View Full Version : Fraternising with the Bank Manager

So, I'm about as skint as Rowanda, and need to strap in the ol' silver tongue to see if I can get any compassion out of the bank Manager (ie, feed 'em some bullshit about how I'm trying really hard to sort myself out :D)

I'm wondering whether or not to shave first - "I can't even afford a razor, man!"

The plan is this:

I walk into the bank, cool, calm, and collected.
Await my turn to see the bank manager, and sit myself down across from him in the office.
Then the I'll explain the situation, whilst wailing and crying, and much sniffing and snivelling..

Will it work?

It has before, but maybe the novelty has worn off by now
:(

I have no idea if it'll work..

hmm, so why am I posting this?

Oh yeah, because i'm bored and trying to delay going out and looking for a job, because it'll be another non-productive job, full of "no sorry we're not hiring at the moment" or "sorry but we're looking for someone slightly older/more experienced/not you"...

so, Res, go for it.. if it works it works, and it if it doesnt it doesnt..

lol

Sorry for the shite advice, but thats all i can say...

Good luck, my man :)

Thanks for the good luck wishes, guys :)

But it seems that I have lost my touch :(
Even though I cunningly stashed an onion in my pocket (to help with the flood of tears), it was to no avail.

It seems that we live in an age where a person can go to work, earn a decent wage, and still not be able to afford to live - even in the most modest of terms.
Of course, my petrol bill has gone up by £20 a month, and then there's the 'poll tax' (why the fuck we all pay that is beyond me:confused: ) which has risen by £120pa - all of which is not recompensed with higher wages

I mean, here I am...I don't drink, I don't go out to the pub, I haven't got expensive tastes in clothes (still having to wear the school uniform, it's that long since I bought any new clothes), I eat like an Ethopian (on a good day), and don't have Sky, holidays, or anything else that seemingly everyone else around me can indulge in...and I still can't survive!
WTF!

After I have paid all my bills, I am left with £30 a month to myself!
Out of which I have to buy any 'incidentals' - like bread and milk and such

So what is the point of going to work, when all I'm doing is paying it all to someone else (ie, the council, the tax man)??

Of course, it doesn't help when the bank sends you a letter telling you that 'there are insufficient funds in your account to pay x...please rectify the situation.....by the way, you have been charged £30 for this letter, plus you will incurr a standard administration fee of £45 for going over your agreed overdraft limit..so you gotta find an extra £75 on top of the already stretched budget that you are working from!'

Gee, thanks for telling me something that I already knew, and thanks for charging me even more money for the service of such!

I just don't get it.

Then, I see society's lazy bastards all around me, living the life of Riley on benefits that I AM PAYING FOR, who have Sky, the latest fashions, and are able to piss it up down the fucking pub every night of the fucking week!

Hmmm... we do live in a fair society, don't we?

AND..I can't even afford to have a smoke to chill out!!!

I'm kinda hoping that the bailiffs come round today...cos then I can break their stupid fucking necks, and tell em to piss off...which, believe me, I will!

I'm off to have a cup of tea...one of the last luxuries that I, a contributor to the welfare of this country, can afford to do...just about!

I don't like the cold at all

Yeah, I've spoken to a few ex-pats that moved to Canada, and they say the same thing...I guess it's more a case of the workers getting rewarded, rather than penilised, as is the case in this country.

Res, again, im sorry to hear about your problems...

My dad started working at 14, and didnt take a single day off until he was 41 I think.. then when him and my mom got divorced, she took half of everything he owned, including all his savings, plus a huge monthly cheque for child support.. so, after roughly 40 years of working and saving, my dad was basically skint.. so, he tried getting an extra job but then taxes/rent/etc went up, and he was no better off than when he was working one job... he used to always have money, and was always happy.. now he's a broke, depressed alcoholic.. this system sucks, everything about it sucks.. im actually pretty anxious about settling into the 'work ethic' mentality, because it means i'll struggle to survive, and pay taxes towards a system which makes the rich get richer and the poor get poorer..

it sucks and i hate it

thats why im gonna be an author, become a millionaire, give half my earnings to charity and never have to work again

lol i wish

Yep, it is always the way.

I mean, I have never signed on the dole. I've been fairly lucky to get work, but even when I went through a spell of no work (about 2 months), I never signed on.
I haven't got a problem with people who are physically unable to work - it's not their fault - but to see these young lay-abouts that litter our streets, scabbing from the social for anything that they can get, just makes my blood boil. Especially when I (and many many others) are just scrapping through on their wages.
Ffs, this country is more concerned with making sure that those lazy feckers are alright, that the people who are contributing seem to lose out, time and time again.

I mean, I can't even get a fucking dentist - I have to go private (£££'s) - whilst the lazy scum-suckers get everything that they need handed on a plate! Where's the justice in that?

And it's so bad now, that the next generation are subconsciously programmed into thinking that the state owes them, anmd why should they goto work!
It's hand out after hand out, and it is we earners that foot the bill.

I pay (on average) £110 a week in taxes!
That £110 a week, would make my life sooo much better (still wouldn't be able to afford to go mad, but at least I could take my kids out, once in a while, or run my house without having to sacrifice one thing or another)
Then there's the 'poll tax'...£100 a month...what for?..so that the council can tidy up after the low-life scum, who are 'bored', smash the fucking place up!

The trouble with society these days, is that there is too much of a 'what's in it for me?' mentality. Theses kids can't be bothered to do well at school - why should they? Their parents probably didn't, or at least don't give a fuck about their children, and besides, what's the point of getting a good education and then a job...why work, when they can scab off the state...just like their parents!
And so the gene-pool grows...until, one day, people are gonna revolt..

I would certainly be in favour of a national revolution - a bit drastic? Maybe, but democracy sure doesn't seem to work!
We vote in a government to work FOR us, and instaed they do what the hell they please..regardless of the general concensus of opinion.
We didn't want to go to war...
The governement ignored the public, and did it anyway....

AND WE WILL BE PAYING FOR IT THROUGH THE NOSE FOR GENERATIONS TO COME!!!

And the elderly (I'm talking WW2 vets, here) are treated like shit!
In my opinion, they should have a free life...completely free!!!
How many oldies will be dieing of hypothermia this year, because it will be a toss-up between paying the poll-tax, or getting the heating on?!?!?!?

Absolutely dispicable

They fought for our freedom...and they are treated like 3rd class citizens (2nd class being workers, 1st class being social-scammers).

It is beyond my comprehension!!!

Res, you hit the nail on the head there - its incomprehensible

But isn't the way most of the world is run now incomprehensible?

The fact that people are killing people all over the world is incomprehensible.

The way peopkle treat eachother is incomprehensible.

The fact that so many people believe in God (who says "thou shalt not kill"), and use God's name to kill others is incomprehensible.

The fact that our whole life is spent earning money is incomprehensible.

The fact you cant survive, literally, without money is incomprehensible.

the fact that we have to live our lives by other peoples rules is incomprehensible

EVERYTHING, now-a-days, is incomprehensible to me..

and you know what sucks the most about it? the fact that we cant do shit to change it

if we dont vote, then we're just another statisic

if we dont work then we have no money, and are then takin money from people who do work, which is wrong

if we try and change the way people think then we're 'just being silly'.

if we smoke weed - which gives us freedom of thought, the ability to 'think outside the box' - then we're just another part of the 'counter culture' and doing something wrong

you know what that is, mate? its incomprehensible

:(

England's hardly a tropical paradise Res, av u been outside today? Its freezing. lol
Depends what u want, would u wanna be happy in a cold country, or depressed in a mild one? Either way if you really did wanna move to Canada, or anywhere for that matter, you would need money anyway, to buy ure house there and get flights and buy new things, but the government here is takin all ure money anyway for shitty taxes that don't mean a thing, or to give to pre-adolescent slags, who can't keep there legs closed for 5 minutes with 15 babies and one on the way living in a council flat with several fathers, who are also on benefits btw, play acting there incompetence in the workplace so they get sacked and claim 'You know, we've tried, but no1 will hire us, WE'RE the victim' and the fukin arsehole powers that be believe this is the case, so take money off the hard working members of society and giv it to these fuk-ups, who contribute nothing to the economy, and if its not these dikheds they're giving ure money too, its the asylum seekers, who, I agree, deserve a chance to live in a place thats not a warzone, but fukin contribute man, you wouldn't walk in to someone elses house with a complete disregard for there rules and squat there for as long as you please without helping them out a bit with the bills, so why do it to some1 elses country, at the expense of the inhabitants?
You try to make more money, but end up with less due too increased taxation with increased income so someone else can get paid for the work you do, something along the lines of legal theft.
But hey what you gona do, you can't do anything without money nowadays, freedom is officially non-existant without large sums of cash (and from Res and about 300 million other ppl in the world, you can see how hard it is to get that). Its a big pill to swallow, or have shoved up ure arse as the case may be, but its a harsh reality that isn't gonna go away for a long, long time.
You can't even be self-sustained anymore, and live off the fat of the land without being forced to give sumthing to those less fortunate/lazy.

Your right on the money with young people not wanting to work when they could just collect a goverment cheque every month...

Also what you said about WW2 vet's getting treated like shit.."It boil's my blood"
My grandfather who fought in WW2. Injured his foot storming the beach's @ normandy
on D-Day and now is confined to a wheel chair and can't get the much needed medical
care he deserves unless he can prove with out a doubt that it was WW2 related..
The way our WW2 vet's are treated is sickining...Your right they should be able to live out the last of there live's with honor and dignity with out having to scrape by with the shit pension they get..

I agree with you guys except on one thing

I'm 'a kid' and im currently unemployed, but im not on the dole, not claiming welfare or social security, or any of that

I'm not earny any money, so i dont get any money.. thats the way i want it until i start working again

so its not just unemployed 'kids' scrounging off society...

The war vets should be treated as kings, they were what made you proud to be english, they weren't trained in arms like the soldiers nowadays, they were normal working class ppl like butchers, postmen, etc. and they still went out and fought knowing they were goin to get mowed down, but still did it for the country. Now the country that they saved is fuckin them over and has been doing so ever since it ended, they went back to normal lives after the war working day in, day out. Didn't they get like one day where they were allowed to do what they wanted in the streets of London when they came back from the war? I think it was summat like that, but 1 day of celebration for these ppl that risked there lives and hav seen there mates heads get blown off, or choked by mustard gas, and the country that they did it for, allowed them one fukin day off as reward. Exactly right GHoST and Jimmi!

We are completely mad, aren't we?
To think that we shouldn't pay for those lazy gimpoids, is really mean of us, isn't it!

If you wanna work (like our friend GHoST), you're either not experienced enough, too young, too old, untrainable, not cost-effective...the list goes on
Well, something's gotta give, hasn't it?

I faced the same perils that GHoST faces now...I had a boat-load of qualifications, that weren't worth the paper that they were written on, because without experience, it will cost too much to train you...without experience, you can't get a job, you can't get a job without experience..yadda yadda

Then, as you so rightly say, Jimmi, there are those who willingly seek unemployment. And who can blame them? Would you work if you didn't have to?

What needs to happen is a return to sensible YTS schemes and the like.
If you are out of work for more than 6 months, then soory, that's it...suffer.
I'm sorry if that seems a bit draconian, but the lily-livered libralists are destroying this country, and others like it.

It is evident in almost every walk of life and senario;
OH, yes this bloke beat thje fuck out of his wife, and abused his kids...but he had a bad childhood...so it's not his fault...we should set them up with a regular income from the state, and furnish him with a house and car, so he can integrate back into society...
BOLLOCKS...burn him...get rid of the genepool..

I suffered some abuse as a kid - was beaten up by my step-father.
My mum was poor, and we had to go to school in tattered trousers, and eat shit food.

But guess what? I aint gonna beat up my kids, or abuse my (ex)wife...I don't go out and smash the place up...or mug old ladies...or rape girls..
I had abuse and I had suffering from being in a poor family..

ALL THE MORE REASON NOT TO INFLICT THAT UPON ANYONE ELSE!!!

I know what it feels like to dread a person coming home from work, wondering if they had a good day or not...wondering if I was gonna get beaten about the head, because I was the easiest target to lash out at..FFS!!!
I would never NEVER make my kids feel that fear!

And yet, we only have to read the stories in the papers, and see people who do that very thing, gain sympathy.

Sorry, but burn them...

I try to live my life within the laws of this country (smoking dope withstanding lol), whether I like them or not...and I get penilised for my honesty and hard work.
Others..scummy folk..flaunt the law at every turn, and get rewarded for doing so!

"Oh, we smashed up the town centre because we were bored"
So, the council will spend £40,000 of tax payers money, to build a community centre for them...

...which they then smash to pieces...

"Oh, we smashed it to pieces because that all we know...."

Well, I say let's go into their houses (that we pay for) and smash the fuck out of their homes...why?...because it belongs to us, and we felt like it..

Of course, we can't (and won't) do that, because we are a better breed of person...but ffs, I'm slowly forgetting who I am, and am tired of struggling to support my miniscule, pitiful existence, because I have to pay for these low-life scum.

I've never understood that excuse either, if anything being abused or bullied would make you empathic and not want to expose that to other people, like Res.
The problem with the society today is that there is no respect, people smash shit up because they were 'bored', most people like to do sumthin constructive to conflict there boredom, cause I feel it leaves you with somethin of value after. I can see the attraction to destroying stuff, fireworks, bonfires, watching demolitions are pretty cool aswell, so I can see that when u r 'bored' u may wanna break shit.
BUT
Break ure own shit then, it all boils down to respect. The shitheads that smash through windows and vandalise everythin in sight do it because they have no respect for anything, they don't put themselves in the positions of the people who, in the mornin hav to fish out the brick that had been planted in the middle of there, now, shattered windscreen, jus the night before, or worry about how much that shit is gonna cost and pay for the damage that some other cunt has inflicted, they do think about all that stuff though and thats what makes em laff, the fact they're causing sum1 they don't kno inconvenience is 'fun', plus they get to see summat go smash.
Funny thing is, when they're on the receiving end they piss and moan, and like I sed b4 u'd think, goin through a bad experience would make em gain a bit of fukin empathy, it probly doesn't though.
Every1 would benefit a lot more if ppl showed more respect and compassion and less fukin arrogance/recklessness, but its gonna be a while b4 that happens.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying, Jimmi - there is a certain 'erotisism' about smashing things up, but as you said, they should smash their own shit up...like their heads!

There is no disipline, at least, not much...because the perpetrator of such crimes, seems always to be seen as the victim (bad childhood, abused and neglected etc etc etc). The sooner that crime is punishable with decent deterents (such as 'chain-gangs', and the like) the better.
Prison is not a deterent, it is a school for the less gifted - go in a petty shoplifter, come out a full-blown bank robber...or worse!

You hear the crims moaning about the conditions of prison. Geez, it's like, so fucking what...you broke the laws of the land, and so forfiet any rights to be treated as a decent citizen.

Make Jail hell, so that they DON'T wanna go back, and then you'll (in time) start cleaning up the streets.

It always seems to be a case of 'prevention better than cure', and yet it should be 'cure the desease'!

Bastards, the lot of 'em
