To you -
Chances are you don't even know that our esteemed leader is planning a gigantic, insane surge of troops into Iraq. Wake the fuck up.
Your ignorance is forgivable.
Sending National Guard units on third and fourth tours of Iraq is not.
Having the future and certain deaths of countless thousands on your hands IS NOT FORGIVABLE.
Call your congressional representative. Tell them how vehemently opposed to this pathetic, disgusting, terrifying move you are, and tell them that they must, along with their peers, STOP THIS.
I know you don't care about what's happening in the world.
"It doesn't apply to me, so why should I?"
You terrify me as much as the Bush Administration terrifies me. You horrify me as much as Islamic extremists horrify me, and you sadden me as much as the 3,000 American deaths in Iraq (and the countless thousands of Iraqi innocents) sadden me. More than anything, though, you are seriously making me doubt that our future is bright.
Please.
Please, if only for once, care.
This has to be stopped.

Im against it as well. My uncle reinlisted and went back to serve his country, by the grace of god he made it back home safely before he holidays. He said he never wants to go back, and wont talk about some of the things he had seen and had to do. Its sad to sit back and watch the news and hear all the reports of death and destruction. Its getting very scary and if our president decides to attack Iran or North Korea I dont even want to think of the ramifacastions (sp) that will cause.

I wasn't happy we went in, but I'm not denying that we've done good there. Wrong reason, right result. We're not the world police, but brutal shit was going on over there. I wish the troops best of luck and hope they get home soon (that goes double for you Matt is you ever see this) and safe. That's all I'll say on the matter.

Anyone paying attention knows what Bush is doing....that is why so many neocons are speaking out. He is bringing all the players in from the PNAC. He is about to start a nuclear war in the middle east. Yes you are right people better wake up!
Bush is embracing the six-year-old neocon plan that many of its adherents have since abandoned, and he thinks he can now implement it using new strategies that most analysts, including most of the neoconservatives, reject and fear.
"As one senior military official put it today, '[Bush's planned surge of troops will] be like throwing kerosene on a fire'." --NBC Nightly News,
"... the Bush Administration has repeatedly asserted the right to initiate further attacks beyond Iraq without Congressional approval. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice recently testified that the President could attack Syria or Iran without any authorization from Congress." --The Nation, 1/23/06
"Support for sending additional troops to Iraq is at 11% (CNN) or 12% (LA Times). Opposition to the war is at 67% (CNN), and 54% want all U.S. troops out of Iraq by the end of 2007 (CNN). U.S. voters want the war to end. A "troop surge" is a betrayal of the voters, as is maintaining current troop levels." --David Swanson, AfterDowningStreet.org.
Bush is pulling troops from Afganistan at a time when they will have a taliban surge. His NEW WAR we will be fighting Iran and Syria.
George W. Bush is not going to voluntarily end his war and bring the troops home. Congress is going to have to stop it for him, and prevent him from starting another one.
He has already invaded the Iranian Embassy. This new war will take years and it is going to kill so many people. He is setting things up for war with all of the middle east. Republicans ands Democrats a like are against this. We all have to come together on this issue.
So, please take a few minutes to write or call your representatives and let them know that you will support their efforts to Stop the War and Bring the Troops Home. Urge them to use every Constitutional power available to them in this confrontation with the Bush Administration--including the power of the purse and impeachment, if necessary. They must do whatever it takes. This is a matter of life and death.

NOBLE EFFORT OUR ONLY ALTERNATIVE TO AWFUL DEFEAT FORCE & RESISTANCE: President Bush has ordered a surgeof troops ?? but Democrats in Congress said yesterday they'll seek
to pass a nonbinding resolution opposing it.
January 11, 2007 -- THE speech didn't matter. The plan matters.
The speech was plain and direct and without adornment. The plan it outlined is detailed and specific and seeks nothing less than to reverse the worsening crisis in Iraq.
The speech said, "This plan can work."
The plan must work.
Because if it doesn't, the war is lost. The president will have almost no defenders and backers should this plan fail to improve things in Iraq - and make no mistake, if this proves to be the case, the war will be defunded by Congress in 2008.
And then every terrible thing the president mentioned last night will be upon us:
"Radical Islamic extremists would grow in strength and gain new recruits. They would be in a better position to topple moderate governments, create chaos in the region, and use oil revenues to fund their ambitions. Iran would be emboldened in its pursuit of nuclear weapons. Our enemies would have a safe haven from which to plan and launch attacks on the American people."
And just as the president said last night that "the responsibility" for the mistakes that have been made "rests with me," so too he will shoulder the responsibility for the increased danger to the American people from Iraq's descent into unmitigated chaos.
So what of the plan itself? It has the practical benefit of being an actual plan to defeat the enemy on the ground - as opposed to the previous strategy, which was to subordinate military action to the maneuverings and machinations of Iraq's newborn political elite.
It involves an effort to defeat the Sunni insurgency and the Shiite death squads in Baghdad by taking their safe havens away from them - and it differs from previous efforts in this regard because American troops, working with a much larger Iraqi army contingent, will stay there day and night until these neighborhoods are pacified.
At the same time, operations against the al Qaeda terrorists in Anbar province will be stepped up. And more systematic efforts will be made to block the interference of Syria and Iran, who have provided support to the Sunni insurgents, al Qaeda terrorists and Shiite slaughterers.
Will it succeed? I don't know and neither do you and neither does anybody else. But it is this country's last, best, and only hope of prevailing in Iraq.
And the fact that it has been designed thoughtfully, carefully and over a period of more than two months - including the systematic replacement of the entire team that devised the previous unsuccessful strategy with a new team committed to victory - demonstrates the president and his team aren't just putting lipstick on a pig.
What has happened in the past two months in Washington is really without modern precedent: An overconfident president, assured and comforted by his military leaders that they had the only workable strategy for the war they were waging, found himself brought up short by the facts on the battleground and by the dramatic change in the political landscape at home.
He was left with only a few options.
He could have kept going as he had been, which would have been delusional.
He could have given in to the general despair in Washington and sought a quick exit from Iraq, which would have dishonorable.
Or he could have insisted on a gigantic new commitment of forces to the Iraqi theater, which would either have been unattainable or unsustainable.
What he has done, instead, is to devise and present a practical and workable plan - a plan to reduce violence, enhance security and simultaneously fight more aggressively and bring the Iraqi forces to fight more aggressively as well.
And there is no other option now but defeat.

A plan to REDUCE violence? 21,500 more American troops and the plan is to REDUCE violence?
Enhance security? To "fight more aggressively" would do the exact opposite of "enhancing security". Think about today's war-raped Iraq, today's war-raped Iraqis, and imagine the current violence multiplied numerous times.
That's what this escalation will bring.

I feel so happy I'm not the only one who says this. "Thou shalt not kill" There's no room for exceptions. My Christian-Conservative 'friends' always try and say it's OK for soldiers and people in specific situations, but the Bible doesnt' say anything else but "Thou Shalt Not Kill"
They don't read that part literally, but they take "A man shall not lie with another man as he does a woman" to mean that gays not only can't get married, but can't adopt.
People who think like that need to go to Iraq and die fixing their own mess, I want no part of this. The whole thing got fucked to hell.

Umm... the fuck?
Christianity does NOT oppose war. The Crusades? The constant warfare in the Old Testament? Have you even read the book of Revelation? Jesus came to baptize with the Holy Spirit and with FIRE. So what if he doesn't want to join, maybe he can't. People have families to raise, but they can still support what America is doing. Personally I have no fucking clue on what to think about this, but if people join the army they KNOW what they are putting themselves into. It is not forced, this isn't a draft. You can't blame the government for when a soldier dies in combat, soldiers know the risks that they are putting themselves into. They are fighting and dying so that all Americans can live in freedom, and yes, not joining the war does not make you un-American. Hell, you can even oppose it and still be American. Freedom of speech and protest. The very foundations of this country.

Those who care about peace and freedom are those who truly love their country.
Advocates of death and oppression? PLEASE stop usurping patriotism.
This country was founded on some of the greatest principles this world has seen. Unfortunately, most if not all of our leaders have not lived up to the standard set. My point is that not everyone on this site browses through the Politics forum. Some things are too important to leave for the minority of forum members interested in world affairs to discuss for themselves.
I made this thread not to have illiterate 40-year-old men call me a 15-year-old America-hating socialist.
I made this thread in the hope that people who don't usually look through the Politics forum would see it. It was less for political discussion and more for public knowledge.

in my honest opinion i feel that religious believes have nothing do with it i believe in karma what comes around goes around and i fear world war III is not far off and it will be strcitly nuclear. As for this is will be bad as in the cold war russians had enough snice not to use them but i feel with iranians and koreians they might not have that good sense and i really don't want the war to go to hell though this so we should pull out and let the middle east deal with themselfs and if they come near the U.S. then bomb the hell out of the but as of now we have no business over there. As the person a few posts back said maybe saddam was what they needed to keep the middle eastern people in line. Sand nigger is a racist term and i feel that was exactly one of the main reasons there is some much hate in the world. People are judgeing people before they get to know them and that is wrong. Childish insults! Continue, please. It's all I've ever heard out of you. Your insinuation that he's 16 is only going to make people think that you're the teenager.

Those who care about peace and freedom are those who truly love their country.
Advocates of death and oppression? PLEASE stop usurping patriotism.
This country was founded on some of the greatest principles this world has seen. Unfortunately, most if not all of our leaders have not lived up to the standard set. Our current administration has done more than fail to make America a better world leader. They have ruined America. They are no patriots.
You are no patriot.
Well said! After that speech Bush gave and the grilling Rice got if anyone still supports this war they have to have serious psychological problems.

A NASDAQ-traded company has finally unveiled its long-touted and highly controversial "Digital Angel" -- a subdermal microchip implant designed not merely for keeping tabs on pets, but for widespread, worldwide use in tracking human beings.
The high-tech device, engineered by Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. had its debut Monday before an overflow crowd of more than 300 invited guests at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.
The audience included U.S. Secretary of Commerce Norman Mineta, who addressed the crowd, as well as other government officials, potential joint-venture/licensing partners and press representatives.
Richard J. Sullivan, Applied Digital Solutions' chairman and CEO, waxed eloquent about the market potential of Digital Angel, claiming the company has "uncovered a total marketplace that is conservatively estimated to exceed $70 billion."
Randy Geissler, chairman and CEO of Digital Angel.net Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, zeroed in on potential applications.
"Our analysis shows that we are well-positioned to move quickly into certain applications while developing a number of others. Two areas of particular interest are in the healthcare arena," he said, "monitoring heart disease and respiratory disease patients." The tracking and monitoring of pets, he added, is also "right up our alley."
The demonstration, which was conducted by Dr. Peter Zhou and Dr. Keith Bolton, showed how Digital Angel "can be used to monitor a person's key body functions -- such as temperature and pulse -- and transmit that data wirelessly, on a real time basis, along with the accurate location of the person, to a web-enabled ground station or monitoring facility," according to a press statement.
The technology consists of a miniature sensor device, designed to be implanted just under the skin, that captures and wirelessly transmits the "wearer's" vital body-function data, such as body temperature or pulse, to an Internet-integrated ground station. In addition, the antenna receives information regarding the location of the individual from the GPS satellite. Both sets of data -- medical information and location -- are then wirelessly transmitted to the ground station and made available on Web-enabled desktop, laptop or wireless devices.
A more sophisticated version of microchip technologies currently used as electronic ID tags for pets, Digital Angel is powered electromechanically through muscle movement, or it can be activated by an outside monitoring facility.
As WorldNetDaily has reported, in addition to locating missing persons and monitoring physiological data, Digital Angel will be marketed as a means of verifying online consumer identity for the burgeoning e-commerce world.
In August, Sullivan told WND, "We are currently talking to a watch maker who is interested in placing the device on the back of their watches." He added that "technology is being developed that would allow Digital Angel to function from the back of a cellular phone, transmitting bio-sensor information when carried by the user."
And in an interview last March, the chief scientist, Zhou, told WorldNetDaily he believes the implant will be as popular as cell phones and vaccines.
Digital Angel "will be a connection from yourself to the electronic world. It will be your guardian, protector. It will bring good things to you," said Zhou.
"We will be a hybrid of electronic intelligence and our own soul," he added.

How about these quotes can you guys believe it? Even from Hagel!
"I have to say, Madam Secretary, that I think this speech given last night by this president represents the most dangerous foreign policy blunder in this country since Vietnam," announced Hagel, who earned two Purple Hearts as an infantryman in that war.
"I've gone along with the president on this, and I bought into his dream," Ohio Sen. George Voinovich added a few minutes later. "At this stage of the game, I don't think it's going to happen." Minnesota's Norm Coleman seemed to agree: "The cost is too high," he said of the plan for more troops. New Hampshire's John Sununu expressed mild disappointment. Added Alaska's Lisa Murkowski: "I'm not convinced, as I look to the plan that the president presented yesterday, that what we are seeing is that much different than what we have been doing in the past."

I was waiting for that.
Anyway, rules are rules, I understand.
I hear you. I truly do. And I not only understand the motivation, I agree with it--the importance of getting more than the opinions of the older seasoned politicos in residence. Sadly, those folks are accustomed to fighting pretty dirty, and that's really the reason it has to go into that forum.
I also agree with you on the illiterate 40-year-old man thing, too. The debate would somehow make more sense without that overemotional anger and instead with thoughtful consideration. Oh, and he's not yet 40, actually.
One thing you can do, if you'd like to, is put a little promo thread on the main forum urging people to check in with the latest thread in politics and give their opinion, even if they don't normally frequent that forum. Then you could link it . . . That would help drive them there from the main lounge, and I might even come after you and add a little disclaimer that it contains some heated debates. I could also create the promo, too, if you prefer. Above all, I want you see that I think getting those younger opinions is important, too, and that I truly didn't move this thread over some arbitrary "mod power" decision.

Jay Bennish is a social studies, American history and political geography teacher at Overland High School in Aurora, Colorado. He joined the faculty in 2000.
On February 1, 2006, student Sean Allen recorded one of Bennish's lectures on his iPod. Allen took his objections regarding Bennish's class to the media, and this developed into an international story.

[edit] The recorded class
After being prompted by students to talk about the State of the Union Address given by U.S. President George W. Bush the previous evening, Bennish suggested that Bush's tone was "eerily similar" to that of Adolf Hitler's speeches (in that both were very ethnocentric), and that capitalism was "at odds with human rights".
Bennish also posed the question, "who is probably the single most violent nation on planet Earth?", concurring with a student's response "we [the United States] are". He encouraged students to consider how other nations might see the United States and its allies, suggesting that "to many Native Americans [the American] flag is no different from the Nazi flag," and that Palestinians see the Israelis as "the real terrorists". Speaking about the U.S. "war on drugs" in Colombia, he made a reductio ad absurdum argument suggesting that other countries might have reason to drop chemicals on U.S. tobacco fields "to destroy the tobacco plants that are killing millions and millions of people in their countries every year, and causing them billions of dollars in healthcare costs".
The recording ends with Bennish saying, "I'm not in any way implying that you should agree with me. I don't know if I'm even necessarily taking a position. But what I'm trying to get you to do is to think [?] about these issues more in-depth, [?] and not just to take things from the surface. I'm glad you asked all of your questions, 'cause they're all very good, legitimate questions, and hopefully that'll allow other people to think about those things, too."

Aint it the truth. Christian conservatives are for the death penalty and against abortion, An oxymoron if ever there was! It's ok to kill you once you're born! Now as far as war, if it is profitable, then it's allright to kill the "Enemy", the dead Americans are considered collateral damage along with the hundreds of thousands of civilian dead. The almighty dollar rules! I think that every person that condones this war should have to go there and fight! That would stop the damn thing!

If you'll read back, Bong, you'll see that I didn't call you a name. I was simply repeating what LuckyNine had said. I don't much care about how literate you are, anyway. If I cared about that with members here, well, I'd be in for fairly steady disappointment. I do care that you get so heated at times that you lose your cool. You have valid arguments, and someday you're going to get to the point where you see that the calmer and cooler you stay as you're making them, the more converts you'll win. Also, the more respect. This is why, among many reasons, it's so troubling for people to listen to Michael Savage. He's a slavering, screaming, emo madman, and until he learns how to keep the crazy-angry-factor in check, no rational, reasonable people can take him seriously.
Truly, no offense intended to you, my friend. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. And I think you know that.

I'm not going to take shots at you, Bong, and I didn't mean to with my repetition of that word earlier. If that hurt you, I regret it and apologize. You can deny this if you want to, but I do think that, deep down, you know it's important to me to be courteous and civil to folks. Heck, you even know the reasons why better than most. (The life-is-frighteningly-short-we-might-as-well-be-nice lesson I learned in early November when I lost my sister.)
You can choose to be hurt and offended by my repeating that word, or you can choose to see that that repetition wasn't intended maliciously. In the end, I suspect my record of taking the high road will still reflect pretty darn well in comparison to some others I can think of . . . . And if you do choose the hurt-offended route, that'll reveal a lot more about yourself than you might realize.
Love and light to you, Bong. From one of the smartest liberals you'll ever encounter. (And one of the most tolerant, too.)

Yeah, that is pretty perverse now that I see it listed that way. Good eye-opener!
I'd definitely like another name than Clinton on the end there. Hillary can't win anway. She might get a nomination, but she'll lose it for our team if she does. Too much deep hate and mistrust of her. That's why we need Obama and Edwards to really step up to the plate and join together, I think.

Well said.
BlueCat, I've been skimming through that paper, and it's great. I tutor students at a middle school, and I'm starting to realize the failures of our education system. Not that NCLB is helping.
Well, it seems that the majority of this thread has unfortunately been focussed on issues other than the main one, and the only important one --
THE IRAQ ESCALATION and the horrors it will bring.
I know this thread is suppose to be about Iraq...I am going to look up some other stuff and start a thread on the US education system...I swear I was never so disappointed in all my life...Our current system beats kids down and runs on intimidation...hope you'll contribute :)

That's kind of a silly statement to make.
If I dont like the current condition of the state I live in I should run for Congress. I support Education so I should be a teacher.
The swimwear competition of a beauty contest was under fire so I entered the contest and wore a bikini.
So if I speak out against crime I should be a cop. Otherwsie I should keep my mouth shut or I'm not a man, right?

It is silly IF taken out of context...if you look at his other posts he promotes war. Anyone that actually talks as if they ENJOY what is going down in this war should be with the boots on the ground.
Yes if you are saying lets go kick their asses lets nuke the entire middle east you should keep your mouth shut...If you are not brave enough to put yourself in the same danger you want our troops to be in YES I believe you should just shut your mouth.
READ his posts and his other threads then you can tell me how silly I am.

Really though, you know my feelings regarding all this but do ya really think that they would take a 44 year old two pack a day smoker? Get real. IF they would, I wouldn't be moderating this site right now. Believe it or not....doesn't really matter.
My grandfather served, my father, my son. The ONLY reason I didn't was because of a medical.......hell, they told me about it at the physical. I was in a treatment facility when I was 16 due to the matter of my parents not appreciating me being just a tad stoned.:rasta: When I tried to join, they said I had a mental disorder (I'm feeling much better now!:D ). I guess being a tad high wasn't appeciated by the military at that time either.:(

Explain to me please, How would the people of this world truely ever make life safe? You honestly think some how the USA will stop Everyone from getting nuclear power? You honestly belive we will stop every single Nuclear weapon from going to (the wrong guy)? You think we can keep nuclear power from everyone? How are we going to keep Nuclear Power from everyone Forever?
Even if you destroy Iran, Can't a radical extreamist buy one?
If Iran really wanted a nuke to destroy Israel why haven't they just bought one and blew em up by now? Why would they wait tell they built a bunch of power plants and then wait tell they have Spent rods and then build bombs, Knowing that the USA and everyone else has eyes in the sky?
Why is the USA not going after North Korea? They have nukes or they have a earthquake machine ROFL.
And what makes you think that a war with Iran would stop it all? Iran isn't even part of Al-qaeda, So are you forgetting about them?

You know Psycho...I spent my morning watching CNN every weekend they show the Medical units and I watch hoping to get a glimpse of Tommy. I have been crying all morning. They were showing a young soldier being taken off of life support and Tommy was just telling me how he had to do that very thing. I turned the TV off then I turned it on again because I realized HE CAN"T turn off. I still had to mute it because I just couldn't take it. I feel so guilty for that. I have put my child into a situation that I could not handle. This is very hard for me and I don't understand YOU not being upset. I don't understand the way you so blindly except this.
I blame myself for pushing my son into the medical field. He wanted to be a cook. He volunteered at the Buddhist temple, he worked at the Owl hospital such a gentle person now maybe I have destroyed what he was. How can you NOT be having a hard time with this. My heart is breaking. When he gets out if he wants to buy a little Sushi bar in Central America I will be behind him 100 %...
I showed my kids the truth about their Government and OTHER governments because I thought it would help them in life. All 3 boys have said once they got out into the real world they were to SO happy to have liberal parents...and I LOVE being called a pinko commie mommy.. you will just have to deal with my anti war posts it is who I am.
my kids said they listened to what we said about the Governments, religions,
etc and of course it went in one ear and out the other they thought we were kinda nuts ...but it really feels good when they call and say you guys were so right...and they thank you.
The problem is by trying to get them to understand MONEY is not the answer and ALWAYS doing what is right is...they want to be in the Peace Corp, they want to be in the Service to be where the world problems are.
I am not going to feel guilty for that but I do feel that I may have encouraged them into dangerous situations because they don't buy the bullshit and they are having to deal with brainwashed nuts who think killing is the answer to everything.
You know it is not rocket science. You know in your heart what right and wrong is. Do you honestly think dropping bombs on innocent people is the right thing to do? Selling people weapons so they can kill more innocent people is WRONG. Killing is WRONG.
This is not about WMDs, it is not about democracy, or womens rights, so you can drop that crap! it is the same imperialist expansionism that has gone one for centuries!
The United States government beleives it is the their job or as Kipling said the "White Man's Burden" of bringing "civilization" to the other races of the world, whether they wanted such civilization or not.
There is no way you guys can dress it up or spin it into bravery. It is cowardly. It is wrong.
You do not create PEACE my killing innocent people you create control and that is only temporary..
Live the fanstasy I understand why you do it..Its the easier path.

The US media is virtually silent on a new scientific study that estimates the Iraqi death toll from the US war at 655,000. The study, conducted by Johns Hopkins University??s Bloomberg School of Public Health and funded by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was posted Wednesday on the web site of the British medical journal, the Lancet.
The study is the only systematic estimate of the number of Iraqi civilians and military personnel to have died as a result of the US invasion and occupation to be brought to the attention of the American and international public.
Unlike previous estimates, which were based on reviews of media reports or tallies made by the US-backed Iraqi government, the Johns Hopkins study was carried out by Iraqi physicians who interviewed??often at great personal risk??nearly 2,000 families spread across the country, utilizing standard and widely used statistical methods to arrive at an objective estimate of the death toll from the war and occupation.
The vast majority of the reported deaths were substantiated by death certificates.
The study concluded with a 95 percent degree of certainty that the number of ??excess deaths? in Iraq since the invasion??the number of people who have died in excess of the number that would be expected on the basis of pre-invasion mortality rates??is between 393,000 and 943,000. The figure of 655,000 is given as the most likely number. This represents an astonishing 2.5 percent of the entire Iraqi population.
The researchers further estimated that about 600,000 of the deaths were due to violence in some form, including gunshots, air strikes and bombings. They concluded that US and allied military forces directly caused at least 31 percent??or 186,000??of the violent deaths.
Some 336,000 people, or 56 percent of those killed in violent actions since the invasion, died from gunshot wounds. The study also found that the number of violent deaths in Iraq has steadily increased every year since the invasion. In the period from June 2005 to June 2006, the researchers found a nearly four-fold increase in the mortality rate relative to pre-invasion levels.
There can be no legitimate doubts about the credibility of the study. Lancet is one of the oldest and most prestigious peer-reviewed medical publications in the world. The Johns Hopkins public health school is the largest in the world, and regularly ranks as the top public health school in the United States. The journal article was reviewed and approved for publication by four independent scientific experts in the area.
It is difficult to overestimate the significance of the report, even if one assumes its low-end estimate of 393,000 Iraqi deaths to be correct.
It demonstrates that the American intervention in Iraq has produced a social and humanitarian catastrophe of historical dimensions, with vast political implications not only in the Middle East, but throughout the world and, above all, in the United States itself.

No, but all we can do is our best and hope to hell we covered the worst possible scenerio. Do you think that Iran would be a safe nation with nuclear missiles? Do you think North Korea is? how about Israel? how about Pakistan?
I think no one shouls say that someone Can Not have them. Why should we if others can't? why should China or Russia for that matter?
Can't do much about the nations that have them but we can try to foresee future problems. Iran called for Israels destruction......not that hard of a concept on why Iran shouldn't have them. Which countries that you've mentioned openly did such a thing?
Everyone? Why everyone? Someone that talks of complete destruction of a country and it's people.....we should sure as hell try.
Yeah and (the country thats being told it's going to be destroyed) should take care of there own problem with out the USA helping.
Why should Israel have nukes and Iran not?
Because the French went against the world community to make some cash....something some of the people like to ignore about the situation. Once a country has nukes.....games done.
Who's going to sell it to these nuts.....we'd track down the source and deal with THAT country with the same respect. THAT is why they don't currently have a missile. France sold nukes to Israel, so why are we not killing them both?
LOL.......don't get me started on France!
Because Allah protects the cause. Hell, their waiting for that dude to pop out of a well. What does that tell ya? Tells me they have Faith. I believe that Jesus is going to destroy all who pick up the sword, and that people need to start wakeing up that mankind will not bring peace.
OMG! So that's it? Radical factions believe that Allah wants them to kill all that do not follow the faith. Jesus says "Do Not Kill". Sorry Jesus.......These M.F.s aren't getting off that easy.
There's daddys and children countries in this world.....that's Chinas' son. China also realizes that if they allow N. Korea to keep up the shit....Japan will arm in a defensive nature; the VERY last thing China wants. So If North Korea doesn't stop china will kill one of it's few allies?
Check it out.......they could kill the power and send the entire country into the stone age. How long would the military follow their leaders if that shit happened?
Or if Japan does then China will start a War with the Weaker USA who is spread thin ATM? You can't see how close to WW3 we are can you? You understand that China likes Iran right? Seems like if the USA keep what there doing up China will have alot more Friends.
China likes Iranian oil.......do you really believe that China would have anything to do with Iranian philosophy?
You know China and Russia have never had such a good friendship than ATM. They are doing Joint Military operations.
LOL......they have in the past and if I recall correctly Russia got screwed every time.
LOL.......the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Do YOU really believe there is NO relationship between Iran and Al-Quada? A war with Iran won't stop it all but it would slow things up. Wait till they have a nuke and see what the number dead is then. You said it your self A WAR WITH IRAN WON'T STOP IT. Slow things up? Thats what I said, you wont stop anything just slow it down and possably make more hate you along the way.
Iran currently have 11.5 million people marked for death.....what does that tell you?
More hate the USA Now than in 2001, I wonder why? Ah the Peace War. This War is going to be like the Energizer Bunny, and bring in huge Profit for alot of CEO's.
I recall the same thing at the end of the Reagan days. The world hated us.......oh well. Why don't they just cut off trade if we're doing so many bad things? What other country in the world is ran in an order just to please everyone else? It's tough to be the big dog........ya get alot more knats.:D
Thanks for the reply by the way..:rasta:

I respect your opinions.....don't understand concerning the fact of your hubby and son but hey, not a big deal. Your right to your own thoughts.
Consider the U.S./Canada on the order of a Green Zone. Pretty quiet here compared to the rest of the world. Problem is, there are those that don't care for the standard of living of the Green Zone. See the plan for distribution of oil profits? Each Iraqi citizen will recieve an estimated yearly check for $3,500. Husband and wife would be $7,000. At the present their average yearly income is $1,500.
Now think about it. The average yearly income in the U.S. is about $42,000. What if at the end of the year checks in the sum of $90,000 to everyone of voting age with estimations of nothing but increase were sent out? MOST people would be VERY content. :D

Can't do much about the nations that have them but we can try to foresee future problems. Iran called for Israels destruction......not that hard of a concept on why Iran shouldn't have them. Which countries that you've mentioned openly did such a thing?
Israel has made countless veiled nuclear threats against the Arab nations and against the Soviet Union (and by extension Russia since the end of the Cold War). One chilling example comes from Ariel Sharon, the current Israeli Prime Minister "Arabs may have the oil, but we have the matches."
In another example, Israeli nuclear expert Oded Brosh said in 1992, "...we need not be ashamed that the nuclear option is a major instrumentality of our defense as a deterrent against those who attack us." According to [Israeli human rights activist] Israel Shahak (http://www.wrmea.com/archives/october01/0110071.html), "The wish for peace, so often assumed as the Israeli aim, is not in my view a principle of Israeli policy, while the wish to extend Israeli domination and influence is." and "Israel is preparing for a war, nuclear if need be, for the sake of averting domestic change not to its liking, if it occurs in some or any Middle Eastern states.... Israel clearly prepares itself to seek overtly a hegemony over the entire Middle East..., without hesitating to use for the purpose all means available, including nuclear ones."
...[sraeli Foreign Minister] Shimon Peres; "acquiring a superior weapons system (read nuclear) would mean the possibility of using it for compellent purposes - that is forcing the other side to accept Israeli political demands, which presumably include a demand that the traditional status quo be accepted and a peace treaty signed." From a slightly different perspective, Robert Tuckerr asked in a Commentary magazine article in defense of Israeli nukes, "What would prevent Israel... from pursuing a hawkish policy employing a nuclear deterrent to freeze the status quo?"
.....Another major use of the Israeli bomb is to compel the U.S. to act in Israel's favor, even when it runs counter to its own strategic interests. As early as 1956 Francis Perrin, head of the French A-bomb project wrote "We thought the Israeli Bomb was aimed at the Americans, not to launch it at the Americans, but to say, 'If you don't want to help us in a critical situation we will require you to help us; otherwise we will use our nuclear bombs.'" During the 1973 war, Israel used nuclear blackmail to force Kissinger and Nixon to airlift massive amounts of military hardware to Israel. The Israeli Ambassador, Simha Dinitz, is quoted as saying, at the time, "If a massive airlift to Israel does not start immediately, then I will know that the U.S. is reneging on its promises and...we will have to draw very serious conclusions..." Just one example of this strategy was spelled out in 1987 by Amos Rubin, economic adviser to Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, who said "If left to its own Israel will have no choice but to fall back on a riskier defense which will endanger itself and the world at large... To enable Israel to abstain from dependence on nuclear arms calls for $2 to 3 billion per year in U.S. aid." ....
....It is clear from Israel Shahak that Israel has no interest in peace except that which is dictated on its own terms, and has absolutely no intention of negotiating in good faith to curtail its nuclear program or discuss seriously a nuclear-free Middle East,"Israel's insistence on the independent use of its nuclear weapons can be seen as the foundation on which Israeli grand strategy rests."
According to Seymour Hersh, "the size and sophistication of Israel's nuclear arsenal allows men such as Ariel Sharon to dream of redrawing the map of the Middle East aided by the implicit threat of nuclear force." .... Ze'ev Shiff, an Israeli military expert writing in Haaretz said, "Whoever believes that Israel will ever sign the UN Convention prohibiting the proliferation of nuclear weapons... is day dreaming," and Munya Mardoch, Director of the Israeli Institute for the Development of Weaponry, said in 1994, "The moral and political meaning of nuclear weapons is that states which renounce their use are acquiescing to the status of Vassal states. All those states which feel satisfied with possessing conventional weapons alone are fated to become vassal states."
..... Seymour Hersh warns, "Should war break out in the Middle East again,... or should any Arab nation fire missiles against Israel, as the Iraqis did, a nuclear escalation, once unthinkable except as a last resort, would now be a strong probability." Ezar Weissman, Israel's current President said "The nuclear issue is gaining momentum (and the) next war will not be conventional." Russia and before it the Soviet Union has long been a major (if not the major) target of Israeli nukes. It is widely reported that the principal purpose of Jonathan Pollard's spying for Israel was to furnish satellite images of Soviet targets and other super sensitive data relating to U.S. nuclear targeting strategy. (Since launching its own satellite in 1988, Israel no longer needs U.S. spy secrets.) Israeli nukes aimed at the Russian heartland seriously complicate disarmament and arms control negotiations and, at the very least, the unilateral possession of nuclear weapons by Israel is enormously destabilizing, and dramatically lowers the threshold for their actual use, if not for all out nuclear war
Because the French went against the world community to make some cash....something some of the people like to ignore about the situation. Once a country has nukes.....games done. There All going to have one soon enouf. Lets start the plain that brings peace to that time.
OMG! So that's it? Radical factions believe that Allah wants them to kill all that do not follow the faith. Jesus says "Do Not Kill". Sorry Jesus.......These M.F.s aren't getting off that easy. 1. Consequences of Nuking Mecca
By: Vernon Richards, author of ??Islam Undressed??
Because a war of attrition heavily favors their ultimate goals, Islamist terrorists have so far not been deterred by large numbers of their young men being killed. Life is cheap to them, even their own, and so they remain unmoved by their losses and still lust for power through murder. Their grass-roots support base, billions of Muslims world-wide, can still be counted on to largely support their efforts, even if only passively. If sufficiently humbled, then at some point the majority of Muslims might yet choose to abandon violence and stop their sons, or at least temporarily withdraw their jihadist forces to established realms of influence (just as the Turkish hordes did after being soundly defeated by the Polish cavalry). But any decision to withdraw will not come by either negotiation or accommodation, but only through abject humiliation and defeat. What form of defeat will suffice to convince Islam to put the Jihad genie back in the bottle is a subject of widespread debate. Pacifists blithely claim more therapy, understanding, and multiculturalism is the way, and will likely continue to spout such nonsense right up until the Halal knife slices their throat. They congratulate themselves for being so open-minded, oblivious that their brains have fallen out. Happily self-blinded by excessive relativism, they can no longer distinguish right from wrong, good from evil, or dark from light.
Those more personally touched by Islamic methods, and with the ability to realize you cannot create sweets from bile, often prefer methods of ??total war??. Our enemies remain free to plan and perpetrate never-ending acts of total war designed to destroy the very fabric of our society. Failure to respond with even greater destructiveness will only serve to prolong this struggle. In any contest, the first rule of victory is to fight on your own terms and not your opponents. In any violent struggle, victory goes to the most ferocious and skilled. As Patton said, let the other poor bastard die for his country, our objective is to fight and win. We must fight with more energy, more cunning, more intelligence, and more ferocity than the cunning animals seeking our demise. It is simply suicidal to refuse to fight a people and culture who are motivated, mobilized, and pledged to destroy you. The true terrorists, the men and nations brainwashing, supplying, and ordering terrorist attacks, would prefer they remain unmolested. They are quite happy to let us use our police, military, and intelligence to play cat and mouse with their endless supply of terrorist foot-soldiers in this contest stacked against us. In this war, victory will go to the party most effective in convincing the opposing party that surrender is preferable to a continuation of hostilities, and so victory will remain out of reach to us as long as the enablers and handlers remain safe. Muslim survivalists will only force the end to the terrorist activities springing up from amongst them when made to pay a terrible price. One ??terrible price?? currently under debate is an nuclear attack on Mecca should any 9/11 scale attack (or larger) occur on US soil. I am in favor of such planning in the event of a catastrophic strike against America, because I believe the burden of loss needs to be shifted decidedly to fundamental Muslims themselves (and what they value most) if there is to be any hope of ending all this madness. To yield to Islamists demands and take the option off the table would be strategically stupid. Unfortunately, the only thing an insanity respects is greater insanity.
But as has been pointed out by Robert Spencer, Nuking Mecca could also be seen by Islamists as a weak action and could serve to unify Muslims and increase Jihad. But this is only true if not done properly and the city is left salvageable within a few years. Once devoted Muslims carry out their next major strike on America, the Mecca plan should be carried out without hesitation or warning. No Hiroshima class atomic wimp-weapon will do, only the 1,000 times more powerful hydrogen fusion device will work for this important job. To be done correctly, a grid of 9 of our most powerful Hydrogen bombs (3x3, every 12 miles, the black stone at the center) are set off at the surface to be as dirty as possible, rendering the entire region uninhabitable for the next few decades. The strike is then repeated every 5 years or so if any kind of clean-up is attempted. Medina needs one too, to prevent Arabs from declaring the transference of the holy site to the secondary location, but Mecca needs to be thoroughly ??glassified??.
Muslims will thereby learn by force-feeding that their hateful God (Allah) cannot protect them and is a figment of their collective imagination, and millions will leave the failed cult. Nothing harms an Arab more than humiliation and defeat. They sincerely believe that their most-powerful Allah has promised to protect and preserve Mecca, and so their false faith in the Pagan deity will crumble with the meteorite in the intense heat and pressure of a fusion fireball. Can a billion Moslems worldwide face radioactive glass 5 times a day and still take it seriously, I don??t think so, or at least not over the long term. Cut off the head and the snake will still squirm for a while, but it will soon stop. In addition, by preventing Muslims from -ever- performing one of the pillars (requirements) of Islam, we block their way to paradise, but thereby actually save them from real hell (Islam is hell-on-earth is this life, and brings only sorrow and torment in the next). When the time comes, by all means, Nuke Mecca, ?but do it right. By this act, and this act alone, many intelligent Arabs, Persians, Egyptians, and Asians will stop their foolish ideas of superiority, and so curb their sanctimonious rationales to commit hateful acts of murder, rape, slavery, and violence. Domestic Muslims will need to be controlled for a while, with heavy doses of education and trauma therapy applied. If they can commit to opposing Muhammad and his methods, then in a generation or two Islamic nonsense will not be worshiped by their children. If they can make no such binding commitment, then deportation is in order. As Hiroshima saved more lives than it took 60 years ago, so will thoroughly nuking Islamic sites save more lives than will be taken otherwise, including possibly yours, mine, and your children and my children.
While we all hope such measures are unnecessary, to fail to plan for that eventuality is to plan to fail. If we were to Nuke major cities in Iran and Syria, the root of Islam in Mecca would remain and worldwide faith in Muhammad and his vile methods would be strengthened instead of weakened. Such a weak act would embolden the movement and the gains in destroying America would be perceived as well worth the cost. In the mean time, while we all await for the rumored catastrophe, a concerted effort to supply Persians with the means and weapons to overthrow the Mullahs is urgently needed in Iran. Our Persian allies in this effort need to understand that they will likely die with the Mullahs in the inevitable nuclear storm which will follow should they fail. The Kurds of northern Syria are also salvageable, but there is hardly anything else worth preserving in Syria. As I have been informed by Jordanian and Lebanon Arabs, Syrians are not to be trusted, and for reason.
Lets end this shit, or they could reform there dumb religon

I find that a bit insultive. Since "91" I decided to study the regions history and found the religious aspect VERY interesting. How much of the Quran have you read. You just don't get it building a McDonalds and a Wal-Mart simply won't fix this one. Money won't fix it and neither will oil. The only thing that will stop the violence is to GET OUT.
$3,500 per each Iraqi registered. We'll see.....do I get to watch you eat crow or should I just take your word for it? LOL.......post a pic for us.
Not everyone in the military are blood thirty killers like you guys get off on thinking there are many many past and present heroes... the bad guys are the arm chair warriors that really DON'T know SHIT but want so called "freedom" at any cost..You two would drop bombs from your lazyboys if they'd let you!
WE are the bad guys. Hell ya, it's worse to state an opinion than to wear a suicide vest into a market. COME ON NOW!
We don't have proper schools in this country!! Our education is some of the WORST in the world.
Are you serious? Whats our rank.........got a link from a reputable site?
We don't have proper medical care for half this country. I know family after family that can't buy enough food to make it though the week.
I know college students that are eating out of dumpsters behind cafes and can't turn their heat on AND pay their tuition. We won't even go into the corporate raping of students and school books.
Woudn't it be nice if we had the oil reserves in proportion to that of Iraq. Image it, it would be like these people received a check for $90,000 each year form the government. THAT would take care of your complaints and many other peoples. See my point at all about the payout in Iraq for $3,500?
We can't even secure our own borders and you think we can do it in Iraq? Why should we? Why do you support social efforts in a country in which you hate the people and their religion? You guys are real patriots.
I want our soldiers to come home and start protectingTHEIR country we need them right here at home. You guys keep on supporting Iraq. I will support Americans. In case you have not noticed the majority in this country wants this war to stop NOW.
I don't hate the people or their religion. If they can tolorate others I can tolorate them. There are many, many fine Muslims out there and I've NEVER stated any different. The KKK follows the Baptist religion pretty much but does that mean that all Baptists are racist? HELL NO!
Back in the old days my friend we would have been having a good ol' war about some of these accusations but I don't feel right doing that shit these days for obvious reasons.
Bong30 rips up on some.......and I see it's thrown back in his face from different directions. EVERYONE in here has a right to an opinion no matter what it is (to a point).
Have a good one!

So i have read many parts of it, been tested on it, and dicussed it in a classroom setting
I would compete in the DECA clubs in General Marketing and do very well.
I got As in Micro and Macro Econ in college too......
Thanks For asking...I do not remeber reading the wealth of nations cover to cover though No.
