how much fertilizer should you mix in with a gallon of water when you just start fertilizing?

What kind of fert? If it's miracle grow make sure you use half of the recommended dose. Peace.

its sta greens 18-24-10 but i wana switch to 28-2-4 cause i heard high nitrogen is good, but I duno if that to low of everything else

I was told by a seasoned grower that your N should be the sum of your P and K so I'd assume that 28-2-4 would be too low for the P and K.

if you wanna know how much fert- follow the directions on the bottle. Never exceed the highest recommended amount, but when you start off feeding young plants use a lowered amount- like 1/4 strength.
