yes! I'm good. lol
as far as the grow, I'm looking ahead to 12/20 when I go on eight day holiday to Florida. At seven weeks of veg I'll shut off the lamps for 36 hours and go on to 12on-12off. I'll use the same lighting for that first week of flowering while I'm away and add the 250W HPS when I get back. I figure it may only need water once during that week, so my brother will see to that.
Sounds like a good idea. Yeah, the plant should be fine, it may be a bit droopy when you come back, but as you know, thats nothing to worry about, a quick water and it's all happy again. I've got some 90% sativas on the grow and some pure indicas, should be a nice harvest, depending on what the female/male ratio is, but it shouldnt be too bad. I've already grown this sativa before, it's me own strain, Some of the seeds have the ruderalis traight from the ruderalis skunk i put into the mix. Shame it was displayed in all the seeds, but meh, i dont care,. It's got a killer smoke. At a sensible estimation i think the THC content for the sativa is probably about 18%
This indica is a nice short fat bushy one, well, most of them are, but it's really good for medicinal hash, the resin production is crazy, it's up there with WR at 22 - 25%
And any hash made from it would be killer.
Cant wait for the knock out smoke lol.
Cant wait to see your pics either, i hop they sort it all out lol.

Sounds like a good grow going Lip. If we were neighbors we'd swap weed. Nothing like variety (and free).
Week 5
each of two buckets has a 12"-14" monster plant and a nice healthy smaller plant of 8" lots of vegitation. I also have four smaller pails with a plant in each that are doing well. They took some Neptune organic seaweed/fish emulsion fertalizer last week.
The window box sized planter had over forty decent plants crammed into it. I thinned it down to ten. I would hold the stem near the soil with thumb and index finger and pull the stem out, leaving most of the roots in place, do disruption of the 10 remaining plants. I plan to give them to bro when he gets his shit together. Meanwhile, I've moved them to thier own light, a 250 HPS and timed it for 12-12. I want to experiment with a nutritional suppliment containing Sodium Phosphate, Potasium Bicarbinate and some amino acids and vitamins. No added sugars, salts or preservatives. The idea is to use this for flower developement. I'll try it on one or two of the window box specimens and one of the small pail plants.

it will take some time for those to flower if they arent already on internodes, if i were you, i'd wait for one of your own to test it, it should be fine...

Funny thing, ADream. One of the flowerbox plants has female pistils.
Last week I changed things around. I enlarged the grow space to 4' x 4'. I put the flowerbox in there with the other plants and added the 250W HPS. The lighting is 18-6. Photos on the other thread.

At six weeks we saw the first plant go to alternating. This is the largest plant, one of the larger plants that were FIMed a little over a week ago. These plants are really growing some tops (photos aren't so great).
[attachment=o107438]
Left bucket has a large FIM plant and the triple leaf which isn't cropped. The right bucket has the largest plant and a smaller one, both FIMed.
[attachment=o107439]
Here are the "back-up" plants. A box of nine LSTed and four smaller pots. Again, sorry for the poor photo.

No photos today. But I did manage to burn a few leaves on the lamps.
Getting close to 12on -12off (next weekend).
This week I fed with the fish-kelp ferts and P/K suppliment. The two tallest plants in the buckets are 18" and 24". The 24" is female.
Another one of the flowerbox LSTs show female too.
The TopMax was delivered today. And the 2700K lamps should be all here by Wednesday.

Here are the plants "drip drying" after their flush before I put them back under the lights. I discovered another male in the flowerbox and removed it. I also rearranged the LST a bit. Lots of top action on the FIMed plants but difficult to see that in these pics.
Later this week I'll rearrange the lights and plants, change the (2) T8 and (4) T5 lamps from 4200K to 2700K warm white. I'll likely stay with the one 250 HPS for early on as the total watts is 530w. As the plants take up more room I'll add the second 250 HPS.
The plants will go through a 36 hour dark period before they begin 12-12. The nutes will be the same Neptune Fish/kelp with TopMax.

Ok, no new pics today. But I did rearrange the plants, lights, fan and reflectors. Basically, I just raised everything to make room for future growth. The Fim-ed tops have not totally recovered but not doing too bad. The new growth has been healthy.
Also, today starts 12 on-12 off. I had hoped that the flowering lamps would all be in but not yet. I'll go pic up the (2) T8 lamps that they do have in stock tomorrow. The lamps will actually be 3000K not 2700K but close enough for the price. I did the veg with 4100K cool white (which some folks claim are all but useless) instead of 6500K. I think the plants look pretty good inspite of that : ]
I pay less than $2ea for the 34wT8 and $9ea for the 54wT5.
The side lighting fixture is a brand new (4) lamp T5HO from Ebay for $40 w/lamps! The (2) 250w HPS are a trip, I've never seen their likes. Self contained ballast, like a CFL. It has almost instant on but restrike time is similar to traditional HPS lamps (it takes a few minutes to relight if you shut them off). I picked two of these up for free when I consulted on our church's lighting upgrade and these were removed. To hold these lamps I bought (2) new, 250w hi quality photographer's lamps with switches and ceramic sockets w/ reflectors from Ebay ($20ea). I figure that I can use them with 85-125w CFLs when these HPS lamps are done.
So, no new pics but a little look at some of the hardware I'm using for this econo-grow.

Thats a great deal on the HO T5 Shov - I just paid $140 for a new 4 bulb 6500K New Wave HO T5 and I thought that was a good price!!
Your plants are looking wonderful - looking forward to watching them flower - I just started flowering mine last weekend too so its gonna be fun to check out the similarities & differences.

That is a good price. The best price I found for a new highbay fixture like yours was $119 with my professional discount. My T5 fixture has a white reflector. The polished reflector is nicer but I did consider the price.
I have been watching your grow too. It will be fun if everything continues!

Here's the grow. Not a great pic, just want to show the layout and relative size. There are a couple more 2' x 4' cardboard sheets w/mylar that I removed to access and photograph the grow.
The right hand plant in the bucket is a female and 26" tall, in the left hand bucket the plant is 22" but has not shown yet. The flowerbox is home to about 5-6 LSTed plants, one is female. There are also other few plants here and there. Any males had been dispatched.
They are all doing pretty well, I think.

She is the runt of the crop so far but now has a 5 gal pail to call her own. We'll see if she can put out some bud in the next 8-9 weeks.
I removed the two males in one 6 gal pot, one was a beautiful 24+" and the other was the triple leafed plant. : [

Some plants have shown sex and the males have been 86ed. This is where we are at now with four fems and still three to decide.
Here's an "undecided" living in a smaller pail. Quite dense growth on the bottom of this plant. The top was FIMed and the leaves are very mutated.
[attachment=o110637]
Thes next two photos are of the largest fewm plant (26"+) and a pot-mate who has been tied out to get some light. These two have been FIMed and each look a bit different.
[attachment=o110638] [attachment=o110639]
Here is a fem in the flowerbox. Her two box-mates are doing well but have not shown yet. Hoping for fem as we have pulled a few males out of the box already.
[attachment=o110640]
And finally, the runt fem that I put in the larger pail a couple of days ago. Her and the other small poted plants seemed to have wetter soil and related growth problems than the others. Hopefully this 9" fem can turn on in the next eight weeks or so.

"Undecided" is the last male, which is too bad because it took to the FIM really well. The top leaves after the cut were very twisted and deformed but many tops were starting there, it could have produced a nice top.
Oh well, so all three plants in the box are females.
So, a total of six females, all looking real good. All the containers looked a little dry so I'll water them with the K/P suppliment and TopMax. Last time I fed with the fish/kelp ferts w/ molasses and TomMax. Next time I'll just water.

Almost two weeks of 12-12. Many bud sites on each of the plants.
Here is the flowerbox with three lst. They look very healthy considering they grew up in that box starting with over a hundred others, living in the shade of the other plant buckets. Folks thought that removing the other plants would disrupt the root system and such. That does not seem to be the case here, fortunetly. They don't show any signs of lamp burn or other trauma the other plants experienced. It is difficult to see the bud sites, but there are quite a few. These are bonus plants.
[attachment=o111617]
Here is Runty. She was recently transplanted from a small black pot (see earlier pics). I think she experienced nute lockup due to overwatering and fertilizer but it is curious as I watered/fed each of these plants the same. Some plants just didn't dry out as quickly as the others, I guess.
[attachment=o111618]
Here's Big One and her side kick. She has some lamp burn and other minor problems but is growing pretty well with tons of bud sites on all the branches.
The side kick is basically a single main branch, kind of looks like one of the lower branches of the Big One.

Plants are all doing great. I do have to do some major arranging this afternoon as the geometry of these plants and the grow space are not optimized. As you see, I have one big mother of 35" with her sis, the wee one, less than 12" and the three in the flowerbox. I had been tying down the three but decided that they could get more and even lighting by standing them up, so that;s what they are doing now. The Big One is going to have prime space, as it is going to provide most of the yeild. The other two vessels will have to be fit in as best as I can. The lighting is one 4 lamp T5 for side lighting, a 2 lamp T8 on the top and the 2 HID lamps for the top/back.
I'll photo some bud when I do this arrangement. Oh ya, the grow space really smells from the fish/kelp furts that have spilled on the floor and decomposing. I'll shovel that up best I can and save it in a bucket of soil to finish composting.

It's a window "flowerbox", Brooke. All the plants started from this box, hundreds of them. I took a few out early on and put 'em in buckets. Then I had to thin the boxes eventually as they were tight as could be. Now that the females are all sorted out and the males removed I had these three plants LSTed to the sides. As I have 2'x4' of side lighting, I had to let them stand up to get the best light. I took a day or two, but they straightened right out.
The box measures aprox. 30" x 7" x 7".
The plants in the boat really have a different statute to them, like they're dancing together...salsa or something. They look very happy to me.

Buds are fattening up and getting stinky. The "Big One" is really shakey to move around with that top cola so heavy. Runt and the three in a boat are doing the same. He's a pic of a couple of the "Boat Buds"

First images are of a couple of the "Big One" buds. They are hard and all the hairs are red. No new bud growth or fresh white pistels. Trics are still mostly clear.
[attachment=o118079] [attachment=o118080]
These plants are different pheno than the Big One, with less branching and more compact bud sites. They are having a growth spurt this week with lots of new white pistels.
[attachment=o118081] [attachment=o118082]
I have trained the Big One's cola to the same height as the Runt and the 3 girls in the boat and lowered the T8 fixture to within an inch or two of the tops of all these plants. I have flushed the Big One but am continuing with topmax and molasses for the other plants. Discontinued P/K suppliment and nutes.
So, about two weeks left, more or less...

I guess I'm thinking of Indoors/Cab-Closet/Hydro/Outdoors - those have been the traditional ones and then they put this new Grow Log one a few months back but thy buried it in the Grow Lounge, which I only occasionally visit. It shouldn't be a sub forum, it should be its own, out there with the rest. But thats just my two cents. I just gotta go with the flow and try to remember to get up here more often cause I like your setup and wanted to watch it along the way but kept spacing that it was in a sub forum. :jointsmile:

Well I first started in the cab-closet thread, which it really isn't. It is just a very compact grow area. It is also flexible as the mylar panels are just hung on wires and are moved to access the plants and to make more or less room as needed. I put the mylar on pieces of 2' x 4' or 18" x 4' cardboard.

This plant, the "Big One" has a different phonotype than the rest of the grow.
I actually tried to supercrop it back in week six but "FIM". I did have some other cropped plants grow as I expected but they were all males. Whachagonado?
Anyway, some of the lower buds are still producing a couple of new pistils here or there, but generally it's dying. I'm Watching the trycs closely! Mostly clear, few cloudy and a couple are amber. Maybe one more week (that would be right to schedule, Feb-23)

She was slight, not so vigarous but healthy and beautiful! So,I kept her around and transplanted her into a big bucket to grow into. It didn't help much. She is what she is. Probably will mature a little late.

Well, I started the grow with a 30" window box and well over a hundred seedlings. As I thinned and took out transplants. I still had have a dozen left in this box at sexing time. No one ever, at all gave these six plants any right to live. Six ended up male and I pull em. Here are the maining three girls. They are pretty heavily budded. Very dense. They also may take an extra week or so to mature. Mostly clear trycs and some new growth.

I'm looking at the trics every other day now. I just noticed what looks like a little bit of bud rot on the Runt's cola. I pinched it out and removed it. I don't want to spread it, but there's not much time left anyway (gee bud rot, that plant was right in front of the fans and the RH was pretty low....I dunno).
The Big One and it's spur may be the next to be cut after the Runt. It's been quiet lately, all the hairs are dried up, plenty of clear trics left though.
I'll probably leave the trheee girls in the boat until last, as they still have active bud growth.

When the upload is complete you again select the attachment utility, which will now have the names of all your uploaded photo files. Just put the curser wherever you'd like the photo to appear in the message and select the photo file you'd like to put there. Continue for all the rest of your photos.

As they should be, they are the best of the grow. Three plants in the same vessel (the blasphamy!). These three plants weigh in at just under 8oz trimmed. And the aroma is way nicer than the other three. Smells like 4 star hotel soap (ok, so I'm not a professional taster <G>) Official tasting will be in another few weeks (not that I won't test a popcorn or two as a pre-taste).
This is before they were trimmed, actual no-flash photo.

Heya Shovel
I'm growing bubblegum from BuyDutchSeeds and wanted too seek your advice.
I've been reading up on when to harvest according to trichomes.
Some people say you should harvest when the trichomes are all clear because they are mostly THC and that opaque trichomes contain CBD which has a negligble effect on THC.
Others say you should harvest when half the trichomes are opaque,because the THC levels are highest.
If ive read correctly then you harvest when all the trichomes are opaque, also that u've been growing BG for four years.
What influenced your decision to wait for all trichomes to be opaque and did you experiment with other techniques? Is this the best way for BG?
Thanks alot
Peace:rastasmoke:

18 light, 6 dark, and it should be COMPLETE dark, no interupptions.
This is vegative.
Flowering is 12/12 - 12 on and 12 off and it's even more important to keep it pitch black for the full 12 hours as the plant measures the darkness and releases a flowering hormone.
Theres all the information your ever going to need in the growing forums.
