A teacher told me about this in philosophy once but I forgot the siginificance of it, naturally.

The question was:

When you are looking back or remembering about something do you see yourself in first person or a third person looking at yourself?

Does anyone know about this?

For me I see myself in first person looking out how the memory was exactly.

I've known some people who see themselves in the memory as if a camera was following them at the time. Its trippy.

That is a trippy thought, I usually see through my eyes but not always.

When I have memories, its not like video clips so its hard to say whether its first person or third. Its neither really.

Most of the time in memories I see myself and anyone involved from a third person point of view... I'm sure it doesn't apply to all, but my guess would be that self conscious people probably tend to view themselves from third person in memories.

Sometimes I do see it in 3rd Person. I never thought of it being weird but when I remeber it I try to wonder what I looked like doing it... But if it was something I saw... I see it in 1st Person.

Always, always in 1st person. It's my memory, right? =)

See, I thought everyone saw it in first person until my teacher brought it up. Seems like quite a few people see it from a third person perspective, I just can't seem to do that even if I try really hard.

Well for me, it's kind of hard to recreate something I actually never saw and mentally registered in my brain. So how can I possibly remember something that's supposed to be this vivid dream, but only from another angle? I only viewed it from my perspective, so trying to imagine what I looked like from 3rd person seems hopeless. <<that might not make sense, I'm not sure. Gawd I'm torched. <<

I like my 1st person memories, anyways. They're more intimate I guess. And special. ~

If i was at a concert or something I remember myself in 1st person..

If i think back to random moments, I think of myself in third person....quite odd, really

maybe its because pictures of urself show u in third person...and ur memories are kind of like...pictures stored in ur brain

i only look back as far as i can stand to.
i usually build me a castle made out of memories
just to have some place to go.;)
