Hey, if we're listening to it 40 years later, why not another couple batches of 40 later?

Yes. Good art no matter what shape, form or medium it takes is timeless.
Look at it this way, we still listen to Beathoven, Mozart, Holst and a whole bunch of other classical composers and they've been dead for centuries. Have no fear, I dont think Pink Floyd will go away.

I see young teenage kids with Pink Floyd shirts sometimes. Pink Floyd started in the mid-1960's, when many of their parents were either very young or, in some cases, not yet born.

Yes, bands like Floyd, Zeppelin, Beatles, The Who will still be popular in the future, just like the great composers are, because they revolutionized music. Luckily we have already forgotten Milli Vanilli, and Criss Cross.

I could never really get into Floyd that much, they are good and I like there stuff, but definately not in my top 25 artists ever. They are too dreamy, slow, ambient for me at most times. I like more of the down home stuff like blues, country, rock n rolll. Jazz is awesome as well, Charlie Parker is the fuckin' man. I like Pink Floyd in small and discrete doses.
Except for Have a Cigar, one of my favorite songs of all time.\"Where I come from, you don\'t blow no harp, you don\'t get no pussy.\" Willie Brown
\"I didn\'t mean to kill nobody, I just meant to shoot the son-of-a-bitch in the head. Him dying was between him and the Lord.\" - R.L. Burnside
