Would you consider computer games an art medium?

A drawing is considered art.

Acting is considered an art.

Music is considered art.

Movies are considered art.

I think to brand a medium that integrates almost every other form of art known to mankind not an art in itself seems more then a little arrogant. The way games are evolving, they are more like experiences. I've found games like F.E.A.R, Condemned, Resi 4, Oblivian and Gears of War to hit a spot that none of those previous forms could reach.

I say... YES  ! As for what is not art, 90% of the Tate Gallery. :D :stoned:

Yes

It is a shame they are not treated like it :(

I think games still have a stigma as a childs domain. This is complete BS and ignores the market.

I think in the future (in the UK at least) that it will gain more respect as the interactive entertainment artform that it is.

IEA - Cool I made up an abbreviation, I must be a nerd.

That's a shame you had to quit playing. I'm a nerd, joined by other nerds all of whom love to smoke it up and socialise with their nerdy games  :stoned: !

The game that come out before Oblivian, Morrowind, was amazing!!! And I would consider that to be art. Some people still don't see film as art
