I have been having a problem for the passed 4 days now, and I hope you guys can help me out... I really dont like alot of ppl too know, but I do smoke weed on occasion, maybe once every few months... Not a big deal... Well I decided to smoke with a friend Weds night... It was the rest of a joint I had, Ive smoked on it a few times already the last few weeks and have been fine the day after... Well Thursday (day after I smoked) I woke up feeling fine (other than the day after groggyness u feel after smoking), but I wasnt high or feeling high at all... Well I went out with a friend to look at a car hes thinking of buying, and when we were over there it just hit me out of nowhere... The only way I can describe it is, its like Im having all the negative effects of being high, inability to concentrate, short term memory loss, lightheaded ness, and just over all not feeling like whats happening at the time is really happening... Its like I have a permanent bad buzz or something... Well I figured it would go away after a while, and I had that day off work so I wasnt too worried about it... So Friday I woke up, again feeling fine, got dressed went to work, and bam out of nowhere it came again! It was so bad I had to go home early, scared to drive my car home, but no way in hell I was going to leave my car up there all night... Well here it is Sunday, STILL feeling like this!! Now Im really freaking out! I dont know what to do... I tried taking showers, sleep obviously helps because when I wake it goes away for a while but it comes right back afterwards!! What the hell is wrong with me??? Anyone ever have something like this happen?? I used to smoke all the time back in the day and NEVER experienced anything like this... Tomm I have decided to go see a doctor, but I doubt they will really be able to help me... Ive already left work once, called in work, so this is REALLY getting in the way of my life... And I just need to find out how to stop it all...

You just smoked some really potent bud. The last time I can remember being high for more than one day was my first time getting totally blown, it lasted for about 2 days. I think it's just that your tolerance is really low and you smoked more than your body is comfortable with. It'll go away in due time.

the half life for any marijuana strain is a max. of like 5 hours. this means after 5 hours, 1/2 of the active molecules you have smoked become inactive, therefore your high goes away. i highly doubt either of you have been high for 2 days. now it could be what i used to call a weed hangover. when i first started smokin like 7 years ago i noticed that when i would smoke at night before i went to bed, the next day i would be kind of out of it and grogy, couldnt concentrate like usual, but the nights i wouldnt smoke i would feel fine and extremely energized the next day. this is what i deem as the weed hangover, dont think you were high for 4 days

thats weird that you wake up and fine.. then it kicks in a little later.. maybe your not getting enough sleep or something and thats causing it.. cuz as socialinjustice said.. its pretty much impossible to stay high for 4 days.. but then again.. im not a doctor

hmm that sounds serious, but first;
go get some exersise, eat and drink lots of water. idk how it works but if the fat with thc is getting used in your body the high should come back.
but your describing some kind of neurological problem probly unrelated to pot.
good luck!!
The problem is maybe something else than Lady Marijanne ?

probably not... MJ has a lot of different effects for different situations.

if it was weed then you would wake up feeling it, it's either in your sytem or it's not. you are blaming smoking for something unrelated :( you've upset me.

See, thats what I keep reading... That it cannot be in my system this long... But the only way I can explain it is, is as an intoxicated state... And I have not touched any other drugs... I did try a Zyrtec last night, as someone suggested it might be allergy related... It did not help...
But again, I just took a nap after I posted this, woke up and as of right now I feel completely fine again... But Im sure it will return... I just dont know what the problem could be... :(

Something like that happened to me once. I was a daily toker but that day I didn't smoke. I was at college for an evening class when I started to feel really high. I didn't know what was going on and was kinda freeked out and scared. I was worried about driving home, since I didn't have a license at the time :)
So I drive home anyway on gravel back roads and it was really foggy. So as I get near my home I miss my turn at an intersection cause the fog was so thick. I'm following the edge of the road and all of a suddan the road curves. I freeked ou,t hit the break and went flying off the road. Stopped 2 feet in front of a wood fence post hahaha. I go to a near by house call my step dad to come get me outta the ditch. Had to ask the lady where I was. Just as I get out of the ditch I hear cops comming down the road, so I took off. Passed them both and went home. They asked my step dad what happened, and didn't bother comming to find me for questioning. But I still don't know why I felt all messed up that evening.

Meh, maybe I had a "marijuana hangover" then xD.
Hello Exempt,
After reading your post I felt I needed to reply because I have had a similar experience. You are not alone. What I can also tell you is that it will stop. Some years back I smoked a bowl with three friends and for the next few months I experienced brief recurrences of the high. This is what made me stop smoking. At the time I wondered if the weed was laced, if I was losing my mind, or if I had somehow damaged my brain. I too went to see a doctor a month later. He did an urinalysis, found nothing and told me it was all in my head. Needless to say I felt pretty alone and frustrated because I knew what I was experiencing and it wasn't just "in my head". My circle of friends (who were all smokers) did not believe my story and told me what I was describing was impossible. Funny how my "open minded" friends did not want to entertain the possibility that I was going through hell because of one bowl of weed. But if you think about it, if you had never had this experience yourself, would you believe someone else if they told you the same story? This taught me to keep an open mind when dealing with other people and listening to their experiences. Anyway, as time went on the recurrences of the high (or flashbacks if you will) became less intense with more time passing between each episode. If you have any other questions, I will keep an eye on this thread. Good luck to you.

Its not a physical thing of THC being in your system but it does sound almost like a flashback. Was the high very intense? Flashbacks seem to occur after a trauma, whether in your head or in a War or something. More than likely you will be fine next week. Just look after yourself exercise, eat well and sleep.

I dunno, I feel that whenever I get nice peice of bud, if i smoke it and go to sleep within an hour or two, the high sticks with me the next morning, like it's on hold or something :P
But 4 days seems crazy :P

Hmm.. I've never had a high last for more than 4 hours. I think some of you are getting laced shit. If you bake it though, you can def get a full day high though.

Experiences like this are common, you are not alone. As I am no scientist or doctor, I can tell you, deriving from my experience, that pot is much more powerful than us youth, rebellious inspired neo-hippies like to think it is. It is just harmless we are told through all of the propaganda-powered forums and the web pages we surf upon. "It is medicinal, and is harmless...it's all in your head man!" are common responses you may get when asking these types of questions. But, if I were you, I would go to a psychosis/anxiety forum and ask about the Marijuana experience there. Chances are, you will get scientific answers to your questions. For this reason, and many others, I limit my pot like a hard-drug; only once a week at the most, 2 hits being the most I will ever smoke, and because of my prudent approach to this, I have avoided negative symptoms in as far as I can see. Don't get me wrong, some people just cant handle pot, while others can smoke them for years without any negative symptoms; the point being, technically when smoking weed, there is a significent gamble with your mental health you are playing, and the more you smoke, the greater chances increased. Just be careful thats all.

Read Chris7777's reply on the following:
http://www.medhelp.org/forums/mentalhealth/messages/32668.html
he was described the EXACT same symptoms this person is describing. And it lasted for MONTHS non stop.
Also check out this forum for very similar experiences with this
http://www.steadyhealth.com/Marijuana_is_Very_Dangerous_t87810.html
google search mental health forums and Marijuana you will find so many countless experiences similar to what your experiencing now. I hope that we can learn a lot from these experiences and just try and be more careful thats all.

It'd be pretty fucked up to stay high for more than 5 hours... I've got a story about making it last long though...
So it was halloween and I got interested in acid/lsd after seeing a show on the history channel about it. I took 2 hits of the stuff, then blazed a WHOLE lot. For the next 3 days I was blitzed. I was retarded still when I woke up. Then after the 3 days, the munchies kicked in, and I feasted for about an entire day. Anyway, that's my story.
A weed hangover sounds a lot like it to me. One joint couldn't possibly keep someone high for DAYS, good bud or not.

akward, the first time i got high off of smoking weed the effects lasted roughly three days
although thc metabolizes in the body after a few hours, another form of thc gets stuck in your fat for up to 45 days.... although this form supposedly can't get you high...
i think it has either something to do with a low tolerance, it might all be physcological (the human mind is a powerful thing)
i did hear of this one chick who was able to meditate herself back to stonedness from the night before....
