Just got my second 600 watt electronic ballast. You freakin' need sunglasses in that room!. Found me and old co2 tank at a yard sale. Got it for 10 bucks. The guy was a welder. Got the hoods on a mover.Man the lower branches are even beginning to fill out more with just that 1st 600. This will greatly increase my yeild. Not to mention quality!

What makes the Future-Brite ballasts that much better than Lumatek or Galaxy ? F-Brite is 365.00 while Lumatek is 219.00 and Galaxy is 229.00 for 600 watter's (digital). I have 3 of the Galaxy's and they work awesome. No noise, much brighter, etc. Just curious as to what warrants the extra cost for the Future-Brites.

The future-brite has axil fans in the ballast to keep it cool. The lumatek does'nt.The cooler a ballast stays the more efficient the output and the lamp life. It's just a matter of preference.I looked into other brands and found the future-brite to be the top of the line.I'm not saying the others are'nt fine! I just choose that brand. The fans inside, had alot to do with my choice.

Yeah! That 1000 is my next venture. I already got the bulbs and 2- 465cfm fans. The cordset for the 600 is the same as the 1000.All I gotta do is plug the cordset into the ballast.BAM! I'm cookin' with gas!

Lumatek electronic ballasts are not able to consistently ignite SOLARMAX, HORTILUX and GROLUX lamps. They will also not fire Multi Vapor Metal Halide lamps, such as G.E.

I just found this on the lumatek. That's crazy, huh? Why get a ballast that won't fire a bulb or use it to the best of it's ability! I guess if your trying to make your mind up on the purchase of a ballast? Lumatek should be questionable.. Get what ever brand you want, but do some research on the item. You pay 100.00 for a bulb.. The bulbs that the ballast won't use are some of the best! You should be able to use the top of the line bulb.Thought I'd share this with ya'll ... It might save some disappointment.

Yeah, it is crazy. I had read that after our discussion also. Sounds like Lumatek needs to get its shit together. One would think they would have figured out a fix for that by now.

Their fix is that you should buy a GE low end bulb! WTF?
