THEY BETTER FUCKING NOT.

I will lose all respect for all of everything ever if they do. What the hell would bring on the change? What negative effects are they seeing from it being legal?

I hope they're just talking shit.

as I understand it, marijuana IS technically still illegal in the Netherlands, violations are just pretty well ignored  ... I haven't kept up on foreign Law, I admit, things may have changed when I wasn't looking ... :smokin:

I remember watching something on BBC news a few months ago (think it was near the beginning of the year) that the government were thinking of changing the laws so that only Dutch residents could buy weed. The coffeeshop owners were in an uproar about it because they would lose out on a lot of business.
And I just swallowed a lemon seed. Lovely.

I did a search a few minutes ago, and found news on a Dutch website ... claims there is a LOT of talk in Holland about ridding itself of the "doper's vacation land" image ... there is a move to cut the number of coffeeshops in half, and allow Dutch citizens only ... article sounded as though it's still in the 'talking' stage, so no need to cancel your travel plans ... I personally think it would be much simpler if thousands of potsmokers would just gather in the USA streets, toking up, and refuse to be intimidated ... the only way to influence Washington D.C. is "money", or a showing of 'balls'... I have NO money, so balls it is :D ... :smokin:

the us and other puritanical countries have been putting pressure on the netherlands for a long time. they wouldnt want their citizens having fun in other countries using that deadly immoral drug marijuana and engaging in degrading sexual acts with the natives. if they cave i will lose all respect for them as the last remaining stronghold of freedom and sensibility in this fucked up puritan controlled world.

theyd never do it. their system makes way too much sence and the economical depression they would suffer if no more tourists could come in and smoketh the dank? theyll never change their laws. and even if they did theyd have fuckin rediculous prison problems and all the issues america has with having weed illegal.

nahh every few years somebady starts spreading this rumor but it has no truth to it cuz just think about it over half the tourists that come thur are after the weed and they know it, and you think they would lose out on that over 50% i dont think so

That's what i hard also, but like you said, they'd loose SOOO much business, i dont think they'll change anything.

They cant go around one minute saying its ok, and then the next saying only the dutch can buy it.

Hey I go out to visit the Dam on a regular basis. It would be helpful perhaps if you invested the $10 for the Amsterdam smokers guide. Lots of info there and understanding the local do's and don'ts along with a map and description to all coffee shops. Also, understand that it is NOT legal there, the soft drugs are tolerated so be careful with your use when you leave the coffee shops. By their law you have keep it inside the coffee shops but as long as you keep cool you should be ok. Good luck you'll have a great experience. :rasta:
