So Im going to take my asvab...

Here at 5pm Im going to take my asvab. I went in yesterday to the Army recruiter, and took a practice asvab.

After I was finished, he had a computer in front of him, and he was looking at my scores. He was pretty disappointed that I only scored a 29, but then he realized that those werent even my scores! He went into the back room where I took the test and brought back my computer, to find out, I scored a 64.

The Army requires a 30 minimum to join, and anything over 50 is simply outstanding. As soon as they figured out that I was substantially smarter than previously thought, both of the recruiters in there totally changed for the better.

So anyways, depending on what I get on my asvab, Im going to decide what I want to do. After I take it today, Im going to the other recruiters with my score to see who will offer me the highest signon bonus. :D

the army is full of lies and they will screw you over. your recruiter will tell you anything you want just to get you to join. they dont care about you when they act like they are your best friend.
youtube juba sniper, or look for juba sniper on google.. those are army and marines getting sniped in iraq.. it could be you just waiting to go through some checkpoint and you are taking 5 and stretching your legs and some iraqi is sittin in his apartment smoking a J and drinking a beer and just snipes your ass out of no where.. it could be a little kid shooting you..
i hate this war, i will never join the army or marines or any branch of service.

Sounds like the army might not be a bad deal for you. You can either join up, get some good hard work in, get some experience in something and an education. You might get shot, but if you stay on 'the streets', something worse all together might happen. Besides, if you get shot in iraq, at least you can die with a little more dignity than dying from driving drunk or something.

I wouldn't worry about the asvab unless you really kick it's ass. It's really really easy and the army doesn't care how smart you are. They'll find something for you to do.

you might want to consider the air force or navy rather than the army. I think most of the people dying in iraq are in the army and marines so you might be a little safer.

That is a good idea.

I was in both the Marine Corps and the Army. At this point in the war, they need Infantrymen and if you don't watch yourself you will be one. DO NOT TRUST WHAT THE RECRUITER TELLS YOU!! or this time next year you will bustin' down doors in downtown Bagdad.

nice job on the test. i scored a 59 i still remember cause i wanted navy and navy needed something like 45 army like 35 marines like 45 and airforce like 50 ..i think..i did not want the army.

Close, the actual numbers are: Army 31,Marines 32, Navy 35, Coast Guard 36, Air Force 40.

Make sure this is what you really want to do BEFORE you take the test. I thought I wanted to join the air force, so I took the ASVAB and scored off the charts. They told me I can pick ANY job I wanted. It turned out that I didnt want any of them.

That was almost 4 years ago, and I still get calls from recruiters asking me to join because of my scores.

Dude don't do that, after you take the test make your recuriter give your 'what you can do job sheet' they may bs and say they cant, but if you insist they will give it to you.

Pick a job youre interested in foreal. the medical jobs tend to be a bit better, even more over seas, psch is REALLY good job, so is psy ops, and shit like that. Youre going to live that job trust me, its not like anything else. You are going to want to do something that you are going to enjoy, and something that gives you a little extra pull.

research your jobs or you'll be pissed in about 2 years. ask anyone.

Either way, it sucks man. Military life would not be for me. I wouldn't make it through boot camp first off. As soon as one of those oversized gorillas yelled and spiut in my face, telling me what to do, well, I'm not having that bro! :p

I think I got like an 86 on mine, not sure. I took the Navy test, not sure if it's the same one. Basically I was qualified to take any career path except nuclear engineering.
