Hey, if we're listening to it 40 years later, why not another couple batches of 40 later? :)

I think some things (music included) go full-circle. The answer is yes

Yes. Good art no matter what shape, form or medium it takes is timeless.

Look at it this way, we still listen to Beathoven, Mozart, Holst and a whole bunch of other classical composers and they've been dead for centuries. Have no fear, I dont think Pink Floyd will go away.

I guarentee it.

I see young teenage kids with Pink Floyd shirts sometimes. Pink Floyd started in the mid-1960's, when many of their parents were either very young or, in some cases, not yet born.

Yes, bands like Floyd, Zeppelin, Beatles, The Who will still be popular in the future, just like the great composers are, because they revolutionized music. Luckily we have already forgotten Milli Vanilli, and Criss Cross.

I could never really get into Floyd that much, they are good and I like there stuff, but definately not in my top 25 artists ever. They are too dreamy, slow, ambient for me at most times. I like more of the down home stuff like blues, country, rock n rolll. Jazz is awesome as well, Charlie Parker is the fuckin' man. I like Pink Floyd in small and discrete doses.

Except for Have a Cigar, one of my favorite songs of all time.

I am sure they will be listening to Pink Floyd after I am dead if I die soon but the world is going to end on Dec 23rd 2012 so you all had better get your Floyd in now while the getting is good.

No because Pink Floyd sucks.

I'm sure Floyd will still be around, but personally, they've definitely grown tiresome and over-played. A spacey band like that can only hold my attention for so long.

Not really my cup of tea. I'm looking to stay awake and alert when I hear music. ~

We can only hope. But is it just me or are kids getting progressively dumber?

I think they will stand the test of time.
Shit, I got all weirded out the other day when I heard someones cell phone go off and the ringtone was like the fucking Queen of the Night aria from Mozart's Magic Flute.... in like 2506 if they still have any use for ringtones- which they won't I'm sure... well anyway, maybe not kids listening to Pink Floyd but older intellectuals sitting in their studies, lol... I'm thinking of whatsit from CSI.... the boss guy... listening to Carmen...

It's not you. It's the lack of ability to entertain onesself using just the basics.. a bag of marbles, some string, maybe a plastic bow and arrows...now all you need is a $500 game system and you can just sit there and... shit I'm gonna get flamed.

Anyway Splifted if you want a good read try finding a copy of a book called 'amusing ourselves to death'. Pretty damning.

It has a good a chance of ending then as any other time.

I think if they hear it enough when they're young they'll like it because if you hear any music a lot of times you start to like it.

Well, if "like EVERYONE" says it, it must be true...lol.

I mean, at the rate we're going that in the next couple centuries we'll probably do ourselves in, but 2012? Yeah right.

What about jesus coming in 2000? But oh wait, then it was 2001. I don't see any fucking Jesus.
