It's a proven fact that cannabis/hemp/marijuana can be used to replace all fuel, paper, fiber, food, and medicine etc... It would obviously help to clean our enviroment ( Welcome to Jack Herer's Home on the Web (http://www.jackherer.com) ). Cannabis/hemp/marijuana is the only plant that can do this.
Now think about global warming, in 50 years the ice can melt and raise ocean water world wide by 20 feet! We soon will be forced to legalized this wonder herb. The question now is only when, I say within 20 years, what do you guys think?

if they did legalize it, would probably have nothing to due with global warming. the burning of any fuel contributes to global warming no matter what type of fuel it is.

Legalization would, indeed, have nothing to do with global warming. Not quite sure, but has anyone ever seen the movie "Reefer Madness?" This movie was made in the 1920's or 1930's in a time in history when the government was spending millions of federal dollars in an attempt to make the growing, sale, and consumption of marijuana illegal. It was said that marijuana was the cause of violent mood swings which led to various crimes. At the time, however, the government knew very little about any of the effects of marijuana, good or bad. Since then, as more and more research has been devoted to understanding ALL effects of marijuana, many officials in the government have been finding that marijuana, although not technically a healthy substance, is not nearly as bad for people as originally perceived. Marijuana, it can be argued, is less unhealthy (or more healthy, though it can't technically be considered "healthy") than the effects of something like, say, cigarettes (which is only a mega-BILLION dollar a year industry). The problem is, the government screwed up by not only initially making it illegal, but by keeping it illegal these years since and making many false claims against the effects of the drug. Now, the process of making marijuana legal once more, will take considerably longer than it should. Will it be legalized, I believe so. I believe, as a matter of fact, that marijuana will be made legal within the next 5 - 10 years. There is too much moving in favor of the overall effects the legalization of marijuana would have on multiple factors. Medically, marijuana has been shown again and again to have positive effects in numerous cituations. And when one considers how substantially the government stands to gain with the numerous taxes that would be placed on it from all standpoints, it can only inevitably lead to the future legalization of the drug.

industrial hemp is far too closely linked to the evil weed to make the politicians happy. it would take years of re-educating the public before they would feel comfortable legalizing it. i'm fairly sure that i won't see even industrial hemp crops growing legally in the u.s. in my lifetime (your poll goes beyond that and i won't make predictions past my demise).
