! Believe me, running after toddlers is GREAT exercise (ask any Mom!). Or when Dad's gone, put on some upbeat music and dance like nobody's watching! Exercise is essential when losing weight. So get off your stoned, fat arse, eat right and start losing weight.- Granny:hippy: (love ya anyway!)

The only real answer is to get to the gym, or go for walks, or whatever.
And eat healthy. Get some good books on nutrition. Visit your local healthfood store or co-op.
